Good July Morning...8D

The Good News for me is that I'm self referencing

Climate Change acceleration as I google for news

on

EIA 6 C degrees by 2035

;}

So I'm going to experiment on just dumping raw data here, like, once a day or so....;}

" It's also instructive to look at how much more global temperature would rise if solar, wind and hydro were not available at the levels estimated by EIA between 2008 and 2035 and coal were used instead.[7] The additional rise would be about 0.0016 C in the case of solar, 0.0126 C for wind, 0.0565 C for hydro, and 0.0706 C for all three of these alternatives combined.[8] These avoided temperature increases are significant and renewable energy installations will keep on giving beyond 2035, but they are a small component of the overall temperature equation, which by the same assumptions is predicted to rise 0.49 C from carbon added to the atmosphere over this period.

These limits to mitigation deliver a clear message: It's past time to begin adapting to climate change with the same effort and specificity that communities invest in preparing for a coming hurricane or flood. Many involved in climate policy see this, but many other policymakers do not. We need to be ready for melting ice, rising sea level, floods, droughts, weather extremes, and changing, stressed ecology. We need zoning and other policies to stop people from moving into low-lying coastal cities and areas that will be more prone to flooding and drought. We need to breed and genetically engineer crops that will handle extremes. We need to anticipate where water shortages will arise and build needed infrastructure or shift how the land is used. We need to protect and manage ecosystems with a view to how they will change and move, preserving corridors for migration and dispersion. We need to establish and maintain a global bank for the DNA and viable tissue of all known species and new species as they are described, as a safety net against extinction. Most of all, we need to fasten our political will to action now. Who knows? If we accept the realities of adaptation, maybe the picture will be so vivid, ugly, and expensive that we'll address mitigation too.

EIA 6 C 2035 Methane is a global warming pollutant like carbon dioxide – only much more potent. http://switchboard.nrdc.org/blog...s_needs_tighter_prod.html

5C and above – Highly unlikely nightmare scenario With a 5C rise, global average temperatures would be hotter than for 50m years. The Arctic region sees temperatures rise much higher than average – up to 20C – meaning the entire Arctic is now ice-free all year round. Most of the tropics, sub-tropics and even lower mid-latitudes are too hot to be inhabitable. The sea level rise is now sufficiently rapid that coastal cities across the world are largely abandoned. Above 6C, there would be a danger of "runaway warming", perhaps spurred by release of oceanic methane hydrates.

Since record amounts of water vapor can evaporate into air heated to record warm levels, it is not a surprise that incredible rains and unprecedented floods are resulting from this month’s near-record warm SSTs in the Gulf of Mexico.

http://thinkprogress.org/climate...ming-we-wouldnt-see-this/

globalwarming.berrens.nl/globalwarming.htm

Four days into the crisis, survivors were packed into the city’s Superdome, living next to overflowing toilets and rotting bodies as gangs of young men with guns seized the only food and water available. Perhaps the most memorable scene was a single military helicopter landing for just a few minutes, its crew flinging food parcels and water bottles out onto the ground before hurriedly taking off again as if from a war zone. In scenes more like a Third World refugee camp than an American urban centre, young men fought for the water as pregnant women and the elderly looked on with nothing. Don’t blame them for behaving like this, I thought. It’s what happens when people are desperate.

Chance of avoiding one degree of global warming: zero.

OK....That's It!.....;}

“Nashville has reached its hottest temperature on record…109 degrees at 314 pm. The previous all time record was 107 from July 27th and 28th of 1952.”

UPDATE: Meteorologist Dr. Jeff Masters has more all-time heat records:

109° Columbia, SC (old record 107° on two previous occasions) 109° Cairo, IL (old record 106° on 8/9/1930) 108° Paducah, KY (ties same on 7/17/1942 106° Chattanooga, TN (ties same on 7/28/1952) 105° Raleigh, NC (ties same on 8/21/2007 and 8/18/1988) 105° Greenville, SC (old record 104° 8/10/2007 although 106° was recorded by the Signal Service in July 1887) 104° Charlotte, NC (ties same on 8/9 and 10/2007 and 9/6/1954) 102° Bristol, TN (ties same on 7/28/1952-this site now known as `Tri-State Airport’) 109° Athens, GA. This is just 1° shy of the Georgia state record for June of 110° set at Warrenton in 1959.

Here is a great graphic via Capital Climate:

The U.S. surface temperature map from Unisys at 4 pm, June 29,2012, shows 100° temperatures stretching almost continuously from California eastward to the Carolinas.

NBC Meteorologist Bill Karins said on Friday , “We’ve never really seen a heat wave like this in the month of June.” Sadly, in a few decades this will just be considered a normal June (see below).

