I am only going to tell you ONCE...

If you don't like Newt, fine. Promote your own candidate.

If I see any more stuff that you post to destroy him, I will remove you.

I'm fed up.

and not just with YOU. With all the assassins.

LP WILL NOT BE ANY PART OF THE CHARACTER ASSASSINATION OF A CONSERVATIVE FOUNDER.

If you don't like it, post elsewhere.

I'm sorry you feel this way. But while you may have worked on a cpl issues with Newt, I worked with him and his staff for a cpl years. He is NOT a "CONSERVATIVE FOUNDER."

I will not say another word, as it is your site. But please do not try to sell me a pig in a poke. Thank You

That's my position. The difference between Obama and any opponent is so glaring it doesn't matter if it all comes down to measuring pins and needles. Who is more conservative is such a silly fight; no different that the ones here and elsewhere.

I'd probably feel differently if I was younger and energized to kick the traces but there's no oomph anymore for that kind of street fighting.

I don't see how the Republicans expect to win with the field they have but hell, I'd rather see them give up on POTUS and try to take the Senate and hold the House ridding themselves of McConnell & Bonoir so they can get something done against Obama.

We are screwed royally with 4 more years of Obama and Democrat Senate.

Interesting change of "heart" for a defender of the "gay brigade," a goat-herder, an active, card carrying ACLU member and a Democrat. When did you have your epiphany, this morning while realizing that your gal Sally has spread her legs for Newt Gingrich, one of the worst son-of-a-bitches to cloak himself in "Republican" cloth?

How utterly, quaint.

OTOH: I don't think anyone with a legitimate complaint against a candidate should be SILENCED either.

For myself, I will vote for anyone (haven't made my mind up yet) if it keeps Obama out of the WH, but the one issue I dissagree with Newt about will affect this nation in ways most haven't stopped to think about.

IF he is elected he may grant amnesty to all the Illegal Aliens who have been here for so many years, and their families too so that they are not separated.

Sounds good if you DON'T stop to think about it....

But if he does get the chance to grant amnesty, citizenship, to tens of millions of Illegal Aliens and their extended families, you can bet Newt Gingrich will be the LAST CONSERVATIVE to ever hold the office of president, their sheer numbers will see to it that a Democrat is elected from that day on. "IF he is elected he may give amesty to all the Illegal Aliens who have been here for so many years, and their families too so that they are not separated.

Sounds crazy if you know the truth. There have been far more deportations since President Obama has taken office than we ever saw with the Bush Administration.

He's also put more boots on the border, and none of that is going to help him in getting Latinos and latinas to vote for him.

We are a nation of immigrants, so naturally a sound amnesty policy needs to pass Congress and be signed into law.

Too many good, hard working people have come here to live and work, and done so in a law biding manner to not give them a route toward citizenship.

All draconian anti-immirant laws have ever done is hurt a state's economy. Just look at Georgia and it's law that saw the farmers have to plow under their crops because though they tried, they could not get native born citizens to come out and do the work to help harvest their crops.

Your ignorance on the immigrant question is so breath taking it is mind boggling.

Obviously I don't pay attention to the specifics of any candidate since I'm not voting on issues, only against Obama. I cannot imagine any POTUS would be able to grant amnesty as you have described carte blanche.

There has to be some way to allow the illegals to fess up and get in line for citizenship here or back home without putting everyone in jail.

I certainly do not accept the idea that just because they have children there should be some 'early up'.

We do need to close the damn border.

I think the plan put together by Bush and almost passed by the Congress was a pretty good one. I don't remember the year but the vitriol at FR and LP against any kind of comfort was distressful. Some of the haters are still around but I've not seen Murron joining any pitchfork brigade.

We have used the services of immigrant/migrant labor in our operations in Wisconsin since 1993 and have had no particular problems with e-verify or local authorities. While I don't personally manage or monitor it when I was more active I always spent time meeting all the employees and their families. Some were transient and others lived here.

We did experience a lack of labor when all of the yelling was going on and it was noted in the local press how unusual it was to see so many caucasians in the fields and running the equipment.

There has never been any round-up here and I've not bailed out any more migrants than locals over the years.

Where do you stand on illegal immigration?

Gingrich: "If you've come here recently, you have no ties to this country, you ought to go home, period," Gingrich said. "If you've been here 25 years and you got three kids and two grandkids, you've been paying taxes and obeying the law, you belong to a local church, I don't think we're going to separate you from your family, uproot you forcefully and kick you out."

"I'm prepared to take the heat for saying let's be humane in enforcing the law without giving them citizenship, but by finding a way to create legality so that they are not separated from their families."

