Any time you call an 800 number (for a credit card, banking, charter communications, health and other insurance, computer help desk, etc)and you find that you're talking to a foreign customer service representative (perhaps in India, Philippines, etc), please consider doing the following: After you connect and you realize that the customer service representative is not from the USA, (you can always ask if you are not sure about the accent), please, very politely (this is not about trashing other cultures) say, "I'd like to speak to a customer service representative in the United States of America ." The rep might suggest talking to his/her manager, but, again, politely say, "Thank you, but I'd like to speak to a customer service representative in the USA ." YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CONNECTED TO A REP IN THE USA . That's the rule and the LAW. It takes less than one minute to have your call re-directed to the USA . Tonight when I got redirected to a USA rep, I asked again to make sure - and yes, she was from Fort Lauderdale. Imagine what would happen if every US citizen insisted on talking to only US phone reps from this day on. Imagine how that would ultimately impact the number of US jobs that would need to be created ASAP. If I tell 10 people to consider this and you tell 10 people to consider doing this - see what I mean...it becomes an exercise inviral marketing 101. Remember - the goal here is to restore jobs back here at home - not to be abrupt or rude to a foreign phone rep. You may even get correct answers, good advice, and solutions to your problem - in real English. If you agree, please tell 10 people you know, and ask them to tell 10 people they know....etc.

I know of no such law. This is a constant staple of hoax emails. Snopes says it's a hoax too.
I don't know if it is true or not. But I do know I've said. I don't understand you can speak to someone who speaks english. I'm sorry I don't understand you can I speak to someone who speaks english. I say that until they transfer me. I've only done it a couple of times but it worked.
It's not true. I have a Cricket cell phone and the telephone support os in the Philippines. They use masking software to distort the accent to make the representatives answering sound like robots in bad 1950s sci fi movies. For one thing, English is not the official language legally of the united States, and only thirty oe so states have mandated it as officially the language of the state passing such laws. Businesses can farm all kinds of jobs overseas, including call center ones. I don't like it, but the scam was designed to generate harassment of call center employees. A better target are the brass in the companies that do the job migration to other countries.
Snopes says it's a hoax too. As P.T Barnum once said, "... Ax Stoner. LOL
You know, there are people (especially some old people) that spend half their day or more just finding these kind of email stories and forwarding them around to each other. Almost every senior you know that has email has at least one of these people sending them this kind of garbage "news". The ones I know just hate it. The trend has slowed somewhat but for a while there a few years back, some of the uber-geeks said they had abandoned email completely as a waste of time and went back to snailmail.
I'm on a list server for an alumni group - I filter some of the spring butts, glance at some notes and delete many of them with only a glance at the subject. Every once in a while there is some gem of a news item - such as a classmate's recovery from surgery, etc. So I stay subscribed.
A woman I know is constantly sending me this stuff along with chain emails - you know, the ones with a curse if you don't forward to at least ten friends. I delete them all without reading.

It was quite a blow to my Grandmother the first time I politely declined to go to mass with them after I won the right after conformation to be free of the arm twisting to go to a church of a faith I found to make no sense. Tender loving oppression is common in families. I have always been extraordinarily outspoken though. No one in my family today would ever make the mistake to try to push any religion on me without wearing nomex and having someone with a fire extinguisher standing by in 2012. ;-)
Tell me about it. Part of my extended family is the posture child for appearing religious and god fearing, and yet being totally dysfunctional. The side that was Unitarian were much more moral and family oriented.

Walmart is a good store. I bought some Scotts grass seed there yesterday. I think it was 20lbs for about 35 bucks after tax. Facebook sucks though. I heard they use facial recognition software now to catch people by linking it to facebook pictures.
I have never found anything at Walmart that I couldn't find cheaper somewhere else. But then I haven't been in a Walmart for more than a decade.

Wally World sucks and is anti-American in so many ways. I avoid it like the plague. You should support your local merchants even if they might cost a bit more.
I do support my local merchants. That doesn't mean I don't shop at Walmart. I'd rather keep the extra money in my pocket and stimulate my families economy. If I am already out at Snyder Brick and Block and Walmart is right next door practically. I am not going to drive around and waste time and gas to to buy somewhere approved by some dead weight liberals. I find it amusing when people try to make themselves out to be better then others because they don't shop at walmart. Lame.
So in other words you don't have a clue if it is cheaper or not. You know what. I've never foun anything at Macys I couldn't find at walmart cheaper. Of course I never go to Macys so I don't have a clue.
I know it wasn't, so why would I bother to shop there now.

I know locals to go to walmart to stock up their convenience store. There and Sams Club. Why do you think it is your duty to pay higer prices. With the money you save you can keep the difference and stimulate something else. I bet if Sandra Fluke the slut just shopped at WalMart, the money she would have saved could have paid for her own birth control. So should Walmart be against the law?
