You had 65+ years to build a nest egg. Why didn’t you? You spent, and borrowed, and spent, and borrowed, and now you want the rest of us to pay for your generations’ binge.

Cry me a river. You want all sorts of “senior discounts” and “senior benefits” and “senior protections”. The way I see it, you’ve got more experience, so you shouldn’t be scammed so easily. You’ve had more time to save and learn to budget, but you didn’t. The working generation is already paying too much for your folly.

TH3 is right on the money. Who says it’s up to us younger folks to finance the older folks who didn’t save and invest for their “Golden Years”. The younger crowd sick of it and we intend change things.

And you know, you young people are right. I was saying this to my generation 30 years ago, and they laughed like hyenas at the thought that their stupidity would ever come back to haunt them.

And I told them that the next big social fracture to come would be the young against the old, and they laughed at me. Thirty years ago I said this, I swear to God, and now it is starting to happen.

The older folk financed the younger folk's childhood while also financing their parent's retirement.

Seems like your younger folk are a bunch of whining users and takers.

It doesn't sound that way to me. Are OWS groups whiners and takers?

Young people are right to be frustrated. Their elders were instrumental in setting up an atmosphere where our traditional jobs have been sent overseas.

The previous generations have left them with a whole lot less opportunity then they will ever have.

They are going to have to pay with interest all the binge spending that the democrats and Republicans have accumulated.

When you were say 20 years old did you have all that stuff working against you?

The kids do owe loyalty to their parents if they were raised by loving ones. They don't owe loyalty to the debt of dead politicians. For more on this reasoning and thinking see Thomas Jeffersons letter about the earth belonging to the living.

No, they are want to workers.

Read the article I posted this morning for an alternate view. When you were say 20 years old did you have all that stuff working against you?

When I was 20 there was a national debt, Social Security was taken from my paycheck, and jobs for woman and jobs for men were listed separately in in the Want Ads.

People said stuff like "that's good pay for a woman" and figured women just worked for "pin money".

Things were darned good for white men though, lots of opportunity.

No, they are want to workers.

So if you want to work. You sit on your ass for two months, and whine about people who are working and succeeding?

That doesn't seem like the way to get a job to me.

I've never got a job that way.

You need to stop believing everything right wing radicals tell you.

Are you saying they haven't been there for 2 months? You don't think they could have found a job in that 2 months? Even at McDonalds or WalMart to start?

Ok you may not call it whining. But if tthey are protesting isn't that complaining about something. Which some people would call whining.

I'm happy to let you know I don't see anything inaccurate about that statement.

What makes you think they're all unemployed and have been there for two months straight.

I'm generalizing. The hardcores have been there all that time. That is to who I am referring.

I'm sure there are decent people who have showed up there to protest and then went home.

A retired engineer friend "shows up to protest" because he says the opportunities he had as a young man that made it possible for him to have a good job and comfortable life don't exist anymore.

He is right. I think a lot of people just go there to protest because they know something is wrong. Not necessarily because they buy the horse shit coming from that anti American radicals.
