Fascinating; as this common epithet for a fuckwit like you discribes you well.
I had not expected you to understand my lifelong love of my personal metaphor for the country I am from and love. Old Ironsides never lost a battle. She inspired the citizens of this country to ave her when she reached old age and faced a normal death for a wooden ship.
Children sent their pennies to keep her with us, and she is still strong, beautiful; a piece of living poetry and heart song chiseled from live oak and iron.
I go to her and always remember why I love this place, the United States.
Nothing I am can say is going to change your delusions of grandeur regarding your own high impression of yourself, or change the mission you have to make this other then a game where you seek to drive those you hate from here.
This comprehension of your motives, what you are, and how this place is likely an outlet to relieve pressure from elements of your live causing you stress or a lack of control makes me beyond you ability to affect me.
I am enjoying watching the show, and want you to keep this up. Keep on showing us what you are and what stuff you are made of Erica.
Your tail chasing doesn't mean squat to me. ;-)

IIRC Denison Texas had no documented recording of Ike's birth there and it wasn't until many years later that Mamie put the info together and had his father sign it.
But it's still fun to see ol sneaky just makin' shit up. For just being an overpaid clerk, that Eisenhower was sure busy making history.

It is also a federal felony to claim to be a Medal of Honor winner if you're not.
See this story to see why that's not true - yet.
The Stolen Valor Act (18 U.S.C. §704) was revised in 2005. This revised version was ruled unconstitutional by the 9th Circuit in 2010. As noted, the Supreme Court has granted cert to hear the case sometime in 2012.
An infraction pertaining to the Medal of Honor provided for imprisonment for not more than one year. A federal felony is subject to imprisonment in excess of one year. The statute would only establish a misdemeanor.
The Act, as presently drafted, applies to pure speech; it imposes a criminal penalty of up to a year of imprisonment, plus a fine, for the mere utterance or writing of what is, or may be perceived as, a false statement of factwithout anything more.
[...]
The rule the government and dissent urge us to apply in order to uphold the Act would, if adopted, significantly enlarge the scope of existing categorical exceptions to First Amendment protection. All previous circumstances in which lies have been found proscribable involve not just knowing falsity, but additional elements that serve to narrow what speech may be punished. Indeed, if the Act is constitutional under the analysis proffered by Judge Bybee, then there would be no constitutional bar to criminalizing lying about ones height, weight, age, or financial status on Match.com or Facebook, or falsely representing to ones mother that one does not smoke, drink alcoholic beverages, is a virgin, or has not exceeded the speed limit while driving on the freeway. The sad fact is, most people lie about some aspects of their lives from time to time. Perhaps, in context, many of these lies are within the governments legitimate reach. But the government cannot decide that some lies may not be told without a reviewing courts undertaking a thoughtful analysis of the constitutional concerns raised by such government interference with speech.
Finding no appropriate way to avoid the First Amendment question Alvarez poses, we hold that the speech proscribed by the Act is not sufficiently confined to fit among the narrow categories of false speech previously held to be beyond the First Amendments protective sweep. We then apply strict scrutiny review to the Act, and hold it unconstitutional because it is not narrowly tailored to achieving a compelling governmental interest.
In December 1943, President Roosevelt announced Eisenhower, still then only officially holding the rank of Colonel would be the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, being promoted immediately to being a four star Major General - one of the most dramatic rise in promotions in American history. The announcement sent shockwaves through the US and even the Allied forces as Eisenhower was promoted over the heads of over fifty seasoned military leaders, including his former friend and mentor Douglas MacArthur - all of whom had far greater skill and merit.
As much as it pains me to say this, this was a brilliant move by King Franklin. Eisenhower was the perfect man for that slot. While he was never much of anything as a soldier,he was a superb politician, and a politician is what that job needed, not a strategic and tactical military mind. What King Franklin (and the world) needed in that position was a man that could sooth the egos of some pretty massive prima donnas like Patton,Montgomery, and DeGaulle, and get them to work together. I suspect herding cats would have been a task easier to accomplish.
Can you imagine the nightmare that Patton or Dougout Doug would have created if they had been appointed to that position?
And that WAS Eisenhower's job in the ETO. King Franklin had the JCS to plan strategy. What he needed in England was a "Yes Man" that would follow orders and play nice with others. He got that in Ike.
Whether true or false, there is no question that Eisenhower quickly shelved the Churchill plan of a 1943 invasion while the Nazi forces were in a state of disarray and allowed the Germans a full six months to re-arm and re- equip their French forces ahead of any invasion.
Anybody that thinks it was Eisenhower made that decision is either ignorant of how the army works,or is delusional. That decision was made in the WH and at the Pentagram in the office of the JCS.
To counter the claims and rumour mills, Eisenhower authorised the leak of stories to damage the character of Patton including blaming Patton for the escape of the 150,000 soldiers of the German army and that Patton was mentally unstable.
Patton WAS mentally unstable. I have talked with soldiers that served under him in WW-2,and they were all in agreement that he was both insane and a asshole. One of these men was childhood friends of my parents that was drafted in WW-2,and ended up winning a DSC and battlefield promotion in North Africa, ending up as a 1st Lt and Armor platoon leader.
BTW,being mentally unstable doesn't mean he was wrong when it came to how to win the war and the danger of the Soviets, though.
No rational, military or political explanation for this order has ever been given. The effect of Eisenhower's deliberate decisions to prolong the war cost an additional 100,000 allied personnel and effectively handed Eastern Europe to the Soviet Union.
Once again, that decision was above his paygrade. It was made in the WH by King Franklin, who was looking out for his Soviet buddies. That's the way it works in America. The President makes the decisions, and the military salutes and says "Yes Sir!"

