WASHINGTON — The unemployment rate fell in 45 U.S. states in January, a sign that nearly all of the country is benefiting from an improving economy and job market. The Labor Department said that only New York state reported a higher unemployment rate in January than the previous month. Unemployment rates were unchanged in four states. That’s better than December, when rates fell in 37 states, were unchanged in 10 and rose in three. Nationwide, the unemployment rate fell to 8.3 percent in January from 8.5 percent. Employers added 284,000 jobs in January, the second-highest total in six years. Nevada had the nation’s highest unemployment rate in January, at 12.7 percent, down from 13 percent in the previous month. California and Rhode Island had the next-highest rates, each with 10.9 percent.

Obama threw all of the long term unemployed who've quit looking for a job, under the bus. They don't count for the "humanitarian" peace prize winning O'bungler. Only people who worship Oilbomber, the hope & change crew, are included in the new/revised cooked books statistics.
Obama's watch stopped on 24 May 2008, but he's been too busy smoking crack to notice.

What is this a sign of?
It's a sign of a very tepid and timid "recovery". The only reason we have even this much "growth" is that for the last year, the GOP House has prevented Obama from doing any more crazy things. Businesses want to grow, but they will continue to be cautious while Obama remains in office.
Now you know better than to say that, just remember who they elected....

Economists have found it takes much longer for a economy to recover after a financial crisis. That has NOTHING to do with Obama. he GOP House has prevented Obama from doing any more crazy things. ROTFL And you base that on what? Your own biases?
