Michele Bachmann wants a radio ad that she thinks implies her endorsement of Newt Gingrich pulled off the air in South Carolina.
A lawyer for the Minnesota congresswoman sent a letter to radio stations Friday night saying that a spot being aired by the pro-Gingrich super PAC Winning our Future uses a clip from an introduction Bachmann delivered when Gingrich fundraised for her during a previous congressional campaign. The text of that speech, she says, was provided by Gingrichs staff.
WOF has edited a recording of Congresswoman Bachmanns introductory remarks at a congressional event, held to raise money for her re-election to the US Congress, where Speaker Gingrich spoke in praise of the Congresswoman, writes William McGinley of Patton Boggs, who also represents the Bachmann for President campaign. The ad falsely intermingled a voice-overs misleading statements about the purpose of her remarks to intentionally leave your listeners with the false impression that Congresswoman Bachmann has endorsed, or is supporting, Speaker Gingrichs presidential candidacy in the 2012 Republican primary.
Bachmann has not endorsed anyone, and shes done nothing to indicate that she intends to weigh in anytime soon.
Theres no sign of the ad apparently titled Bachmann on the internet.
A Winning our Future spokesman did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