All-time records set Thursday included several in Kansas, where Norton Dam recorded a high of 118°F, beating the old record of 113°F set just a few days earlier. Dodge City, Kan., set a daily high temperature record with a mark of 108°F. That came one day after that town recorded its all-time highest temperature of 112°F, breaking the old record of 110°F, which had been recorded just two days earlier, on June 26.

The peak temperature analysis comes from a Geophysical Research Letters paper that focused on the annual-maximum “once-in-a-century” temperature. The key scientific point is that “the extremes rise faster than the means in a warming climate.”

And the following will not happen because humans won't make it past 2035 except with an Ice Age...;}

The definitive NOAA-led U.S. climate impact report from 2010 warns of scorching 9 to 11°F warming over most of inland U.S. by 2090 with Kansas above 90°F some 120 days a year with 850 ppm.

Notice how we don't get any

City Heat Emergencies anymore...?

OF what happens in say Chicago as it hits 100?

" The first symptoms may be minor. A person will feel slightly nauseous, dizzy and irritable. It needn’t be an emergency: an hour or so lying down in a cooler area, sipping water, will cure it. But in Paris, August 2003, there were no cooler areas, especially for elderly people.

Once body temperature reaches 41C (104F) its thermoregulatory system begins to break down. Sweating ceases and breathing becomes shallow and rapid. The pulse quickens, and the victim may lapse into a coma. Unless drastic measures are taken to reduce the body’s core temperature, the brain is starved of oxygen and vital organs begin to fail. Death will be only minutes away unless the emergency services can quickly get the victim into intensive care.

My point exactly.

The IRS will now be taxed (pun intended;) to gather the Health Insurance tax.

IT will now be up to the IRS, and of course they have all kinds of time on their hands, to VERIFY as well TAX.

You'll need a box when ever dealing with anything Federal and a whole new bureaucracy will need to be created.

Weird huh?

Extracts from

* The ACT’s Guide to the Loan Market Association Documentation for Investment-Grade Borrowers, 1 June 2007.

It seems, however, that in the current market conditions the data being provided by banks for the purposes of calculating the displayed screen rates for LIBOR and EURIBOR is not in all cases reflecting the true cost of funds. If this is correct, it means that banks are not providing good information and, as a result, they are triggering a situation in which the Market Disruption clause is likely to be invoked, thus enabling banks to abandon the transparent system of displayed screen rates and instead to charge borrowers interest rates based on the individual cost of funds of each bank. This is a highly opaque and cumbersome way to calculate interest on major loans.

Anyone wondering if the reason why Diamond resigned less than 6 hours ago is because he suddenly grew a conscience, will be disappointed. The real reasons are two: on one hand politicians were concerned he would make it public where all the bodies were buried as reported last night, in the process taking down at least half the English political establishment, obviating his departure from the public eye immediately, and, more importantly, as BBC's Robert Peston reports, the English Fed, that "impartial" and "apolitical" institution known as the Bank of England, got involved.

The Ken Lay Principle..... :twisted: :? 8-)

Jeremiah Wright To Deliver Sermon In D.C. Sunday By Elizabeth Flock

D.C.'s historic Florida Avenue Baptist Church is marking its centennial with a special sermon on Sunday, delivered by President Barack Obama's former pastor, the controversial Jeremiah Wright.

During the 2008 Obama campaign, the media dissected and lambasted Wright's former sermons, which included remarks that the Sept. 11 attacks were proof "America's chickens are coming home to roost," and another comment: "...not 'God Bless America.' God damn America."

When reached by phone, the church said it did not know what Wright's sermon would be about.

[Check out our editorial cartoons on President Obama.]

Since its founding 100 years ago, the Florida Avenue Baptist Church has only had four pastors, but welcomed numerous guest pastors to speak.

Wright is pastor emeritus of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, having retired in early 2008.

Update, 2:26 p.m.:

Florida Avenue Baptist Church Reverend Doctor Earl D. Trent Jr. tells Whispers that Wright was chosen because the church has a longstanding relationship with the Chicago pastor.

"We've always been at the cutting edge here," Reverend Trent said. "And the more special the occasion, the more special the guest."

You are here:

Just about anything written about Climate Change pre 2010 is hopelessly out of date.

Any CC article talking Centuries, or 2200 or even 2050 is way off the mark.

“It appears that we’re about to cross a threshold in summer . . . you might even call it a tipping point as we go into a net energy absorption” of the higher elevations, Box said. “Then we’ll see the melt area expanding abruptly and potentially covering the entire ice sheet in summer for the first time in observations.”

Box said the shift may take another decade or so, provided that current trends continue. “We’re right on the threshold.”

