I don't care what anybody says, this is un-Constitutional as hell.
It's already being done... it's called Guantanamo Bay. Not to mention all the secret prisons that keep "popping up" all over the world. And does the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII ring a bell?

BullBarack. The US Constitution ONLY applies in America, and it only protects Americans and foreigners who are in the US legally. The truth is we could legally round up illegal aliens and hold them in detention centers without them ever seeing a judge if we wanted. We ain't the world daddy.
And does the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII ring a bell?
Does a declared state of war ring a bell?
BTW,I doubt you know this because it only applied to white people and nobody cares what happens to white people, but German and Italian citizens were also held in detainment camps during WW-2.

And we could go around the world plucking up whomever we like, rape and pillage, and hold people indefinitely just.... because?
We ain't the world daddy.
No, we're the world bully!
Does a declared state of war ring a bell?
Does Americans (i.e., US citizens) held indefinitely during the war simply because of their Japanese ethnicity and rampant xenophobia ring a bell?
BTW,I doubt you know this because it only applied to white people and nobody cares what happens to white people, but German and Italian citizens were also held in detainment camps during WW-2.
Equally wrong, and were all of them even Italian and German citizens, or were perhaps some US citizens of German or Italian ancestry?
So since we've been fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, should we be detaining Afghan and Iraqi citizens, or even US citizens of that ancestry and/or ethnicity?
And we could go around the world plucking up whomever we like, rape and pillage, and hold people indefinitely just.... because?
"rape and pillage"???? Getting the vapors, ain't ya,Princess?
We ain't the world daddy.
No, we're the world bully!
Awwww,da poor bab-bays! Guess what? The real world has practically nothing in common with the imaginary world you live in.
Does a declared state of war ring a bell?
Yes it does, but you don't have to declare a state of war exists to make a simple raid. I know you have no first hand knowledge or experience with war, but, trust me on this one, everybody who has been in or seen a war knows the difference between a focused raid and a effort to destroy your country.
Does Americans (i.e., US citizens) held indefinitely during the war simply because of their Japanese ethnicity and rampant xenophobia ring a bell?
A Bull Bell for all the PC bullshit surrounding it. I know you are a leftie, which means by definition you are either unable or unwilling to think, but the fact that the Japanese attacked us in a sneak attack without provocation not only meant a state of war had been thrust on us by a TRULY xenophobic nation, but it also meant anybody living here that looked to be Japanese was in danger of being attacked by non-Asian Americans. This happened to the uncle of one of my best frineds on 8 Dec 1941. His uncle was walking down the street in Chicago to go to the enlistment office to enlist when he was attacked and beaten so badly he was still wearing diapers and needing to be fed in the mid-70's. My friends father did get to enlist, and won a Silver Star while fighting with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.
A few Americans of Japanese descent went to work/fight in the Pacific as translators or interperters, but very few. The reason for this is they were likely to have been killed on sight during the battles to take a island.
Equally wrong, ...
No,equally RIGHT given the time and circumstances. We were at war,and the German Bund movement in this country had been huge pre-war amongst citizens of German background. Wars are serious things, and ebemy agents in your rear are a genuine concern. Maybe not so much now because we now have the technological ability to trace and track anybody anywhere if we want, but things weren't that simple in WW-2.
Now,if you want to bitch about their homes, businesses, and other properties being taken from them while they were in the internment camps,I'm with you 100% on that one. The people behind the plan to profit on this should have been hanged. Not a single one of those people who were never proved to have been anything other than loyal Americans should have lost any of their property, and should have been reimbursed for what they did lose right down to the last freaking dime. Stealing their property had NOTHING to do with protecting the country.

First off,as you well know,in MY opinion we shouldn't be fighting there to start with. Then again, nobody in governemnt wants my opinion.
And as I said above, times are different now. We have the technology now to allow them to sit in place and monitor them to track down leads any may have that will roll up whole networks of foreign agents right here in the US,as well as stop any plans they may have. MUCH more effective methods than just wharehousing them out in the desert somewhere.
