Muammar Qaddafi was living in an apartment in Sirte before his capture and was not found in a sewage pipe as alleged by Libyas revolutionary fighters, according to his Internal Security chief, Mansour Daw, who was interviewed by Al Arabiya shortly after he was captured on Thursday.
Daw, who was living in Sirte along with other members of the top leadership of the former Libyan regime, said Qaddafi was not involved in the battles against National Transitional Council fighters. He said his son Motassim was in charge of the fighting.
During the final days of the battle of Sirte, Qaddafi and his aides holed up in area two of the city and stayed in different apartments of Qaddafis relatives who had abandoned the city, Daw said.
The former internal security chief said Qaddafi and everyone around him tried to flee Sirte on foot and in different groups after all their vehicles were destroyed by NTC fighters. He said he was hit by a shell fragment and fainted as he tried to escape and did not know whether it was at this point that Qaddafi tried to hide in a sewage pipe.
After the fall of Tripoli, I went to Sirte where I found Qaddafi and I stayed with him, Daw told Al Arabiya correspondent Ahmad Bagato.
He said that Qaddafi went to Sirte in August because he had a wide support base there. In beginning he had supporters and loyalists there, but the fighting intensified a lot of them left the city.
Dismissing reports that Qaddafi loyalists had used civilians as human shields, Daw said the former leaders fighters had allowed civilians to leave the city and allowed food and medical supplies into the city.
During his time in Sirte, especially during his final days, Qaddafi showed signs of anxiety but he was not afraid, Daw said.
Still kinda weird that the guy and whoever stayed with him from the leadership Stayed in Sirte,....a Coastal city which affords NATO every advantage....leaving them trapped. Some 75% of Libya still free of NATO/AFRICOM control He could stay in the south with numerous tribes......some who even cross into Mali,Niger,Algeria.
Candidly....it would appear he was betrayed by Blair and the Neo Cons...led down the garden path in following years. Probably not a game player as they say.....when they told him what the demand of the Global Elite was....and that he must submit to the IMF/World Bank and flush his Africa vision He pissed them off,....they threatened him, he probably thought China and Russia would stand with him and block things via the UN.
Hitlerys kackling laughter........ perfect sound overlay for this horror movie.
Muammar Gaddafi could have escaped and fled to another country, but he stood and fought to the last breath exactly as hed promised, believes Jordan-based professor, Ibrahim Alloush.
What we have here is a heroic last stand and defense of Libya against a NATO-led invasion, he said, adding that Gaddafis death would be a good example to thousands of his followers who reject NATOs intervention in Libya.
The fact that he was caught wounded, drenched in blood, and was assassinated after that this is a heavy crime against a wounded man.
Things should be put into perspective. This is a political fight against NATO invasion in Libya and the world, especially the Arab world, has no more doubts that what we have in Libya are not revolutionaries but NATO stooges, Alloush said. Today is a very sad day for all the people who oppose foreign hegemony and imperialism,

After the elimination of the unity figure in Libya, phase two of the NATO secret plan for Libya is "the Balkanization of Libya" or the induced civil strife between various tribes to give NATO the excuse to send a permanent occupation force to Libya in the guise of a UN peace keeping force.
Parrot: numerous peoples groups in the Mid East and Africa see this shit clearly now for what it is. Problem for them...is unification across tribal and religious lines -Shia/Sunni etc. They have in the past via Caliphate,or in the case of North Africa [The Mahdi/ Muckdee]....organized and moved against power blocks and their satellite states. Leadership is no guarantee,......after Saladin conquered Jerusalem,.....he went back to Damascus,.....and some Tribal rulers tried to assassinate him several times.
I read comments by US soldiers in Iraq who knew how many Iraqi's where around to attack them,...while they faced the insurgents. The majority did not fight in cohesion....except for a few places. and ya....The US needed the airpower to save them.
In history....from way back to the times of Sargon the Great,....just huge sweeping armies like locust. I have not seen them bring an A Game....and they do not seem to be on par with the Vietnamese for organization.
The Saudi army could not even fight the Yemen rebels who kicked their ass,...Saudi's had to hire Mercs from Pakistan to turn things..and even then..its probable US Airpower helped.
AFRICOM with its designs margins US servicemen might be fighting in Africa.
Founding Fathers did not want this for the Nation.