Colgan said it’s difficult to make predictions based on the reflectivity record, but it would be significant if 2012 becomes another record melt year.

"Box said the shift may take another decade or so...." like this guy, in Greenland now....

2012 Greenland ice melt greatest ever.

We've got months....

The UK’s Hadley Centre climate change model, best known forwarning of catastrophic losses of Amazon forest, predicts that undercurrent levels of greenhouse gas emissions, the chances of such adrought would rise from 5% now (one every 20 years) to 50% by 2030, andto 90% by 2100.

(We won't be here in 2050...;}

The collapse of the Amazon is part of the reversal of the carbon cycle projected to happen around 3°C, a view confirmed by a range ofresearchers using carbon-coupled climate models. 3 degrees C would likely see increasing and significantly large areas of the terrestrial environment being rendered essentially uninhabitable by drought andheat.

3C happens by 2020....

Rainfall in Mexico and Central America is projected to fall by50%. Southern Africa would be exposed to perennial drought, a hugeexpanse centred on Botswana could see a remobilisation of old sanddunes, much as is projected to happen earlier in the US west. TheRockies would be snowless and the Colorado river will fail half the time.

Hoover Dam stops producing electricity by 2017....;}

Drought intensity in Australia could triple.

- The fact that would-be Elites are using Global Warming to justify an agenda of global fascism doesn't change the fact that it's a real thing... But "science" has become so politicized that you really have to take all their assertions with a grain of salt. CO2 is an easy target, but doesn't hold-up to logic. The biosphere is essentially a global engine that maintains a CO2/O2 balance. Puny naked apes might be able to make that pendulum swing a little farther than it would have without them, but it's really kind of hubris to think that we could 'break' the system by feeding it a little more fuel than it would have had otherwise.

This is wrong.

CO2 = HEAT

At 400 ppm you can accurately say that 2 C over the 1760 Baseline has been reached.

And burning 1.2 Trillion BBLs and putting that into the atmosphere will do the trick.

And the Climate you see now is from the 1990's inputs.... :twisted: :? 8-)

We've got months to collapse our emissions by 60% and that %age rises by the week now, until we can do 100% immediately and it will have no effect.

And what now prevents the Federal government from offering you the option of buying a buggy whip or of paying a tax for belonging to that class of people who do not own a buggy whip?

And this is important.

The Federal gov't is offering ZERO options.

And forcing a tax.

Again, and time is no factor here, the Ability of the USSA to tax is rooted in the Illegally ratified 16th Amendment which was then used to create the illegal Federal Reserve Corporation.

And good luck on that IRS enforcement...this will get intertwined with FICA & SS....there will be no other way to collect.

So let's say, for shi ts and giggles, $200 the month is the Min buy in.

There is ZERO way that the aformentioned pop has $2400 the year to pay....

Three things that LF likes to avoid now:

Market Manipulation....

Climate Change...

You are forgetting Muslim manipulation. You seem to forget about that here in the padded room:

And the implication is that Muslims are causing all the above.

WASHINGTON — If you want a glimpse of some of the worst of global warming, scientists suggest taking a look at U.S. weather in recent weeks. Horrendous wildfires. Oppressive heat waves. Devastating droughts. Flooding from giant deluges. And a powerful freak wind storm called a derecho. These are the kinds of extremes climate scientists have predicted will come with climate change, although it's far too early to say that is the cause.

Another Afghan soldier has shot and wounded five US soldiers in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, in the latest sign that the training mission in Afghanistan is an utter failure.

The attack took place at a NATI base in Wardak province, east of Kabul. The NATO officials called these “green-on-blue” attacks, where Afghans in the police or army attack their supposedly allied international forces. More than 20 foreign personnel have been killed in such shootings in Afghanistan this year."

It is said that despite the large scale enemy operation and heavy airstrikes for the past few days, they still have not managed to reach the district center."

191 ANA killed is a MAJOR battle.

Yes, children, before "wealth creators" and other masters of the universe were held up as worthy models for their 80-hour weeks and unstinting dedication to squeezing every single minute ever more tightly for a few more bucks -- before those of us who serve the creators and masters were supposed to be supinely grateful for working ever harder and longer to swell the bosses' private coffers -- there once existed the notion that there might actually be more to human life than the treadmill and the ant hill. And that we might even use the amazing technological advances that our species has produced to make life easier, richer, deeper, more engaging and humane for all of us.

All of this is long gone now, of course. As Owen Hatherly notes in the Guardian, both Right and Left have combined, for many decades, to advance the idea that pointless labor is our lot, and that we should be happy with it:"

As Religion can do Nothing to ease Human Suffering, Religion now must radically change into something else.

