Most people are aware (but sometimes forget) that movements are almost always infiltrated by people who wish them to fail. Infiltrators are there to do two things: to monitor what is going on, and to interfere with its effectiveness. Such interference can take several routes. Among these are to promote ineffective, sometimes damaging actions -- such people are generally called 'agent provocateurs." The other way they interfere is to promote division. Like many people, I've long suspected that this is increasingly happening in the movement for

Rules for Leftards #54). In my mind this is a serious issue even though to everybody else its doesnt exist ..
Rule #1 for Fascists:
Communism for the Top 1%.
Free Markets for Everyone Else.
See Uzbeckistan Citizens Forced to Pick Cotton for Free for details...
And Today's Amerikan Debt Slaves:
" Todays college graduates are often referred to as indentured servants because they are forced to fork over large parts of their salaries in wage garnishments to college debt collection agencies in return for the work chit of a degree. Tell me materially how this is different from traditional indentured servitude, where people were fined heavily for being transported to America, and then forced to work to pay back their sponsors for free. And of course, the laws protecting debtors have been stripped away, returning to an almost eighteenth-century mode of unforgivable debt and no limits to what can be done to collect it. Weve even seen the backdoor return of debtors prisons. Others have noted the breakdown of whats commonly referred to as the rule of law in financial matters and noted the creation of separate rules and standards of conduct for the rich as opposed to ordinary people. Of course we are all free to "choose" our jobs, just as we are free to be starving and homeless as those jobs disappear."
All around the world we are regressing. Welcome to capitalist progress. Uzbekistan is the future.
With guys like Romney leading the way.

What started out in Judea as a humble cult in thrall to the new idea of God-given grace, degenerated into a vile whoredom of concentrated wealth devoted to the routine infliction of cruelties.

"We stand to lose a proportional amount of human capital accumulated over the past five hundred years as the benighted people of post-Roman Europe lost, and it may take us a thousand years or more to recover - if we recover at all. It's especially disturbing to see the infiltration of the latest version of Jesus mumbo-jumbo - Southern Republican Nascar Evangelical orthodoxy - take over the collective mind of the USA. "

" In the United States, civil defense plans dating back to the Eisenhower administration were dusted off and activated. One of them mandated that the National Defense Highway Systembetter known as the nations freewaysbe closed to civilian traffic. There were good practical reasons for that step, but nobody had thought about what would happen when millions of Americans tried to flee urban targets and found the freeways barricaded. On the first day of the crisis, most people were too stunned to do anything but follow the instructions that filled the mediastay put, seek cover, you are safer at home than out in the countrysidebut the following night brought second thoughts. All narcissistic sociopaths, wth a touch of prima donna and perfumed prince. Can anyone look at Romney and not see a world class sissy?

Professor Daniel M. Abrams and his graduate student Mark J. Panaggio -- both right-handers -- are the first to use real-world data (from competitive sports) to test and confirm the hypothesis that social behavior is related to population-level handedness.
The results are published April 25 in The Journal of the Royal Society Interface.

In the general experience of humankind, there is little new here except insofar as America is in many ways a historically unique nation. Certainly for Americans this nation's failure is indeed new, and it has obviously been very hard for them to swallow. Speaking for myself, having grown up in the 1950's and 60's, I can say that nothing in my personal experience prepared me for the sort of America we have in 2012.
Being a historically unique nation, and the greatest military power the world has ever seen, America will no doubt (ultimately) fail uniquely and spectacularly.
The interesting questions now are when does all this end? How does it end? If we accept the premise that no meaningful change is possible, a premise which is supported by countless observations of what actually happens in Americanothingwe are forced to conclude that, sooner or later, America's story ends in tears for most of its citizens. On the other hand, America's manifest failure can probably go on for many years in its current form.
Beyond this point I don't want to go today. What I've said is already depressing enough."
"Todays massive Taliban truck-bomb explosion at a military base in Paktia province appears to have been only the latest such attack. "The new explosive is so destructive and powerful that the leadership council has been advised to prevent civilian casualties by
ordering the evacuation of all homes within 15 kilometers (roughly 10 miles) of U.S. and NATO bases," says a well-placed source in the Talibans military council for southern Afghanistan...

" the "liquid asset poor" With no cash reserves, they are just one paycheck away from financial ruin should an emergency or a job loss happen because they cannot easily access cash on a moments notice. Sadly, the CreditDonkey.com survey also found that more than half of respondents (54%) said they may be stuck in this situation for the foreseeable future. They have not set up an emergency cash savings strategy."

" The treaty, as it turned out, was surprisingly generous. No one had to admit fault or pay reparations; the United States simply had to accept the status quo in East Africa and assign its rights over Diego Garciawhich was owned by Great Britain anywayto the Peoples Republic of China. Since the United States had no effective way to contest either demand, there was clearly no point in quibbling. The treaty was signed at the beginning of October, and ratified by a glum Congress three days later. "
Chad Myers is a met, not a journalist, so I think he was giving his honest opinion and not hyping Sandy. He says he spent 20 minutes working on that particular tweet. I agree, how was that tweet ridiculous? What is ridiculous is the lack of activity on here (yes, even in the middle of the night) for what could be a defining time in meteorological history. If everyone knew the 1993 Storm of the Century was going to happen again in 4 days, you would think people would be flying off the rails non-stop. We might have something even worse and nothing!?! On a side note, how do you spend 20 minutes on 140 characters?
And I don't Even want to here about Jesus and prayers for Sandy to hit somewhere else.
For those with gasoline generators, 10-15 gallons really isn't enough. That may only last a day or two. You should probably consider 30-40 gallons at least on the possibility gas stations may not have power to pump from their tanks.
For those with gas stoves, most use some sort of electronic/spark ignition which won't work without power. Have butane wand type lighters on hand.
750 W power inverters at Sam's.
You will be quarantined. Out to where Electricity is available.

The 00Z (8PM EDT)
runs of the major global models have really consolidated not only on a target area but on a target time. Up until now they were pretty divergent on landfall time. Now all of them have somewhere just south of New York City near 8PM on Monday evening (2012-10-30 00z). That is the worst possible outcome for the Jersey shore, NYC and Long Island as far as coastal surge damage is concerned, especially due to the long period of onshore winds and rising water that will occur before Sandy gets onshore. Just terrible if this plays out.
