Israel will regret to attack Iran: Russia president Visiting Russia Visiting Russia's President Vladimir Putin (L)meets with his Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres as they meet in Jerusalem, on June 25, 2012. Tue Jun 26, 2012 12:47PM Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned the Israeli regime against the consequences of military aggression against Iran, urging Tel Aviv to think well before doing anything it 'will regret later.'
"Look at what happened to the Americans in Afghanistan and in Iraq. I told US president Barack Obama the same thing," the visiting president said in a meeting with his Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres on Monday.
"Iraq has a pro-Iranian regime after everything that has happened there. These things should be thought out ahead of time before doing something one will regret later," he cautioned."One should not act prematurely."
The next war will only last about 12 hours, the USSA hopes.

That result comes from the first analyses of the longest sediment cores ever retrieved on land. They were obtained from beneath remote, ice-covered Lake Elgygytgyn (pronounced Elgee-git-gin) (Lake E) in the northeastern Russian Arctic.
"Note: Ali Latifi, a freelance journalist based in Doha, was reporting from the scene of a Taliban attack on a hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan last week in which 23 people were killed. He tells the story of the attack through his interaction with Haider, an Afghan who fought against the Soviet invasion but now guards a cell phone tower from threats that include insurgent sabotage. The story is printed below with permission.

Kabul, Afghanistan Had this been any other Friday, Mohammed Haider would have been rushing from his home in Paghman to the cell phone antenna he guards day in and day out.
Any other Friday and the grey-haired Haider would be watching hundreds of cars on their way to picnics in the scenic Qargha lake and by the fountains of Paghman, a town just outside Kabul.
But this wasnt any other Friday, and Haider, after being kept up all night from gunshots and blasts at the nearby Spozhmai Hotel, headed to his post guarding an Etisalat telecom tower.
There he stood, as he always has, atop a hill overlooking the hotel that went from being the site of a joyful twenty-second birthday party to the scene of the first Taliban attack specifically targeting civilians since the latest round of war erupted in Afghanistan in the autumn of 2001......;}

Since you like fire so much, here is some to consider:
Hebrews Chapter 12:
1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; 6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." 7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. 12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. 14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; 16 lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. 17 For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears. 18 For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest, 19 and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore. 20 (For they could not endure what was commanded: "And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow." 21 And so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.") 22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. 25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." 27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. -Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV)
The organizers of this operation say that Thursday night was chosen specifically because various parties were held inside this hotel and most of its participants were foreign nationals who had the means of affording its expensive food, drinks and entertainment. Among them were workers from the embassies of Britain, Romania, France, Canada and others; personnel of NGOs which have been working in spreading Christianity in our country for the past decade as well as corrupt officials from Kabuls intelligence agency and Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs who have stuffed their pockets with illegal money and spend their lives in debauchee and play with the dignity, honor and pride of this nation. There were 330 such people and their associates present on the night of the attack with lots of alcohol, several prostitutes and some famous singers playing music at the request of the hotel managers.
Participants of Martyrdom operation
One of the leaders from amongst the four Mujahideen (Hayatullah, Sulaiman, Naimatullah and Kamran) who have now reached the high rank of martyrdom said via telephone: When we reached the hotel, there were 4 police standing at the front gate. We proceeded by killed them with silenced pistols then calmly made our way inside, closed the hotels main gate and began the separation phase because we were instructed by our elders to avoid harming anyone not associated with the Kabul regime or children or any of the hotel workers. We did as asked to the best of our ability by separating the civilians, assembling them in rooms and instructing them to not leave there rooms during the fighting. On the other hand, all foreign nationals, uniformed hirelings and other puppets of ministries were killed after checking their documentation. After that we started engaging the outside enemy."
"The below information is gathered from a worker of the said hotel, a guest businessman and the commander of police check posts. All three of these men state that they have witnessed things which were completely ignored in televisions and radios. They emphasize that foreigners, most of whom were workers of missionary NGOs and western embassies, visited this hotel every night and plenty had arrived especially on this night. The attack happened suddenly and we stood there shocked. We saw that the Mujahid inside were looking for specific targets and were instructing ordinary people to enter rooms and stay there until the fighting is over. Then the fighting began and we do not know what happened until the morning except that the halls were packed with the bodies of dead people. A police commander said on condition of anonymity that more than a hundred people were killed here however we have been told to stay mute about the casualties. He further said the second floor has still not been cleared (second day) while ambulances were making consecutive trips till nearly dusk time. The said person adds that after the attack, the area was cordoned off by foreign troops until dusk time and even the minister of interior was not allowed near the site. The foreign forces evacuated the dead foreign nationals from the scene then allowed the internal intelligence agency to participate in the clear up however the number of killed, most of whom were foreigners is still not known but the said person says that he believes the number reaches into hundreds. The commander who does not want to be named adds that he has never seen such destruction while all the workers near Qargha lakeside have been told to not talk to any news outlets about the casualties.

Miss Jimmie - you ARE the drama queen, aren't you! BOO!!

I'm wondering why you are here. You write like you hate America.
Actually, you write like you are one truly miserable human being.
Jimmy won't say whether he is a citizen of the US or in mental institution outside continental US. But yes, he seems to have a fetish for reporting of present and future misery and fantasizing of a Planet that suffers...as though our being is a hell that EVERYONE has "earned". Cuz he sez so.
Oddly enough, he has stolen enough electricity to post his drivel on a computer, and enough oxygen to do so on a daily basis.
Why Jimmy?? WHY?!?? Why do you hate so much? And why do you regard "Fundies" ( like sneakypete) as your devil-on-earth? Have they put a gun (or explosive bible) to YOUR head too? Have they jailed you or tortured you? Have they stolen your life or wife or bi/tri-lover? Come clean (either of you).

I consider this an important essay, so I suggest you read it carefully, and perhaps more than once, so what I said gets a chance to sink in Dave
"I was half-listening to NPR's Talk of the Nation on Monday afternoon when I heard some remarks which got my full attention. Host Neal Conan was talking with various guests at the Aspen Environmental Forum on getting people to pay attention to the realities of global warming. I have numbered and emphasized the crucial passages.
George Divoki Well, when I look at climate change, I'm always most impressed with the physical data. Given what is happening to glaciers around the world and given the fact that it is now an almost certainty that the Arctic pack ice will disappear in the 21st century, that is the sort of information and certainly what Craig is finding out and what I'm finding out are good stories to tell about climate change. But when you see that sort of data being reported by the media and the public just basically accepting, oh yes, soon we won't have a polar ice cap in the summer, it just indicates to me that somehow the story needs to be brought to the forefront and the consequences of that ice loss; 50 years down the road, what will be happening in North America due to that ice loss needs to be brought up."

The psychological literature does indeed say that if you scare people too much, they'll just turn off and say global warming isn't happening. And it's true, that's what people do, and of course this characteristic human behavior is not helpful as we face the future. Denial only makes a bad situation worse. Those who have not reacted this way to dire climate forecasts have remained upbeat because they believethey've been told by "experts" they trustthat solutions to the climate problem are readily available and cheap to implement. (For example, see my post Understanding Paul Krugman's View Of The Future.)
Optimists are becoming less sanguine as time goes on and no actions are taken, but if people actually understood what is required to fix global warming, many of them would probably react the way the North Carolina Senate did when they voted to ignore future sea level rise....
Experts say there are no clear answers to what comes next for Stockton or how its fall will affect the rest of the state.
