The Water Cooler Title: More On Morons: Are The Neocons Dumb Enough To Believe Their Own B.S.? I was listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio the other day. He was whining about about how the Arab Spring and the liberation of Libya will lead to sharia law in the Mideast. To put it rather crudely, No Shiite, Sherlock! I've been saying that since 2004, when George W. Bush's bungled war handed control of Iraq to two terrorist groups formed in Iran, Dawa and the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution. Meanwhile, Limbaugh and every other "neo" conservative on Earth was praising Bush's words about liberation in his second inaugural speech: Some, I know, have questioned the global appeal of liberty though this time in history, four decades defined by the swiftest advance of freedom ever seen, is an odd time for doubt. Americans, of all people, should never be surprised by the power of our ideals. Eventually, the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul. We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery. Liberty will come to those who love it. Today, America speaks anew to the peoples of the world: Rush and the rest of the neocons repeated this drivel as if it somehow had a connection to conservative philosophy. Now that Obama's singing from the same song book, they've changed their tune and are saying the exact opposite. They got it all wrong as you can see here. Who got it right back then? Me, that's who. And for obvious reasons. I'm a conservative and conservatives do not believe in having the federal government spend tax money doing favors for foreigners. I recall being appalled when people who purported to be conservatives would tell me the Iraq War was justified because we were enforcing a United Nations mandate to free the Iraqis. Where did these poeple get the nutty idea that American conservatives support the U.N.? From Limbaugh, Hannity et al., that's where. They will say what they are paid to say, as shown here. A person who will say one thing for money will say anything for money. And when Bush was in power, Limbaugh was pushing the exact policy of exporting democracy he now accuses Obama of supporting in Libya. I quote: RUSH: Well, you say that, and I know that there are some people even in this audience, particularly if they are on the left -- and this happened when the Soviet Union fell -- who say, "Well, freedom is not for everybody," and, "These people have never had freedom," they're saying out there. "Why, what do you mean, freedom? These are nomads! Why, these people are savages. They don't want freedom." The operative theory here is that we're all created by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, and one of them is this yearning spirit to be free. Now, if they've never known it, if they've been oppressed for generation after generation after generation either by an oppressive religion or governments or whatever, yeah, it's going to take awhile to surface because they're scared to express freedom or the desire for it. Read that quote and you will see that Limbaugh, like the rest of the neocons, was espousing back then the very set of beliefs they accuse Obama of spreading now. Why? Simple. They're all lefties, from Limbaugh to Obama. Anyone who has ever spoken glowingly of the wonderful things the U.S. government has done for foreigners is a liberal at heart. It would be nice if just one of them would admit it. In that regard: If you're wondering why Limbaugh, Hannity and Marxist Levin hate Ron Paul so much, look at the video posted at the top of this post. It's not a question of whether he will win the Republican nomination. It's a question of him exposing them as the liberal internationalists they are.
