I doubt if Dr. Paul will run as a third party candidate unfortunately, meaning I will have to cast my vote for the LP or CP candidate.

Double dip recession deteriorates into a depression even the MSM can't ignore.

And your party is just as much to blame for that happening as are the 'rats.

A big government, police state loving war monger with an R behind his name is no different to me than a big government, police state loving war monger with a D behind his name. You both believe in the same thing, the only argument among you is whether to spend all of our money on the welfare state or the warfare state.

Obama can't run on his record so all he has left is starting a war with Iran and trying to run as a wartime president in the hopes that the American people won't "change horses in the middle of the stream" (I believe that was the term baby Bush used in 2004).

Whatever. A vote for a 3rd Party is a vote for Obama. Too bad, but reality sucks sometimes.

A viable 3rd Party will never start from the top down. If one is ever to gain any traction in the US it with start will local officials and Congressman getting elected and building on their numbers until it gains enough office holders for credibility. That's just the way it is. Again, too bad, but reality sucks sometimes.

Opinions of leftist Republicans hold no water with me.

Obviously neither does history. My opinions may hold no water, but water is wet and the sky is blue. It doesn't matter how many bong hits the Paultards take, that will not change.

The simple minded in daydream land will never learn, but numbers don't lie.

Popular vote 1996-
Slick Willy: 47,402,357 (49.2%)
Bob Dole: 39,198,755 (40.7%)
Ross Perot: 8,085,402 (8.4%)

Popular vote 1992-
Slick Willy: 44,909,326 (43.0%)
Bush 41: 39,103,882 (37.4%)
Ross Perot: 19,741,657 (18.9%)

If someone is mathematically challenged enough to believe Ron Paul can win the election, they might as well believe that Barry Obama's magic Stimulus and his $15 trillion deficit will create jobs and end the Depression.

And I resent being called a "Leftist Republican", I have been around long enough, and made enough posts to establish my basic domestic libertarian, fiscal conservative credentials. I was kicked off FR in '03 for bashing Bush, but voted for him in '04 knowing Kerry was worse. I didn't eat breakfast on election day '08 because I was afraid I'd barf voting for Juan McAmnesty, but if a pile of dog shit were running against BHO, I'd vote for it. Voting against a candidate does not make one a supporter of his opponent. Of all the rejects running for the GOP nomination, none is worse than Obama.

“People have a great misconception in this way, they think the way they solve things is by electing the right people. It’s nice to elect the right people, but that isn’t the way you solve things. The way you solve things is by making it politically profitable for the wrong people to do the right things.”

I will cast my vote for Ron Paul, the Libertarian candidate or the Constitution Party candidate because their stated political beliefs best match my own. That is why I cast a vote for a person. As far as I am concerned you and those those who think like you do are being manipulated by the Democrat/Republican political machine. They count on you thinking the way you do. That type of thinking is why nothing ever changes and the government keeps growing.

You can fool yourself into believing that you are voting against Obama but you don't cast a vote against a person, you cast it for a person. There is no "anyone but Obama" candidate. When you cast a vote for a leftist Republican like the ones running, you give approval to their agenda. You are telling them that you agree and support their big government, police state, war mongering agenda.

The fact of the matter is that as long as you and those who think like you are so short sighted that you will vote for a Republican no matter how leftist they are in order to keep a Democrat out of power you will continue to get leftist Republicans like the ones running now.

As far as the idea that any Republican would be better than Obama, I don't believe that for a second. Daddy Bush was worse than Reagan, Clinton was worse than Daddy Bush, Baby Bush was worse than Clinton, Obama is worse than baby Bush and whatever leftist Republican comes after Obama will be worse than Obama. Both parties have a single agenda and that agenda will be implemented as long as people continue to allow themselves to be manipulated by the R/D political machine. I don't think things will be any different under a Republican than they were under Obama. In case you forgot, baby Bush and the Republican party grew the size of government more than any group of people since LBJ. They implemented the police state legislation that Obama has expanded upon. That being the case, I don't care which one of them get elected.

Of course you will disagree with me and consider me a leftist and I will disagree with you and consider you a leftist. And that's the way the world goes around.

    HQ......please!

OK, so we should take your advice and vote for whatever leftist Republican whom the RNC chooses to grace us with?

If that's what we are to do, then you're asking us to vote for a leftist. Not vote our conscience, not vote for a conservative, not vote for whom WE feel is the best man for the job, but to vote for a leftist to keep another leftist out.

And how many years have Americans been doing this, and how far left have we moved because of it?

Your plea to keep the status quo, R & D bullshit going indefinitely, I hope to GOD is falling on deaf ears.

    You are cheer-leading for insanity.

Your plea to keep the status quo

It never was a plea to keep the status quo, it's commonsense to minimize the damage from the radical left now ruling from the White House and Senate. As I've already stated, build the 3rd Party from the ground up, it can't be done from the top down. Any POTUS from a 3rd party has to get some cooperation from Congress. No way can RP be elected, but for a hypothetical argument say he is, as a 3rd party or even as a Republican. No way would he get anything done, both parties in Congress would block anything he tried. Ronald Reagan managed it somehow with a Democrat Congress and a RINO minority, but Ron Paul ain't no Ronald Reagan.

If Barry H Obama gets another 4 years, a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th Party isn't going to do any good, we'll have passed the point of no return. The priority in 2012 is to get BHO out of the White House and work from there.

I completely understand your reasoning, but I can't agree with it.

I can't get past the point where I'm being asked to support and vote for the least leftist of 2 leftists.

If Barry H Obama gets another 4 years, a 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th Party isn't going to do any good, we'll have passed the point of no return.

I've heard that many times over the years. It's this leftist or that leftist who is the devil and will kill us all if he's elected to a second term.

I heard the same with Bill Clinton. It's scare tactics.

At what point do we stop voting for leftists and actually vote for conservatives?

When will the RNC run a conservative? Short answer is, they won't. The only way to win is to NOT play the RNC/DNC shell game. There is no pea under any of the shells.

It is called the veto pin.

A veto is worthless when 66% Congress would love nothing better than an opportunity to make a political show of overriding it.

Again, for the 3rd time on the same thread, if you want a viable 3rd Party POTUS, you have to give him a Congress with enough 3rd Party representation to tame and shame the statist RINOs & Dems into behaving. To accomplish that a 3rd Party has to be built from the ground up with representatives in place waiting on their POTUS. It can't be done from the top down. Attempting to do so is pissing in the ocean at best, and aiding and abetting the radical Left at worse. In the case of Ron Paul, at this time, it is the latter.

Ron Paul is the "good guy" on fiscal issues alone, in fact he's the best in that regard. But he's a danger to himself and others in charge of national defense and foreign policy. There is a world war looming that's going to make Afghanistan and Iraq look like pillow fights, RP is the last person I want for a Commander-in-Chief when it starts.

Besides that, or because of that, he's unelectable.

He is exactly the one you would want. You don't want an evil ruler during ww3. Besides we don't need to be fighting anywhere. All we have to do is use our nuclear deterrent. Any nation that attacks us would be toast. Say that and be serious is all we need.

The only freedom left in the WTC on 9-11 was the freedom of choice to jump and die or burn and die after foreigners denied our planes the freedom to take off and land in peace. Leaders who believe the Mohammadans are going to leave us alone if we come home and hide under our beds are historic illiterates and dangerously naive, in a Chamberlainesque sort of way, imho.
