Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) hailed the reported death of Muammar Qadhafi as a victory for President Obama. This is a victory for the president, the Obama administration but most importantly for the Libyan people, McCain said on Fox News Thursday morning.
At the time that the senator make these remarks, the White House had not yet confirmed reports of the former Libyan rulers death.
McCain said he believed theres very little doubt that Qadhafi had been killed.
In a statement released earlier in the day, the Arizona senator said Qadhafis death marks an end to the first phase of the Libyan revolution but didnt mention the president or the Obama administration. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) was another Republican senator to offer credit to the Obama administration.
This is a great win for the U.S. military, NATO, the Obama administration, and most importantly, for the people of Libya, Kirk said on Fox News.
