President Obama believes that Republican leadership of the country would ruin the United States as a land of opportunity, but he's (justifiably) confident that his daughters will have plenty of opportunities, no matter what. "Our kids are going to be fine," Obama told supporters at a campaign event last night. "And I always tell Malia and Sasha, look, you guys, I don't worry about you . . . they’re on a path that is going to be successful, even if the country as a whole is not successful. But that’s not our vision of America. I don't want an America where my kids are living behind walls and gates, and can’t feel a part of a country that is giving everybody a shot." It is good to be the president.

The #1 priority for America's future, in a technology-based, global economy has to be the elimination of the government's monopoly over primary and secondary education. Otherwise, we are doomed as a prosperous country.

When Obama says he wants to spread the wealth around, youse guys call him a communist, when he says he wants his kids to live in a country where all children have an equal shot at the life his daughters can look forward to, you call him an asshole.

Private schools that cost $35,000 per kid per year. Nowhere in the US are public schools funded at that level. Obama and Democrats are not foisting anything on you, conservatives are working hard to destroy public education. You don't like that, then change it. Vote higher taxes to fund public schools at the same level as the private schools you favor.

Beats me. Back in the dark ages when I went to school, there was a science requirement that had to be met before one could graduate from high school, for entry into college, and to graduate from college. Maybe they're talking about their own home schooled kids.
