Just picked it up today!
1970 Chevy K10, half ton 4X4, 350 small block, factory air, factory tach, factory tilt wheel & cab light.
Needs some work but in damned good shape for a 42 year old truck.
Problem is that I want at least seating for four that can get through the trees around here, so that makes the pool smaller.
Yeah,I would imagine it would. I've never even seen one,but since I don't live in snow country I know next to nothing about them. I did hear from a guy in my Old Fart antique car circle about a man in Minot,ND that is supposed to have dozens for sale and is reputed to be a VERY honest guy. He likes to ride them and bought up every one he could get his hands on for years so he could rebuild and play with them. I have been told he is a very motivated seller because he needs the time and money to work on his antique cars. Not to mention the storage space. Mostly the time. He's gotten older just like the rest of us and wants to spend more time on his antique cars.
Maybe you could post a "want to buy snowmobiles and parts" ad on the Minot Craigs List or the local paper and either buy what you want,or even buy them all and make a bundle repairing them or selling them for parts in Alaska? He probbly has enough of that stuff to fill a large shipping container, and it might just be worth your while financially to rent a container and ship them to you by rail?
Ever ride in a sno-cat of any sort?
No. I've only seen them on tv and in movies. I know nothing about them.
They're very kewl.
I don't doubt it. Pretty much everything that goes fast that you can slide around is fun.
If you don't know what you are doing you can REALLY get yer tit in a wringer real fast.
BUT there is NO better way to travel OVER snow with a load and people.
I've ridden in brands that I don't even remember now. Those old ones were real labor intensive. Most tracked rigs are. But when you have juggies and miners and loggers et. al. using them ... well ...
When you aren't insulting the service, and courage, and sacrifices of the entire US NAVY; the Seventh fleet, DesRon15, my ships, my shipmates, my FAMILY, my STATE and ME. During OUR service IN Vietnam.
Or when you aren't calling US or ME; a LIAR, a COWARD and a FRAUD.
I can accept that you have serious mental problems, you certainly have had reason to develop them IF what you claim is true.
I have absolutely zero interest in making your life more pleasant or otherwise.
Frankly pete I have been talking about this particular dance that you seem to so love.
Where YOU seem to think that YOU get to say who is and who is not a real vet.
It doesn't matter fuck all what YOU "think" or "feel", the US GOOBERMENT/US Department of Defense/US NAVY say fucking otherwise.
VSM with three stars, CAR, MUC with two stars, Shellback.
Kiss my ASS.
This is where the breakdown begins on this thread. It is also kind of off topic.
Perhaps they should let more of the residents of MD's asylum get a chance to post purely for our entertainment. I am afraid they might have to use physical restraints on the Dawg as he is known to begin frothing at the mouth and throwing chairs in outrage at the members of this forum
One of the reasons (although it is minor) I enjoy LF is that I no longer use dictionaries from well known and authoritative websites for some English words such as "hypocrite" and "insanity" and "bizarre" and "psycho-babble." Of course I could go on but you are very bright and can see the trend as I have presented it.
You see for those above terms and the like, all I have to do is come to LF and see Mad Dog's famous posts. In fact, I rarely use a dictionary anymore with him creating posts yapping & barking & snarling at folks that want to make a meaningful post.
