Sources said the early-blooming newborn was putting two and two together about the real nature of humanity even before leaving the hospital, where his first sensory experiences included the shouts of sick people arguing to get treatment they urgently needed, visitors staring vacantly at smartphones as they sat next to bedridden loved ones, televisions blaring the empty rhetoric and emotionally manipulative appeals of political advertisements, and dozens upon dozens of pained, desperate cries, including his own.

Local reports confirmed the baby’s disillusionment was only compounded by the fact that he spent his first days in the bleak and soulless suburban conformity of Schaumburg, IL, its empty consumerist non-culture allowing him to realize in record time that all human pursuits are cold, joyless, and devoid of any substantive purpose or integrity.

“For a baby, he sure is an insightful little guy,” Nathan’s mother, Melanie Jameson, told reporters. “My husband and I are a loveless, narcissistic couple whose weird, freaked-out neediness and anxieties—which we sublimate under a mask of facile self-regard—would normally be introjected into our child’s forming psyche over the course of years. But this talented fella just took it all in at once!”

Those sportswriters and fans who are now shrieking about how the integrity of the NFL has been damaged by the use of replacement referees are pissing in the wind. Obviously, the billionaires who run the league could not give a shit about the game’s integrity just so long as they can keep reaping billions of dollars in profits from it. Winning is nice, but making money is all they really care about. If you were to hold a gun to the head of any NFL owner and force them to answer honestly whether they would rather have their team win five Super Bowl Championships or receive a sweetheart new stadium deal with plenty of luxury skyboxes from the taxpayers of his state, I guarantee you that every single one of them would take the stadium deal over the Lombardi Trophies. That’s what separates them from the idiot fans who root for each team: the fans genuinely care whether the team wins or not.

It’s the same thing across all aspects of American society. Yesterday, I posted again about Bain Capital closing the Sensata manufacturing plant in my hometown of Freeport, Illinois, and sending the jobs off to China. You would think that such a horrendous action would rip the heart out of anyone who really cares about this country and about the welfare of its citizens, but clearly the sociopathic assholes who run Bain Capital and the poodle politicians they keep in their back pocket—from Willard Romney to President Hopey-Changey—do not care about America any more than those NFL owners do about the supposed “integrity of the game.”

What’s most amusing to me about this latest tempest in a Hologram teapot is that there actually is a very good lesson to be learned from this debacle even if you are not a sports fan. In fact, let me briefly summarize the issue for those you who do not spend your autumn Sunday afternoons glued to your television screens.

The NFL is run by a group of 31 billionaire owners (and the Green Bay Packers, who are owned by the city of Green Bay) who just signed a $20 billion national television contract to broadcast their mediocre games into every household in the land. That big, fat wad of teevee cash virtually guarantees that the owners will make a profit every year no matter how well they manage (or mismanage) their teams. Moreover,

for the past 30 years NFL commissioners have been steadfastly pushing league player personnel rules in such a way to encourage “parity” (mediocrity), meaning that the talent level on each team now evens out enough so that there are no true dynasties anymore and most individual games are closely fought contests. This “balance” is supposed to generate even more fan excitement and interest (and, not incidentally get them spending even more of their hard earned money on NFL merchandise).

Unfortunately, there is one little problem that comes with parity, and that is the nature of the game itself, in which subjective penalties called by the referees in a tight contest—pass interference, holding and personal fouls in particular—can swing the results of an individual game one way or another and one bad call can negate the strenuous efforts of the players on the field. So here you have a league in which the quality of play has already been deliberately watered down, resulting in many close games in which the quality of the refereeing is already crucial to maintaining its integrity as an athletic competition, and what do those billionaire owners with the $20 billion television contract do?

Try to save a few paltry million dollars by locking out the regular referees and bringing in a bunch of incompetent scabs to replace them. There just could not be any more fitting metaphor for what the oligarchs who really run this country have been doing to the workers for the past 30 years with the complicity of the bought-and-paid for politicians.

" But I don't mean to just deplore the situation. It is what it is, and we are at a certain juncture of history because of the choices we have made, and we'll have to see how the consequences roll out. Here's how I see some of them.

The Romney election fiasco will destroy the Republican Party, just as the Whig party fell apart in the last days of Millard Fillmore.

The religious nuts and Dixieland ignoranti will demand the expulsion of all non-extremists and Karl Rove will be left at the Nascar track with Honey Boo Boo on his lap and a dwindling "base" of shrieking microcephalics awaiting the second coming of Adolf Hitler in a green satin Mountain Dew race-day jumpsuit.

