Cult Watch Title: Zionist Organization Of America Chief Stresses Speaking Up For Israel At a recent appearance at Palm Beach Synagogue, Morton A. Klein, national president of Zionist Organization of America and AIPAC executive committee member, stressed the importance of speaking up for Israel. "What makes ZOA different from all other Jewish-American organizations is our honesty," he said. "ZOA is different from ADL and AJC because we believe that a politician's hostility toward Israel should be carefully examined and exposed in order that they be held accountable. "We believe that there should be no attempt to stifle or limit the free speech rights of the public or of candidates for office who wish to challenge their opponents' hostile or harmful policies on Israel," Klein said. Klein went on to say that ZOA is different from AIPAC in that "we oppose the creation of a Palestinian-Arab state and continued funding of the Palestinian Authority, due to the Palestinians' ongoing support for terrorism, incitement of hatred and rejection of Israel's right to exist." Klein noted that recent polls show that 90 percent of Palestinians under age 25 years do not accept Israel's right to exist, and that 85 percent of Palestinians oppose peace if it means compromise on any core issue. He also said 73 percent of Palestinians agree with the Islamic verse quoted in the Hamas Charter calling for Jews to be killed. "These are the kind of facts that most other Jewish-American organizations prefer to ignore, and that ZOA works to expose," he said "Once people know the truth, they invariably agree that the idea of establishing a Palestinian terror-state is entirely unreasonable, and that Israel should no longer be pressured into suicidal negotiations with people who only seek her destruction." In an interview with the Jewish Journal, Klein underscored his remarks to those gathered at Palm Beach Synagogue. "The PA has fraudulently violated the three main parts of the peace agreement," he said. "One, they don't arrest anti-Israel terrorists and instead, glorify them. Two, they don't accept Israel's right to exist all maps show Israel as part of Palestine. And three, it doesn't end the incitement to violence against Jews." He added that the U.S. should "stop giving 900 million dollars a year to the P.A. and stop promoting statehood until the P.A. fulfills these obligations." Klein said he plans to urge Congress and rabbis to "speak up" about the P.A. peace agreement violations. "And I'll also be urging [Prime Minister] Netanyahu to speak up about this." Rabbi Moshe Scheiner of Palm Beach synagogue was impressed by Klein's address. "Morton Klein really educates his listeners to see the bigger picture," Scheiner said. "He presents facts and figures that are very compelling." Scheiner noted that Israel's size is very small compared to the Arab states. "And yet, they ask Israel to trade land for peace." Klein made it clear that a two-state solution would be "very bad" for Israel, Scheiner noted. "All the other Jewish organizations are in favor of a two-state solution and ZOA is the only one that isn't." Dr. Sanford Kuvin was at Palm Beach Synagogue to hear Klein. The longtime member of the synagogue was also impressed by what Klein had to say. "Mr. Klein is one of the most outstanding speakers I've heard," he noted. "He said the Obama Administration is clearly on the wrong path regarding Israel." Kuvin agreed with Klein's perspective on other Jewish organizations who have not spoken up "out of fear of being politically incorrect." "Jews have to reassess their positions as members of the Jewish Diaspora," the Palm Beach resident said. Copyright © 2012, South Florida Sun-Sentinel