I stand corrected. Thanks.
At least technically. The few cases I know of where someone has gone to jail for falsely claiming a MoH always involved profiting from that claim. Which would make it a fraud and a felony. Telling your neighbor you earned a MoH is one thing. Telling audiences on speaking tours or using those credentials in order to establish your "legend" in order to promote your business and get contracts is something altogether different.
Finding no appropriate way to avoid the First Amendment question Alvarez poses, we hold that the speech proscribed by the Act is not sufficiently confined to fit among the narrow categories of false speech previously held to be beyond the First Amendments protective sweep.
Alvarez was wrong to compare claims of earning a MoH to simple everyday lying, and you would have to be blind to not see it.

I agree - FDR needed a babysitter. Ike's role was performed perfectly.
Oddly enough, by the time Ike became President, the role of President seemed more like a figure head and puppet of the Elite puppetmeisters.
As you've pointed out, Ike gave his warning about the "military-industrial complex" - he was signaling it wasn't he as President who was pulling the strings.

Upon his arrival in England in 1943, a controversial claim has been made that Eisenhower received a communique from senior members of the SS offering clear and specific terms of unconditional surrender of all German forces, including the assassination of Hitler, if the Americans would help halt the Soviet advance into Central Europe.
Whether true or false, there is no question that Eisenhower quickly shelved the Churchill plan of a 1943 invasion while the Nazi forces were in a state of disarray and allowed the Germans a full six months to re-arm and re- equip their French forces ahead of any invasion.
In 1944, Eisenhower was confirmed as a Five Star General and Chief of the Army. In spite of the massive logistical superiority of the Allied forces, the Eisenhower D-Day plan very nearly failed. Again, during the Battle of the Bulge Eisenhower inexplicably ordered the halt of the encirclement of German forces enabling up to 150,000 to escape and prolonging the war a further twelve months. No rational, military or political explanation for this order has ever been given. The effect of Eisenhower's deliberate decisions to prolong the war cost an additional 100,000 allied personnel and effectively handed Eastern Europe to the Soviet Union.
One man that did know the truth was Gen. George Smith Patton. On December 9th 1945, the day before he was due to fly back to Washington to meet with President Truman with proof that Eisenhower was a traitor who had costs the lives of thousands of American soldiers and millions of civilians, he was seriously injured in a road accident near Mannheim, Germany on 9 Dec 1945 (dying in hospital 21 December 1945).
Fascinating stuff.
Were there any witnesses or any documentation of the supposed German surrender terms from 1943?
There's no question that Ike, FDR, his Commie overlords or whomever sandbagged the advance of the US military and sabotaged our own efforts by the end of WWII.
Cutting a deal with Stalin and the American Commies did NOT work out well; It should have been ridiculed by everyone at the time. So for all Patton's mouthy warnings and loathing of the Soviets, HE was right, and FDR was wrong. He smelled the stench of rot from DC and had had it. Some things never change...
Btw, a program has been running on the History Channel (I believe) where three historical researchers explore the mystery of Patton's odd death in depth, speaking to those who'd known Patton - as well as his grand-daughter. They even traveled to the US Army Medical Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany.
Of course after speaking to Army personnel, they conclude it to be purely "accidental," just like the "official" report. I was shocked. /s