Question: How do you "create legality" for Illegal Aliens without granting amnesty, or citizenship?

Murron  posted on  2012-01-28   18:10:30 ET  Reply   Trace   Private Reply

Good post. I have lost jobs when I worked in the woods because of an influx of immigrant labor, and at my current job I am having to work harder because a company that is owned by immigrants consistently tries to outbid us and thus we have had to leave money on the table to keep clients, and more work is expected out of us all working there to make us competitive enough to stay in business,

However, that is the inherent nature of the free enterprise system, isn't it?

We will survive, and the nation will actually be stronger with the influx of people who have great work ethics, on the whole obey the law and do not cause trouble and add to our collective cultural melting pot.

I take people as they come, I do not snub someone for being Hispanic and from Mexico. Hell, I am a quarter Puerto Rican myself, and the Irish in me used to be very discriminated against complete with "No Irish Need Apply" signs, and slurs such as "Irish are White 'N' word people.

I have friends who were directly involved as workers in companies that killed the Reforestation firm I worked for. That's water over the dam. They are good people and i am proud to know the ones I call friends.

I guess that is where the 'get in line' part comes in for the ones that have been around a long time. You've got to have faith that the ones that want citizenship will ask for it and the others will chose to go back home and take their children with them.

Sounds fair enough to me.

"Question: How do you "create legality" for Illegal Aliens without granting amnesty, or citizenship?"

It's been done throughout our entire history, as there have always been people coming here illegally.

I have family back in New England who talk about the recent influx of Irish nationals now the economy has gone south there.

Many people here have descendants who were illegals from all over the world.

When they come here, prove their meddle by working hard, create new businesses, get education that make them valuable human assets because many others who were born and raised didn't bother to, or show in many other ways they are worthwhile candidates for citizenship, why be petty?

Opening the borders for a free for all, or draconian laws crippling Georgian agriculture are extremes that are no answer to the problem, so a compromise somewhere in the middle that calls for some amnesty just makes good sense.

His statements that Paul Ryan's meager attempts at budget cuts were "radical, right wing social engineering".

His siding with Pelosi on global warming and co-sponsoring 418 bills with her, he supported the healthcare individual mandate in his book, "Real Change", he was the Southern regional director for the Presidential campaign of liberal Republican Nelson Rockefeller, he was a lobbyist for ethanol subsidy recipients, he supported the bailouts and said he would have voted for TARP, he supported the funding of Planned Parenthood, has promoted the idea of a "cap and trade" carbon trading, supports amnesty for illegals, toured the country with Al Sharpton promoting the socialist education policies of the Obama administration...

The Obama Administration today announced a virtual amnesty-by-decree for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, whose deportations will be “indefinitely delayed”. In addition, Obama finally announced a jobs program – but for ILLEGAL ALIENS, not citizens – as those 300,000 illegals will also become eligible for “work permits“.

Newt is NOT a conservative founder and LP, which is read by what... maybe 30 people daily on average, could not possibly have any affect whatsoever on national politics.

I disagree with you perhaps on the issue, but I respect where you are coming from, and an always willing to debate the issue with you.

It's nice to be able to discuss and even disagree without being disagreeable.

I do sometimes have a point blank way of discussion that many take as being adversarial, though that is not my intention. Usually. ;o)

Paul Ryan is a douche bag. His plan was timid. What do you think Newt was referring to that was "social engineering"? Maybe it is true.

Newt is pretty conservative. What is liberal about him?

One of his first votes in Congress helped create the Dept. of Education.

Other votes helped create the North American Free Trade Agreement and the World Trade Organization.

These are all 'new ideas' endorsed by Newt along with carbon-credits, prescription drugs for seniors, and most recently a moon colony.

Welfare reform. Balancing the budget. Newt did those things.

And yet there are more people today collecting government checks than ever before.

As far as balancing the budget, you have to differentiate between the executive budget and the national debt, which grew with Newt as Speaker. Balancing the budget can be done with reduced spending, raising taxes or even shady accounting methods.

If the debt grew, there were definitely no spending cuts.

Paul Ryan is a douche bag. His plan was timid.

I agree. Yet Newt called his plan radical. That's what you get with Newt. One day he'll say one thing and the next day he'll say another, and he's been on both sides of almost every issue, saying whatever the audience in front of him wants to hear.

Yeah,ok,but other than minor little things like that what has he done to show he is a system tool?

I am opposed to Medicare. I am opposed to 3rd party payer. And I sure as hell don't want the feds fucking with my care choices. People would be a hell of a lot better off with direct pay and eliminate the millions of dollars wasted on bureaucrats including the insurance companies.

