U.S. Officials Consider Release Of Taliban Members As Part Of Peace Talks December 20, 2011 by Sam Rolley A diplomatic plan is emerging which involves measures like the release of many Taliban prisoners. After 10 months of largely secretive talks between U.S. officials and the Taliban, officials say a diplomatic plan is emerging which involves measures like the release of many Taliban prisoners into Afghan government custody. According to Reuters, the United States is considering the transfer of an unknown number of Taliban prisoners from Guantanamo Bay into the custody of the Afghan government. U.S. officials have asked the Taliban to meet the release with confidence-building measures such as denouncing international terrorism and entering formal political talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. The diplomatic strategy is aimed at creating stability in the Afghan region to give the United States an opportunity to stabilize the area before the expected withdrawal of many troops in 2014. Once U.S. troops are gone, the Taliban will have less reason to negotiate. U.S. officials say if the diplomatic efforts fail now, the region could be thrown into violence in 2014. While the U.S. – Taliban peace talks represent a shift in the attitudes of some Taliban factions, it is clear that the network as a whole is not open to diplomacy; many Taliban members have pledged to continue “sacred jihad” against NATO and U.S. soldiers

Since it has never been actually proven that good old Osama was ever there if you are to believe the current theories, our whole foray into that killer of nations, Afghanistan, was based on one big mistake or more likely a lie. As I doubt we will ever know the total rationale, it was probably meant to wipe off the face of the earth our prior mistakes regarding our role during the Russian invasion.

I actually supported going into Afghanistan to wipe out Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. They had a chance to hand Al-Qaeda over and didn't do it. Game over in my book. However, had I known at the time that we'd be there for years engaged in nation building, I wouldn't have supported it. I should have known better.
Bring the troops home since Oilbomber is backing al Queada now. Defund the DHS and give a tax deduction for all money spent on guns and ammo.

If so is it any good???? I have never used any but bought some in 45 ACP at the gun show this past weekend because it's made here in the states.... and it's reasonable too, $17 for 50 rounds of FMJ in reloadable brass cases....

Someone once gave me some 30-06 ammo in steel cases, with like zinc coating. The stuff turned white with corrosion. I never used any of it and eventually threw it away. The coating looked like something you'd see in the gal nail bin at the hardware store. I have been using steel case ammo in 9MM Makarov and 45 ACP and haven't had any problems with them at all..... but then I only use them for target practice so they don't sit very long......