POS: I did appreciate the hearty laugh that you gave me last night when you claimed that decreasing revenues while increasing spending did not cause debt. Capitalist Eric: Please provide the EXACT quote where I said that. POS: It [debt] isn't due to the tax cuts AT ALL. The data I posted makes that VERY clear.
The ACTUAL conversation included the following:
As of January, 2010, our existing national debt- NET of projected tax receipts over the next 50 years- is $200 TRILLION. This includes: Social Security ($17,500,000,000,000.00, $17.5 trillion) Medicare Part A ($36,700,000,000,000.00, $36.7 trillion) Medicare Part B ($37,000,000,000,000.00, $37 trillion) Medicare Part D ($15,600,000,000,000 underfunded, $15.6 trillion) Government and military pensions ($2,000,000,000,000, $2 trillion), etc.
You get the idea. We're bankrupt, because government made SPENDING promises it could not hope to actually fulfill. Instead, they promised goodies in return for votes. ...... According to the Federal Reserves most recent report on wealth, Americas private net worth was $53.4 trillion as of September, 2009. But at the same time, Americas debt and unfunded liabilities totaled at least $120,000,000,000,000.00 ($120 trillion), or 225% of the citizens net worth. Even if the government expropriated every dollar of private wealth in the nation, it would still have a deficit of $66,600,000,000,000.00 ($66.6 trillion), equal to $214,286.00 for every man, woman and child in America and roughly 500% of GDP. If the government does not directly seize the nations private wealth, then it will require $389,610 from each and every citizen to balance the countrys books. State, county and municipal debts and deficits are additional, already elephantine in many states (e.g., California, Illinois, New Jersey and New York) and growing at an alarming rate nationwide. In addition to the federal government, dozens of states are already bankrupt and sinking deeper into the morass every day. ...... ...If the government decides to expropriate (steal) or commandeer (e.g., force into Treasuries) Americas private wealth in order to buy survival time, such a measure will be designed to destroy the common citizens, not the elite. Insiders will be given advance warning about any such plan, and will be able to transfer their money offshore or into financial vehicles immune from harm. Assuming that the elite moves its money to safety, there would then be $120,000,000,000,000.00 ($120 trillion) in American debt and liabilities supported by only $32,000,000,000,000.00 ($32 trillion) in private net worth, for a deficit of $88,000,000,000,000.00 ($88 trillion). In that case, each American would owe $285,714.29 to balance the countrys books. (Remember to multiply this amount by every person in your household, including any infant children.)
...If the common people suspect that something diabolical was in the works, a portion of the $32 trillion in non-elite wealth could be evacuated as well prior to a government expropriation and/or currency devaluation, resulting in less money for the government to steal. What these statistics mean is that it is absolutely impossible for the government to fund its debt and deficits, even if it steals all of the nations private wealth. Therefore, the governments only solutions are either formal bankruptcy (outright debt repudiation and the dismantling of bankrupt government programs) or unprecedented American monetary inflation and debt monetization. If the government chooses to inflate its way out of this fiscal catastrophe, the United States dollar will essentially become worthless.
I provided the data that SHOWS it's a spending problem, not a tax problem, and you twist it into a complete lie.
Translation: You can't provide the exact quote, so YOU'RE LYING YOUR ASS OFF AGAIN.

As you've pointed out, Ike gave his warning about the "military-industrial complex" - he was signaling it wasn't he as President who was pulling the strings.
I would say it was more of a case of a president who was tired of having HIS strings pulled by these very same creatures, and a man familiar enough with military procurement and operations that he truly understood the danger to our Republic it represented.
After all,you don't have to be the first in your class to realize you need to get off the tracks when there is a train bearing down on you.

May have been. I know Ike worked under Big Mac,and I THINK he may have worked under Patton at one point or another. Patton was his superior until Ike rocketed right up 5 paygrades without going to jail or collecting 200 dollars.
Then again,it could have been both of them. It ain't like either one was very lacking when it came to self-image or pettiness.
Both were brilliant men in their own right, and in Patton's case truly fearless to top it off,but they both surely had their own VERY big flaws.

Were there any witnesses or any documentation of the supposed German surrender terms from 1943?
There were several attempts by the German High Command to make a separate peace with the west, and they were all turned down. The most common reason/explanation given is that the Germans wanted a negotiated surrender leaving the Germans in charge of Germany, and the Allies wanted a unconditional surrender. Mostly the Brits and the Soviets.
AFAIK there is zero controversy over this. It is a established historical fact that the German Military kept trying to surrender, and kept getting ignored. Even Rommel was a part of the conspiracy. He managed to avoid being hanged on a meat hook, but a lot of the other senior officers weren't so lucky.
The one German Waffen war hero (Stauffenberg) that tried to blow up Hitler's bunker and kill Hitler. Tom Cruise recently starred in a movie about this and played the role of Stauffenberg. Even though the Allies refused to accept their surrender terms, the senior officers thought killing Hitler would be a good move that might cause public opinion to demand the Allies negotiate a surrender if Hitler were killed.
Here is a interesting link with attempts to kill Hitler listed.
This is the first time I ever heard that Ike was the one that made the decision to do this, though. Probably because the mere suggestion that a theater General or anybody else in the military had the authority to turn down a surrender during a war would result in howls of laughter.
That type of thing is a political decision, not a military one. Soldiers, sailors, and Marines may accept the surrender of enemy soldiers, but it takes a nation to accept the surrender of a nation.
So for all Patton's mouthy warnings and loathing of the Soviets, HE was right, and FDR was wrong. He smelled the stench of rot from DC and had had it.
Yup. Not much doubt about that. Nor is there much doubt that Patton would have beaten Truman like a rented mule if he had came back to the US,put in his retirement papers, and announced he was running for President as a Republican. Patton was the Rock Star General of WW-2. "The American Rommel". He was wildly popular with the citizens for all his victories during the war.
