A previously dormant South American volcano is inflating with astonishing speed, scientists have discovered. Researchers from several U.S. universities say Uturuncu, which rises 6,000 meters in southwest Bolivia, is blowing up like a big balloon as its magma chamber grows around 10 times faster than normal. 'It's one of the fastest uplifting volcanic areas on Earth,' said Oregon State University professor, Shan de Silva. 'What we're trying to do is understand why there is this rapid inflation, and from there we'll try to understand what it's going to lead to,' said de Silva in an interview with MyAmazingPlanet. Uturuncu is classed as a 'stratovolcano' - the most common type. But there is some concern that its rapid growth could indicate that a supervolcano is on its way. A supervolcano erupts with such power that it can shoot out 1,000 times more material than a stratovolcano like Uturuncu or Mount St Helens in Washington. It can also have a devastating global effect. Modern man has never witnessed such an event. The last supervolcanic eruption occurred around 74,000 years ago in Indonesia. However, the researchers looking at Uturuncu are quietly confident there is nothing to worry about. 'It's not a volcano that we think is going to erupt at any moment, but it certainly is interesting, because the area was thought to be essentially dead, professor de Silva said. However volcanoes in the region appeared to hoard magma for around 300,000 years before they erupt - Uturuncu last erupted around 300,000 years ago. 'So that's why it's important to know how long this has been going on,' professor de Silva added. Researchers discovered the growth around five years ago after satellite data revealed the region was expanding by 1 to 2cm every year and had been for 20 years. Now the land stands at some 43 miles across, while the peak sits like a party hat at the centre. Because the scientists only have 20 years of data to go on, they have called in a team of geomorphologists - scientists who study landforms - to dig for clues in the landscape. They looked at ancient lakes, now mostly dry, along the volcano's base for signs of inflating action. 'Lakes are great, because waves from lakes will carve shorelines into bedrock, which make lines,' Jonathan Perkins, who presented work on the mountain to the Geological Society of America, said. The angle of those lake lines didn't indicate any long-term growth to the team, but they are only one indicator of volcano growth, Mr Perkins said. His team is also looking at seismic and GPS data and minute variations in gravity to try to determine just when and why the volcano started to inflate and most crucially, what it might do next.

There's a series of Strato Volcano's running from the Pacific Northest,....thru Central America,...and into South America. These seem to be interconnected at a depth level into the Continental crust which has a transmission system or hub to it. Variations in dust density in space and galactic cloud region effects the Sun

The Earth shunts a Billion Ampere's of Electricity on the Day side from the Pole to the Equator...and similar going back on the Night side from the equator to the Pole.
A circuit.
The Earth is a dipole motor...
The Current is drawn in from the Suns Heliosphere [Its Solar System/return sheet circuit]
Various EM wave form and other.... propagate down from the Earths Plasma Magnetosphere with the Current load...and these work their way to the Earths core,...some wave forms cycle in upper crustal zones and then leak out.
The Earth is also a Leaking Capacitor
it has a Plasma Magneto tail...which we cannot visually see.
Venus's highly charged Plasma Magneto tail has a high charge and its tail extends in length all the way to the Earths orbital distance.
When we are touched by Venus's tail...the Earth absorbs and buffers that current load and the wave forms connected to it.
Everything is not Gravity Gravity as mainstrean science mantra's
rather...its more to do with current loading,wave form distribution and buffering/...leaking capacitor.
The Strato Volcano's tend to brew up in quadrants....and its hypothesised that migrating wave forms in the magma agitate the magma in this hubbed system.
The wave forms excite the gases in the magma....above the natural rate.
the Strato's start blowing up from the pressures....which confound science...as they use past records of eruptions and linear/ gradualism.
when its more to do with the Variable State of our Electric Sun and the wave form density our Earth is trying to buffer.
The Sun becomes electrically stressed...and flares to compensate.
Thats the basic reality with dusty plasma's
the next is the Current load from the Galactic Birkeland Currents which feed our Electric Sun on a circuit.
Think of our Sun as a light bulb on a christmas tree light group,...thats how Galaxy's lite the primary stars.
That current and the wave forms are also variable...so the Sun must buffer that...or blow up.
Its probable the earthquake increase,violent weather and Volcano's etc is due to electrical stress loading and wave propagation.
The Earth expands.....wave forms migrate and alter at the atomic level everything from gas to rock matrix.
It may seem the Earth is acting up,..yet its quite normal....its just buffering.
on a side not....Global warming is a sham,...the Poles are warmed by exiting gas's and heated water from the crustal zones,
their is some wave form activity punching thru the Earths Plasma Magnetosphere containment system...which is natural.
these radiations alter Isotope ratio's.....again,...natural.
