Anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist gave a peculiar analogy to ABC news Monday afternoon in expressing some concern over Herman Cains 9-9-9 tax plan.
When asked by Top Line host Amy Walter if he was expressing fear over the first nine the personal income tax in Cains well discussed plan being adjusted by Congress over time, Norquist actually shared his skepticism over the entire plan.
Im very concerned about three different taxes, every one of them can grow, he said. To put tapeworms in your tummy to try and maintain your weight they may have their own idea about their growth patterns and what they want to do. Creating new taxes is a very dangerous project.

The president of conservative advocacy group Americans for Tax Reform however did not say if Cains plan violated Norquists anti-tax pledge since it hasnt been looked over by the Congressional Budget Committee (CBO).
Its not clearly written down, it hasnt been scored by CBO, he said. Cain has taken the pledge, he understands what thats about. The question is about the structure of the tax rather than the total burden.
Norquist has faced criticism from Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) and most recently Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) over keeping pressure on Republicans to not budge on the no new taxes pledge deal. But the anti-tax figure indicated that it wasnt him who politicians needed to answer to, but the people who elected them.
While I appreciate the attention, the pledge that the majority of the members of the House and 41 senators signed was not to me, he said. The pledge was to their constituents that they wouldnt raise taxes.
