LP, CP, or RP; you might as well cut the middleman and vote directly for Barry.
A big government, police state loving war monger with an R behind his name is no different to me than a big government, police state loving war monger with a D behind his name. You both believe in the same thing, the only argument among you is whether to spend all of our money on the welfare state or the warfare state.
A big government, police state ....the warfare state.
Whatever. A vote for a 3rd Party is a vote for Obama. Too bad, but reality sucks sometimes.
A viable 3rd Party will never start from the top down. If one is ever to gain any traction in the US it with start will local officials and Congressman getting elected and building on their numbers until it gains enough office holders for credibility. That's just the way it is. Again, too bad, but reality sucks sometimes.
Opinions of leftist Republicans hold no water with me.
Obviously neither does history. My opinions may hold no water, but water is wet and the sky is blue. It doesn't matter how many bong hits the Paultards take, that will not change.
The simple minded in daydream land will never learn, but numbers don't lie.
Popular vote 1996- Slick Willy: 47,402,357 (49.2%) Bob Dole: 39,198,755 (40.7%) Ross Perot: 8,085,402 (8.4%)
Popular vote 1992- Slick Willy: 44,909,326 (43.0%) Bush 41: 39,103,882 (37.4%) Ross Perot: 19,741,657 (18.9%)
If someone is mathematically challenged enough to believe Ron Paul can win the election, they might as well believe that Barry Obama's magic Stimulus and his $15 trillion deficit will create jobs and end the Depression.
And I resent being called a "Leftist Republican", I have been around long enough, and made enough posts to establish my basic domestic libertarian, fiscal conservative credentials. I was kicked off FR in '03 for bashing Bush, but voted for him in '04 knowing Kerry was worse. I didn't eat breakfast on election day '08 because I was afraid I'd barf voting for Juan McAmnesty, but if a pile of dog shit were running against BHO, I'd vote for it. Voting against a candidate does not make one a supporter of his opponent. Of all the rejects running for the GOP nomination, none is worse than Obama.
People have a great misconception in this way, they think the way they solve things is by electing the right people. Its nice to elect the right people, but that isnt the way you solve things. The way you solve things is by making it politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right things. --------- Milton Friedman
I will cast my vote for Ron Paul, the Libertarian candidate or the Constitution Party candidate because their stated political beliefs best match my own. That is why I cast a vote for a person. As far as I am concerned you and those those who think like you do are being manipulated by the Democrat/Republican political machine. They count on you thinking the way you do. That type of thinking is why nothing ever changes and the government keeps growing.
You can fool yourself into believing that you are voting against Obama but you don't cast a vote against a person, you cast it for a person. There is no "anyone but Obama" candidate. When you cast a vote for a leftist Republican like the ones running, you give approval to their agenda. You are telling them that you agree and support their big government, police state, war mongering agenda.
The fact of the matter is that as long as you and those who think like you are so short sighted that you will vote for a Republican no matter how leftist they are in order to keep a Democrat out of power you will continue to get leftist Republicans like the ones running now.
As far as the idea that any Republican would be better than Obama, I don't believe that for a second. Daddy Bush was worse than Reagan, Clinton was worse than Daddy Bush, Baby Bush was worse than Clinton, Obama is worse than baby Bush and whatever leftist Republican comes after Obama will be worse than Obama. Both parties have a single agenda and that agenda will be implemented as long as people continue to allow themselves to be manipulated by the R/D political machine. I don't think things will be any different under a Republican than they were under Obama. In case you forgot, baby Bush and the Republican party grew the size of government more than any group of people since LBJ. They implemented the police state legislation that Obama has expanded upon. That being the case, I don't care which one of them get elected.
Of course you will disagree with me and consider me a leftist and I will disagree with you and consider you a leftist. And that's the way the world goes around.
