"You know, I don't think it's a good idea," Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Paul Westcott on New Hampshire's WGIR-AM while campaigning on behalf of his father. "Because people have been asking me for a couple years now if the Tea Party is going to stay within the Republican Party and I've been saying that the Tea Party has power and influence by primarily keeping Republicans and making them more consistent with their platform and their principles."
"But if the Tea Party branches off it will be a certain election for President Obama and there hasn't been any evidence that third parties -- look at Perot, which was the biggest movement we've had in recent years," Rand Paul added.