The police have become internal militarized shock troops, cracking skulls for the elites and enforcing "protest free zones" all over the world. When they aren't beating and tear-gassing protesters or spying on their fellow citizens, they are engaged in various other acts of thuggery like shooting unarmed civilians, preventing recording of their activities and harassing the poor and minorities. Tickets and fines are written up for violating pointless regulations, and millions of dollars of taxpayer money are spent on stopping victimless crimes, even as serious crimes go unpunished and entire cities become "no-go" forbidden zones.

Churches have become downscale social clubs and incubators of reactionary politics for angry white rural Americans fearful of losing their privileges. Evangelical fundamentalist mullahs militate for a theocracy while raking in millions from their "flock." They obsess over homosexuality and abortion even as their congregations experience falling living standards. Sanctimonious preachers turn out to be closet homosexuals and the Catholic church pays millions of dollars to the victims of its pedophile priests when it isn't busy hushing up the scandal.

Peak Amerikan...;}

" The American public are spoiled brats, demanding the best of everything but refusing to pay for it. They believe they live in the best country on earth despite all of the evidence to the contrary. Vindictive, war-mongering, ignorant and xenophobic, they are mollycoddled and doted on by toadying politicians and corporations who constantly tell them how great they are, even though most of them are morbidly obese, gullible, barely literate, beer-swilling cretins, singularly unable to do even the simplest things for themselves. Americans look like side-show freaks festooned with piercings and tattoos and clad in garish and ill-fitting clown costumes, behaving like overgrown children in adult bodies.This clueless population is in denial and elect only “leaders” will tell them what they want to hear. Comfort and distraction are the highest goals.

When will we finally admit that modern American society is pretty much just one giant clusterfuck?

Oh, and I know it's a sin to criticize the perfect military we're all supposed to worship, but when was the last time the military actually defended the homeland of the United States, World War Two? Since then its seems we've been waging wars on the other side of the planet, conveniently often in oil-rich countries. Who is paying for our hundreds of military bases around the world, and what exactly do the American public get for their money besides lunatics trying to blow them up? Do we really need to spend more than the rest of the world combined? The military waged preemptive war on two countries that did not attack us while failing to prevent a mass slaughter in our own country. And I seem to recall scandal after scandal in recent years, from waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay, to posing with hooded prisoners at Abu Ghraib, to the Pat Tillman coverup, to urinating on corpses, to cutting off fingers and ears as trophies, to employing private Blackwater mercenaries, to no-bid contracts costing taxpayers billions, to advocating "total war" with Islam. And now drones are flying over the world's hotspots blowing up wedding parties and terminating American citizens without trial. No, I'm sorry, they are not blameless.

And before you accuse me of "hating the troops" what about the coverups of Gulf War syndrome? What about not being allowed to take photos of body bags? What about being too cheap to buy adequate body armor for combat troops? What about the treatment of patients at Walter Reed Veteran's hospital? What about the military suicides? What about politicians constantly trying to cut funding for caring for wounded veterans while voting for weapons systems even the military doesn't want? Loving war is not honoring the troops. Our institutions have failed them too.

I could go on.

2014-15

6. I expect total sea ice loss will occur during summer in either 2014 or 2015. By this time I expect agricultural output to have declined to a point where food supplies are inadequate and famine and conflict are rife. Farmers will not know what to plant or when and even acquiring seed from other climatic regions may be problematic.

7. Social conditions will be comparable to the Holomodor. People will try to eat anything and everything - earthworms, insects, each other - even in some cases their own children. Nation states will fragment and reform into smaller and increasingly violent competitive groups fighting over rapidly diminishing resources. Maintaining the supply chains required for the operation of modern technology including agriculture will be largely impossible.

8. If we see widespread war before nation states fragment there is a possibility of the use of nuclear and genetically enhanced biological weaponry. Whether through war or famine the human population will be in freefall.

2016+

9. The climate will continue to worsen as more heat flows into the system and this will become the new threat to survivors as population density becomes too low to sustain conflict. Most survivors will be eliminated, leaving the human race on the brink of extinction. A majority of the planet will cease to be habitable. The deserts will greatly expand, though this will help balance the planets thermal budget. Very few people will live to see the Arctic sea ice entirely gone throughout the year or the ruined cities drowned in the rising sea.

10. Assuming the collapse is as rapid and severe as I expect – I would expect the human population to collapse below the new carrying capacity of the planet and therefore for resource pressure to lighten once a sufficient number of people die (granted with few useful resources left and uncertainty about precisely which regions would be good prospects).

Maybe my '2017 Hoover Dam stops producing electricity' statement was optimistic....;}
