Herman Cain may not have to take a lie detector test because, as one investigator claims, he already did - and passed with flying colours.

The sexual harassment scandal has shaken Cain’s campaign but has showed few signs of derailing it, as he spoke at Wednesday night's Republican debate to loud applause.

In the face of the accusations, Cain said earlier this week that he was willing to take a lie detector test, but only 'if I have to.'

Crowd-pleaser: Herman Cain has said he would take a lie detector test in the face of several sexual harassment allegations, but one private investigator says he may not have to

Lie detector: TJ Ward, a private investigator claims to have a fool-proof method of separating the honest from the liars, with 95 per cent accuracy

Enter TJ Ward, a private investigator who claims to have a fool-proof method of separating the honest from the liars. Accuser: Sharon Bialek is one of three women to be named in alleging inappropriate conduct by 2012 presidential hopeful Herman Cain

In an interview with CBS Atlanta, Mr Ward put his gizmo to the test, using a video clip of Cain’s press conference on Tuesday.

As Cain said 'I don’t even know who this woman is,' the analysis flashed 'LOW RISK,' an indication that it was a truthful statement.

Mr Ward said: 'In my exam taken from his speech, he is being truthful about not having any knowledge about these allegations brought against him.’

He did the same analysis with Sharon Bialek's press conference from a day earlier, where she detailed her accusations against Cain.

Her test results were much different, as her statements found 'HIGH RISK STATEMENT' and 'INACCURACY,' indications that lies were told.

Mr Ward told the news station: 'I don't think she is fabricating her meetings. But, she is fabricating what transpired.'

His software, which he says is 95 per cent accurate, is used by 70 law enforcement agencies across America.

It gets an accurate reading by measuring six separate methods of reading the voice.

The most popular lie detector test is the polygraph, which measures factors such as blood pressure, pulse and breathing.

In recent years, the polygraph has come under fire by scientists, who doubt its credibility.

A total of five women have come forward to accuse the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO of sexual harassment.

Three have been named, including Bialek.

Karen Kraushaar, 55, told ABC News on Wednesday that Cain 'could be described as a monster'. HERMAN CAIN ACCUSERS' PRESS CONFERENCE HITS A SNAG

The lawyer for one of Herman Cain's sexual harassment accusers said today that there won't be a press conference featuring each of the female accusers.

Karen Kraushaar’s attorney, Joel Bennet told The New York Times that they were unable to set up the joint news conference, and will not speak further.

Bennett told The Times: 'She will have no further comment until that time and she and I will not be granting any interviews to the media before any such press conference.'

Kraushaar, the second Cain accuser to be named in the scandal, told the paper earlier this week that she was interested in joining the other women in speaking publicly.

Later, 40-year-old Donna Donella described a situation in 2002 when Cain asked her to set up a dinner with a woman who asked a question during a speech in Egypt.

When Donella refused, she claimed Cain asked her out to dinner instead, and stuck her and two others with the check after ordering two $400 bottles of wine.

But as the scandal plagues the Cain campaign, it may not be hurting him politically or financially.

A recent USA Today Poll after the allegations came to light shows the former Godfather's Pizza CEO in a dead heat with Romney atop the GOP field.

In addition, donations to his campaign have been pouring in since news of the allegations came to light.

At the Republican debate in Michigan Wednesday night, Cain was the clear crowd favourite, drawing cheers for his response to a question about the scandal.

'The American people deserve better than someone being tried in the court of public opinion based on unfounded accusations,' he said.

'I value my character and my integrity more than anything else and for every one person that came forward with a false allegation there are thousands that would say none of that sort of activity came from Herman Cain.'

The crowd booed debate moderator Maria Bartiromo as she raised the question of Cain's character

Lie detector tests are not allowed in most courts of law for a reason.

FWIW!

In 2007 [update], polygraph testimony was admitted by stipulation in 19 states, and was subject to the discretion of the trial judge in federal court.

The use of polygraph in court testimony remains controversial, although it is used extensively in post-conviction supervision, particularly of sex offenders. In Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals (1993), the old Frye standard was lifted and all forensic evidence, including polygraph, had to meet the new Daubert standard in which "underlying reasoning or methodology is scientifically valid and properly can be applied to the facts at issue." While polygraph tests are commonly used in police investigations in the US, no defendant or witness can be forced to undergo the test.

In United States v. Scheffer (1998), the U.S. Supreme Court left it up to individual jurisdictions whether polygraph results could be admitted as evidence in court cases. Nevertheless, it is used extensively by prosecutors, defense attorneys, and law enforcement agencies.

I wonder how many modulators his voice passed through before it was recorded? It's amazing how naive and unquestioning some here are.

That's a kind way of putting it.

What I can't figure out is how that guy's machine couldn't pick out at least one lie from over 14 minutes of Cain talking, if it's so accurate. Or maybe it can also be construed to mean that Herman is also extremely sociopathic.

claims to have a fool-proof method....

I LOVE experts in hard, provable, quantitative disciplines. These people are open to the notion that new facts can invalidate current understanding.

I HATE bullshit scams artists including "social scientists", "climatologists", and anyone else who claims that their outcomes are "fool-proof" or beyond question.

This moron fits right into my HATE category.