Respectable conservatives (they exist) will have to take their pleadings elsewhere, the venue or party yet-to-be determined, perhaps off-shore somewhere where the downtrodden sew blue jeans and counterfeit Louis Vuitton handbags. "

Chinook helicopter shot down in Arghandab district Qari Yousuf Ahmadi E-mail Print PDF Tuesday, 16 Dzulka'edah 1433 Tuesday, 02 October 2012 07:06

ZABUL, Oct. 02 – Officials reporting from Zabul province say that yesterday on the 1st of October, a Chinook helicopter of foreign troops was shot down by Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate early afternoon time near Arghandab district center as the enemy forces were leaving after carrying out a raid.

The helicopter caught fire in midair before violently crashing onto the ground and getting engulfed in flames, killing all the invaders and crew aboard, according to witnesses who add that the area was later cordoned off from public for an extended period while medical helicopters made multiple rounds removing the enemy corpses from site.

This incident comes as blatant lies were published by American Generals and officials claiming that only 2000 invaders have been killed in Afghanistan in the past decade. The invaders are notoriously known for either flat out denying incidents or deflating the number of their dead in order to keep the opinion of their public in favor of prolonging the invasion of Afghanistan."

Title: Breaking news: New oil sheen near site of Deepwater Horizon disaster Source: Stuart H. Smith Date: Oct 3 2012

[...]

Experts had predicted such oil leaks would likely take place after the Deepwater Horizon rig was capped. That’s because the blocked oil continues to seek a path to the surface, and that could create fissures or cracks in the sea floor for the hydrocarbons to escape. This situation is exactly what we’d warned about in 2010 — that the rig diaster, caused by BP’s reckless and foolish actions, would continue to wreak havoc on the Gulf environment for years to come.

"Title: In the tank? Feds scrub incident report about Gulf spill near BP rig Source: Stuart H. Smith Date: Oct 4 2012

[...]

Here’s what the initial report from NOAA’s Office of Response and Restoration said:

This hotline is being started for new reports of sheen of unknown origin in and near lease block Mississippi Canyon 252. This incident is likely related to reports in August 2011 (See incident #8345, Aug2011). Although the source of these sheens may be the wrecked BP Macondo Well, this relationship has not been established at this time. Activities include daily overflights sponsored by BP, with USCG or NOAA observers on board intermitently. BP is sending a vessel to the area with an ROV to investigate the potential source.

However, that report is no longer on the web site as of last night. Instead, this is what visitors see instead:

Incident #8510 does not exist, has been deleted, or you do not have permission to view it.

[...]

On one level, this is simply stunning. On the other hand, it’s in many ways typical of the way that the federal government has acted since Day One of the Deepwater Horizon disaster

[...]

It also may be a sign that the new oil spill at the Macondo site is more serious than the feds want to let on. Since breaking the news yesterday about NOAA’s original incident report, I’ve been investigating tips that vessels loaded with absorbent booms have been observed recently leaving the Breton Sound marine terminal at Hopedale, and that numerous fishermen who work the waters around the Macondo field have reported fresh sightings of the oil sheen.

And That's only the First Decision of Many to come.
October 04, 2012 "Information Clearing House" - No matter whether Obama or Romney wins the coming presidential election, American working people will face a savage assault on their economic rights starting after the vote. The asset stripper Romney and his sidekick Ryan have openly demanded the shredding of the existing social safety net, while channeling the proceeds to parasitical bankers and hedge fund operators. Obama, using his usual method of deception, has signaled more discreetly his intention of using the hysteria around the alleged Fiscal Cliff to seal a Grand Bargain with the reactionary Republicans at the expense of the American people during the December lame duck session of Congress.

Austerity and Sacrifice Spell Genocide Against Americans In reality, any demand for more austerity, sacrifice, or cuts in social services on the part of the American people amounts to a demand for genocide — a Nuremberg crime. Real unemployment is now in excess of 30 million people in the United States .

Over 50 million people are in the most extreme poverty, with no job, no unemployment benefits, no welfare system, no health care, and only a meager allotment of food stamps to stay alive.

And Republicans and Democrats agree that food stamps will be next to go! Other families are facing foreclosures by corrupt robo-judges and robo-signers, as the American middle class is crushed under $1 trillion of student loan debt and $1 trillion of high interest credit card debt. All of this follows a secular decline of almost two thirds in the American standard of living over the last four decades.
Gail Tverberg: I see the future as fairly bleak. The big issue is the way high oil prices affect the economy, leading to recession, joblessness, and huge government deficits. The issue is really a lack of cheap oil.

