He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.

1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

3For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

4He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

14Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

15Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

16For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

17For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

18But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

19The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

24Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

25Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Tea party members started out calling themselves teabaggers.

You are 100% WRONG AS USUAL.

Teabagger was derogatory term applied by the left to the Tea Party member's early on.

Teabagger means someone who gains sexual pleasure by lowering their testicles into someone else's mouth. It's generally a homosexual practice.

NO ONE in the Tea Party movement EVER referred to themselves in this way.

This was a perverted left-wing smear.

Why would the left use this term to discredit the Tea Party movement??? Because the left is HOMOPHOBIC.

In the meantime, the FLEA BAGGERS of the PEE PARTY movement have managed to completely discredit the left with their smelly, rotten actions.

The left discrediting themselves is a GOOD thing for the country.

NO ONE in the Tea Party movement EVER referred to themselves in this way.

Not only are you vulgar, you're wrong.

Here's a look at the evolution of the insult:

Feb. 27, 2009 At the first anti-stimulus "New American Tea Party" rally in Washington D.C., a protestor carries a sign reading "Tea Bag the Liberal Dems before they Tea Bag You!!" The Washington Independent's David Weigel calls it "the best sign I saw."

March 2 Americans for Prosperity, an anti-tax group, is one of the first Tea Party organizations to advocate sending tea bags to elected officials to protest the stimulus package. Several other lobby groups follow suit.

April 1 Several Tea Party protest sites encourage readers to "Tea bag the fools in DC." Jay Nordlinger at National Review Online later admits: "Conservatives started [using the term]... but others ran and ran with it."

April 9 Rachel Maddow is the first to mock the Tea Party's use of the phrase on her left-leaning MSNBC show. "Even Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina is getting in on the hot tea-bagging action," she says, stifling laughter. (Watch Rachel Maddow joke about the "tea baggers")

April 13 David Shuster, filling in for liberal commentator Keith Olbermann on MSNBC, also makes fun of the phrase. "While the parties are officially toothless, the tea-baggers are full-throated about their goals," he says. Jeff Poor at the Business and Media Insitute says that the MSNBC comments are "lost in juvenile criticism and ignoring the reason there is discontent from the conservative base"

April 14 Anderson Cooper, on his avowedly non-partisan CNN show, makes a similar crack, but later back-pedals, calling his remark a "stupid, silly, one-line aside" that was not meant to "disparage legitimate protests."

September 10 Badges with the message "Proud to be a Tea Bagger" are still on sale at Tea Party events, according to an article written later in the year.

November 10 A report in The New York Times claims the President called Tea Partiers "the teabag, anti-government people" prompting the blog Redstate to respond: "Sexual innuendo is inappropriate in political discourse. The Left and their media tools need a soap bar sandwich to clean up their act."

December 7 In an article for National Review Online, Jay Nordlinger notes that the word is being used so regularly, it is beginning to lose its pejorative association. "'Tory' and 'Whig' were put-downs when they originated," he notes, and "'Yankee Doodle' was none too nice." However, he suggests conservatives should continue to oppose the "lowdown term."

April 14, 2010 Prominent conservative Andrew Breitbart posts a video on the site Big Government in an attempt to reclaim the term. "I'm Proud to be a Tea Bagger" currently has over 90,000 views.

May 4 In his book, Alter quotes Obama saying that GOP opposition to the stimulus package "helped to create the tea-baggers." Grover Norquist, president of the Americans for Tax Reform group, compares it to the pejorative use of the N-word.

I look at my wife, kids, neighbors, and co-workers...

There IS something substantial worth defending there.

No one questions your perspective. And, I think just about everyone has similar perspectives for their respective families and so forth. Yet, as a nation, when the US military is tactically and strategically deployed around the world do to political inventiveness and the urgency of both the military and industrial AND government machines how is your family "secure" with these foreign intrusions? Don't you think that the methods of overt and covert hostilities that the US government perpetrates around world based on "national security" and/or "national defense" shall create future enmity and hostilities? I do. And I think that is why 9/11 happened. And, it is going to happen again and again and again because foreign intrusion, adventure and surreptitious acts, indeed minor meddling *IS* a cause of hostility in the first place.

