Stealing a cop's cap was just "youthful exuberance," a lawyer said today of the 20-year-old Occupy Wall Street protester whose face was photographed covered in blood after his arrest last week. Brandon Watts remains charged with felony grand larceny for the post-Zuccotti Park eviction confrontation, in which he also allegedly threw a pen and an AA battery -- each time missing -- at cops at 1 Liberty Plaza. He was in court today for the cap-heist -- learning that prosecutors have yet to put the case before a grand jury -- and for two previous protest arrests charging him with a violation for allegedly wearing a mask and a misdemeanor for allegedly stealing orange netting. "It's youthful exuberance," lawyer Martin Stolar said of the cap, which Watts allegedly tossed into the crowd. "The gentleman has some psychological issues," Stolar added. Its impossible to screen out protesters. People come out with different motives, personal issues, and agenda and may not even care about the movement. Let me know when you see a large group acting together violently (with purpose) and then you might have something.

Wearing a mask isn't unlawful. It would be a fourth amendment violation to stop someone. In my town. A person went into a city hall meeting masked. He was arrested. He sued and got a million bucks if my memory serves me correctly.

The photos were all taken on the same day at the same event on November 2nd 2011. Their purpose is clear from the banner in the first photo and that "non- violent" group did a million dollars of damage to the city of Oakland not to mention the negative impact on business there. Is that in-context enough for you squirrel?

That's ONE instance and that happened late at night when MOST of the other protesters had already left. It is not representative of the movement at ALL.
Does the second photo look like night-time to you einstein? -btw There are hours of daylight footage of these scumbags.
I also read that a group of anarchists had joined the protest and were vandalizing stores. OWS is not about anarchy. Its just not a violent movement period. One day in one town among a small number of individuals does not define a movement
Probably for the same reason they don't brush their teeth...... they use the same bodily orifice to accomplish talking/eating/defecating!!!! this is so confusing to them they don't quite know what kind of oral hygiene they are supposed to be using....... kinda like Chaz when he/she sees a urinal!!!
"CHANGE" you can step in..... OWS called the general strike and OWS gathered under a banner proclaiming "death" to capitalism. OWS spent the day disrupting and defacing businesses and at one point shut down the fifth largest seaport in the United States. Don't tell me OWS isn't about anarchy..its all about anarchy.
