Michael Moore: Obamas First Term In
Office Was A Disappointment
DETROIT (WWJ) - Controversial Michigan filmmaker Michael Moore says President Barack Obama is not the person he campaigned for in 2008.
Speaking with Richard Bacon of the BBC, Moore described the Presidents first term in office as heart-breaking and a disappointment.
He did not come into office like I hoped that he would, to do what Franklin Roosevelt did in his first few months where he came in and said, you know, Im in charge, this is the way were doing things, if you dont like it, throw me out of office, Moore said.
Moore said Obama spent the past three years running the ball in the wrong direction before making somewhat of a turnaround with a jobs bill and other economic plans.
Barack Obama came in and said What can I do to help you? and every time he attempted to help the Republicans, they just shut the door in his face. He inherited a horrible situation but he spent three years, if we could just go back to the sports analogy, you know, running the ball in the wrong direction, Moore said.
Moore adds that in the final year of Obamas presidency, Hes actually come alive
putting forth jobs bills that make sense now.
