Bible Study Title: Mitt Romney For President… Anti-Christ Ascending The franchise rights we Americans enjoy may be the most extensive of any nation in the world and the exercise of these rights is an awesome responsibility. The prospect of freely choosing the myriad government officials who hold sway over so many aspects of life is an unimaginable prospect for most of the citizens of the world. Assuming (wrongly) that folk weigh carefully issues that are important to them prior to casting their votes, common considerations involve economic, social and security matters. Conventional wisdom states the economy remains the chief influencer when it comes to national elections, particularly with regard to the presidential contest. With this in mind, I offer guidance regarding the potential candidacy of Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts. As I write this, (very) early polls indicate Romney is the frontrunner among challengers to the President for the 2012 election. I am concerned that any Christian would vote to grant a man such as Governor Romney the solemn honor to serve this great nation as president. And not for the reason many might assume. Its not, as many suggest, that there is a great deal of evidence of a lack of true conviction on his part regarding issues such as gay-marriage and abortion. Yes, he has flipped-flopped on these. Its not that he was the architect of what has been called the proto-type of a socialized medicine along lines very similar to Obama-care. Its not even due to my concern over the fact that he may be using Grecian Formula (humor). The problem with Governor Romney is that he is a temple Mormon and a high priest within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Now, for a moment, consider if I had just written that Romney was a Wahhabi Muslim? While most Christians would not hesitate to oppose the election of a Saudi Arabian style Muslim to the highest office in the land, many of the same folk would not hesitate to cast a vote for a (giving him the benefit of the doubt) solid conservative fellow like Governor Romney. I would vote for neither but would have less concern over the Muslim. With the Wahhabist, one knows what one is getting. With a temple Mormon, as Sandra and Jerald Tanner suggest, its hard to separate shadow from reality[1]. The Mormon temple ritual, though modified and softened in the last twenty years, is a highly secretive and disgusting program of blood oaths and secret-society mumbo-jumbo that was originally patterned after the rites of the Freemasonry. If most voters were aware of the gory details of the ritual involved in Mormon temples, especially those before the recent changes, the ex-governor would not stand a chance of serious consideration. As an aside, should Romney achieve the nomination, one can count on an avalanche of revelations regarding the particulars of Mormon history. Romney will constantly have to defend the many odious positions the church has taken in its brief history. Of course these include the LDSs historic support of polygamy and its practice of racism (primarily towards blacks as recent as 1972). Mormon history is interesting and sad, but Governor Romney should have a much bigger problem with Christians. The very essence of Christianity is the acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the only Son of God. To Christians, Jesus is God. Not only is, but always has been. Mormon theology asserts that God evolved from a man to a God and that all Mormon men may one day become gods of their own planets. Yes, indeed, Romney looks forward to one day being God over his own planet where his celestial wives will be eternally pregnant as they populate their kingdom. Further, Mormon teaching asserts that Jesus Christ was a spirit brother of Satan and was conceived by heavenly parents
and the goofiness goes on and on. How any informed (this is key) Christian could consider trusting the nations highest office to a temple Mormon is beyond comprehension for me. This is why. Governor Romney epitomizes the spirit of the Anti-Christ. The very essence this spirit is the distortion of the identity of Jesus Christ. The Jesus that Mormonism presents is not remotely similar to the Jesus of the Bible and the presentation of this false-Jesus is the calling card of the Anti-Christ spirit
1 John 4:2-3 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. NIV It would be bad enough that Romneys Jesus is not the Jesus that we know and love, but worse, far worse, is the fact that Mormonism offers a gospel much different than the one we have received. Since this is the case, to elect Romney to the presidency would be to elect someone who is under an eternal curse. Imagine that
a president perpetually opposed by God for the sin of preaching another gospel. Gal 1:8-9 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned! NIV With the Muslim, one knows what one is getting. With Romney one also knows what one is getting
if one does his homework. Joseph Smith, the father and founding prophet of Mormonism was a son of Satan, the father of all liars. Romney, unless he repents and embraces the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, is a son of the same lineage. The pundits and many Christians may think Romney has come around to the right position on many of the issues important to conservative Christians because he has had a change of heart. His father knows better.