This is an issue that can’t be expected to go away, even with new (high priced) oil supply in the US, or with the possibility of more natural gas supply. We are right now experiencing adverse financial impacts from high oil prices, but these impacts are being disguised by artificially low interest rates and huge amounts of deficit spending.

I find it hard to see much of a ray of hope for avoiding some kind of discontinuity, because the problem seems to be already at hand. For example, I see Europe’s current financial problems and the US’s fiscal cliff as being a direct result of lower energy affordability, especially oil, in recent years."

"It appears to me that we are now hitting some version of “Limits to Growth”. Most economists haven’t figured out the connection between the economy and the natural world, so are oblivious to our current predicament."

The only really profitable way to produce eggs and fried chicken is to do it on a very small, not-for-profit scale. The hen is a distributist. Distributism is an economic philosophy that gained much attention a century ago and is now drawing attention again. It champions the decentralization of the means of production into small, privately owned enterprises, not owned or run by the state or private wealthy oligarchs. It is neither capitalistic nor socialistic. It is chickenistic.

And a btw:

The Weekly Jobs Claims Number was Itself rigged.

Mish blew the whistle, when the BLS stated that a Large State had NOT submitted it's numbers.

The State was California:

The Number was....wait for it....30 000.

Which, when added to the LOW 337 000 number gives you the SAME numbers we've been getting for a while now.

And then Alice fell into the hole.....;}

"

Not only was the WTC apparently designed by a servant of the bin Ladens and named for the Gladioists who killed Kennedy, it was provided with electronic security by a company based in Kuwait and largely owned by Marvin Bush, the President's brother.

You see, money goes both ways. Not only does known terrorist financier and one-time major investor in the Bank of Cocaine and Crooks International Khalid bin Mahfouz have a history as an investor in Bush businesses, specifically Dubya's Harken energy,

but the Bush family can also invest in Arab businesses. I hope the rumours about bin Mahfouz being ObL's half brother aren't true, or this could start to look sinister. Incriminating, one could almost say. At least it was quite a successful investment, unlike any investment in a company run by Dubya, in that this Kuwaiti company was successful enough to run the electronic security on 9/11 for not only the World Trade Centre,

but also for Dulles International Airport and for United Airlines, whose flight 11 was one of those to hit the World Trade Centre. Similar to the Israeli companies running CCTV on the targets of 7/7, which was found to have completely failed at Kings Cross only during the time the "bombers" were passing through, and which had failed on the underground and on both buses taken by the alleged bus bomber."

About as good a Summation as I've seen.

It would be like Tunisia, Egypt and Syria, and, of course, that has not come true.

Instead of having the good sense to cut his losses and pull back, Erdogan is doubling down. He’s doing double-or-nothing; ‘vabonk’, as we say. He’s now gotten himself into this really terrible fix which, of course, could be potentially tragic for the world.

The idea that you’re going to interfere with a Russian cargo on a Syrian commercial airliner is really outside of the normal realm, and it makes Erdogan look like an unstable, erratic, mercurial kind of leader and not at all what he wanted to be.

Now, of course, he’s got a diplomatic row with Russia. The Russian foreign minister has called in the Turkish ambassador. They’ve demanded explanations. That’s a pretty tense scene going on there.

The plane was carrying a cargo sent by a legal Russian supplier in a legal way to a legal customer. This cargo included electrical equipment for a radar station, dual purpose equipment not prohibited by international conventions. Cargo documents have been fully issued in line with standard requirements.

It’s absolutely normal practice to transport this kind of cargo on civilian planes, and this is confirmed by the fact that *even before* the Syrian airplane entered Turkey’s airspace, the Turkish authorities suggested that it either change its course or land in Ankara. The pilot made a landing, since he knew that he was doing nothing illegal.

In conclusion, I will add that according to our data, the supplier will demand the return of the cargo, which is its property.

And finally, we expect an official explanation from the Turkish side as to why Turkey refused to grant Russian diplomats access to their fellow citizens aboard that plane.

Russian FM Lavrov

Don't fuck with the Russians.....

Stone likes his abortionist better than your abortionist. His abortionist sends jobs to China, after his company's employees are forced to train their Chinese replacements.

You a liar or stupid or both?

But after reviewing numerous corporate filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, contemporary news accounts, company histories and press releases, and the evidence offered by both the Obama and Romney campaigns, we found no evidence to support the claim that Romney — while he was still running Bain Capital — shipped American jobs overseas.