It's for certain, unless a person has gone over to the side of idiocy and worships her sacred cow and is content with not knowing all there is to know about a candidate, they'll have to go elsewhere for their news.

She needn't bother bozoing me, a person so far gone who foams at the mouth and threatens members, dictates what they can, and can't say about presidential cadidates isn't worth me wasting my time in debate. jmho!

it always amazes me that these political forums, ban people who don't agree with their personal picks, then do a complete 180 if there candidate doesn't win the nomination.

i sure LP and FR will be big romney supporters if he gets the nomination.

I'm convinced the magg's is the 'veronica' on FR that I used to spar with. You and petey agree on this.

Hi Fred,

Your reply to sneaky got me curious about Marguerite. I've never had the feeling that she is the old 'veronica'; you might ask mel or diva what they think but anyway I did a search on communications between the rabid Zionist crowd and lo and behold:

www.libertypost.org/cgi- b...tNum=169186&Disp=220#C220

Marguerite is only veronica if she has had a frontal lobotomy. She can get testy and bossy but not like the passive/aggressive nuthatch from New Yawk.

Yes,I did mean Veronica.

She did a good job masking herself from me; I'll give her that. She's an evil one.

There can be no doubt about her being both single-minded with her focus on what's best for Israel,or her being smart. Every once in a while her passion will get the best of her,and then you can see it.

Mercuria

There is a screen name I haven't seen in years. I miss seeing her post. Anytime you got into a debate with her you had better have your ducks in a row or she would hand you your ass in a second.

IIRC,she got mad at me for some now forgotten reason, and quit answering my posts.

There was another sharp one whose screen name I can't remember right now that I miss even more than Merc. She was from New Orleans, and some creek from FR had cyber-love for her and started stalking her. She backed WAAAY down from posting once he started describing her street and apartment window. I got a few emails from her when LP first came online, but she soon dropped out totally from all I can tell.

I don't know if you remember her or not,but Fred probably does. Smoking hot with killer legs and a mind to match.

No,it isn't. Cal was (is?) a lot more capable of protecting herself than the one I am thinking about. This young woman was a redhead and I know about the looks and legs because she was identified in a group photo of the first FR Washington DC get together.

I had forgotten all about Cal and her being from Louisiana. Last I heard she was making her living as some sort of political press assistant.

buckeroo and Jackelope Breeder used to converse with her many years ago, if I remember correctly.

We did so even back on FR ... remember buckeroo's fantastick posts on FR? We certainly did so on on LP. But CAL (I often called her COW on LP) was just another swine as it turns out. You affectionately use Connie's name on LF as though you knew her crap to involve the USA in the liberation of IRAQ back in 2001. Her motives were never for the proper use of the US military; her motives were for her fat ass job cookin' in the GOP.

Some son-of-a-bitche's just beg to go out of their way to involve me for all the CRAP you MUTHERFUCKERS spread around because of your "recollections" or epiphanies.

You should not worry about me or COW or anyone's ass other than your own, goat herder. You should be very worried about all the despair YOU created whether you want to admit it or not, goat herder.

WTP asked about Cal and since I had already pulled up some old posts at LP I noticed you and JB were actively involved in the kerfluffle over Simcox with Cal (Connie Hair) and she certainly has never been my friend. and mel. I was at one time. I even went to DC when he was sworn in as Speaker, and met him as a part of a conservative Republican group.

Then (in MY opinion) the Dims and RINO's got together and drummed him out of office and then used some sort of blackmail to keep him out of the public eye for several years.

Now he is suddenly back, and I am suspiscious. Especially given some of the things he defends now. I no longer trust him. Not even a little.

Some call Newt ....a Clintonista : )
Back searching the net...it seems Bill and the Magi got dirt on Newt and made him play the game,...maybe even a tour in the backroom with the Magi.
Newt dabbled in the Globalism.....yet it seems He could not convince the Magi he was one of them,
Pelosi's recent remark and slapdown hints at this.
For me....seeing America thru the eyes of Charlotte Iserbyt who outed the Raygun admin for Soviet model education,un elected officials and regionalism
all this..back in that day,...showed the Conspiracy was real....and occurring under a supposed Conservative admin.

Today,...not much is surprising....the overt lying and spin cycle is on par with anything contrived from the fake YHWH Religions.
What troubles me...is that Americans will compromise their personal intergity,...in order that they be numbered among the winning.
That Newt Gingrich with all his baggage is a candidate the Tea Party ..the supposed Spirit Filled and the Conservatives would get behind is alarming.

Benedict Arnold would be on the ticket if he were alive today : )