I make a big distinction between America and the United States.

America is a concept, articulated in the Declaration of Independence and insisted upon in the Bill of Rights.

Yeah, more precisely called in both documents: the "United States of America" which infers an umbrella federal government which is exactly what I am talking about.

At every step of the way, the power hungry politicians of the United States GOVERNMENT have resisted the very concept of America -- a free people governing themselves.

Actually, that isn't true at all. Initially, the vision for the national government by the founders (whom also became, to a large extent, the first presidents and other formal leaders) were largely concerned with establishing a democracy with the idea of restraining the monster you are discussing which has morphed into this GIANT GOVERNMENT. Those dead old founders, strumming their harps in heaven and looking down at us must wonder how a People could be so dumb-downed a to permit these shenanigans.

You and I actually agree on quite a lot.

I know.

In this case, we are misunderstanding each other's language.

Nope. I am very precise is all. I don't like vacuous or otherwise vague discussions and that is what prompted me to guide your thread into different venue altogether.

In my view, the United States government is NOT America.

What is it then? Some far off and distant magical pixie dust that is similar to a mythological utopia?

I do NOT agree with, uphold or apologize for the actions of Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, George Bush, George Bush Junior, or Barack Obama.

This is good news. However, I note that you intentionally left out Ronald Reagan. Shame on you.

I HATE these SOBs. They have destroyed what America is supposed to be about.

I don't have that level of passion for these guys that you do. All of them are hypocrites, pure and simple. When they each took their oath in office, they held a KING'S X out.

They didn't want a democracy.

I used to think the same. But, it is not true. The goals set forth in establishing the USA were in regards to individual freedoms, liberties and rights based upon an immutable quality that could not be trampled upon.

Your use of "they" were the federalists that wanted an elite form of government wherein only those that had distinguished merit in American society could exercise a vote. Madison and Hamilton among others were in this group of folks.

But the tug o' war that jwpegler brought out was the integration of the anti-federalist sentiments in 1791 that wanted an explicit incorporation of the BOR, this distinguished group consisted of Jefferson and Washington and many others. In fact, they wanted the clauses of slavery included in the Declaration of Independence in 1776 against King George; it was removed by the Second Continental Congress (third edition) which is the final form.

Nope. From the onset of America it is well known about democratic principles even from the founders own original manuscripts which were largely influenced by Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu and others.

I don't care what you think when you hear anything. The term is disgusting when you use it in the context that you do and should have no place in a political forum, and I know that you know that. You're not stupid. But the fact that you would argue that you're not using the word in the context that you are shows that you DO believe myself and others to be stupid.

If you called me a sodomite, then I described the act, would we both be wrong?

How many meanings does the word sodomite have?

teabagger: multiple meanings. 1) one who carries large bags of packaged tea for shipment. 2) JP's definition 3) one who has a job or talent that is low in social status 4) a person who is unaware that they have said or done something foolish, childlike, noobish, lame, or inconvenient.

Yet you are willing to disparage the poor dead souls from Sodom, many of whom were probably innocent of any wrong doing, but were killed anyway.

You can't argue facts with the intellectually lazy. They have a certain comfort level they will defend at all cost.

Seriously? THAT is what you have to say in this conversation?

Ladies, I'm sorry that I tried to have an intelligent conversation with you.

IMHO, your argument that using a word that has several meanings, only one of which is sexual, in a context that is not sexual, but could be, maybe, if you're inclined to think that way, is equivalent to describing a sex act and personalizing it, is lame at best.

I honestly don't care. If you prefer your political forum to be in the gutter then that is, I'm sure, where it will be.

I've tried to show you what you already know, which is that both mininggold's statements as well as Jwpegler's statements are disgusting and have no place in a political forum.

But you obviously can't see it. If you want that kind of exchange, then have at it. But you shouldn't then whine when others return the favor.
