United States News Title: 1 TheDC Morning: Commies and Nazis sure do like Occupy Wall Street 1.) Commies and Nazis sure do like Occupy Wall Street More and more Americans are standing up and being counted among the 99%, as TheDCs David Martosko reports: In a move that may redefine the term strange bedfellows, the American Nazi Party issued an official endorsement of the Occupy Wall Street protest movement on Sunday afternoon. The announcement put the organization, a self-described National Socialist political party, in company with the Socialist Party USA, which explained its own support for the left-wing protesters in a nationwide conference call last Tuesday night, crediting organized labor with the protests strength and sophistication to date
In its statement on Sunday, the Westland, Mich.-based Nazi party wrote that the Occupy Wall Street protests are TAYLOR [sic] MADE for National Socialists, as well as WN [White Nationalists] who are serious about DOING SOMETHING. I urgently URGE all of you, the statements unnamed author added, to TAKE PART and JOIN IN when these protests hit your neck of the woods. Produce some flyers EXPLAINING the JEW BANKER influence DONT wear anything marking you as an evil racist and GET OUT THERE and SPREAD the WORD! While Nazis seem unenthusiastic about visibly linking their flagship organization to the vocal protests that have popped up in dozens of U.S. cities, the same cant be said of the Communist Party USA. Yep, theyre Commies and proud of it. Hey, guess who else really likes Occupy Wall Street? 2.) Cornel West goes to jail In other hilarious protest news, TheDCs Caroline May reports: Princeton Professor Cornel West, one of the most outspoken supporters of the Occupy Wall Street movement, was arrested Sunday in front of the Supreme Court while protesting corporate power. According to a report from The Associated Press, West was one of 19 people arrested for refusing to leave Supreme Court property. The October2011.org movement, the group leading the occupation of Washingtons Freedom Plaza, led an estimated 250 people to protest the Supreme Court Sunday afternoon. The group explained on its web forum that West and others climbed on the steps of the Supreme Court and denounced court decisions that have produced money-based elections that empower corporations
West was carrying a sign reading Poverty is the Greatest Violence of All. October2011.org claims the sign was the reason for Wests arrest. Or maybe, yknow, it was because they told him to move it along and he didnt. Of course, getting arrested was the best thing that couldve happened to him, so congratulations are in order: Congratulations on getting arrested, Professor Cornel West. 3.) Obama administration: Dont question peoples patriotism unless theyre Republicans TheDCs Neil Munro reports: Two hours after President Barack Obama cited Rev. Martin Luther Kings advice that Americans not question each others love of country, his spokesman demanded that GOP legislators put country before party by ending their opposition to the presidents spending plans. Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest made the demand during an afternoon press conference called to tout the presidents three-day bus tour through counties in swing-states Virginia and North Carolina
The bus tour will pressure legislators to pass the bill, this week, to protect the job of a North Carolina teacher, or come down here, look her in the eye, and explain why
[they] dont want to ask millionaires and billionaires to pay a little more, Earnest said. It is time, Earnest demanded, that legislators put country before party. Earnest told The Daily Caller that his demand did not violate the presidents call for comity during the formal unveiling of the new statue of Rev. King. Of course it didnt. Nothing the Obama administration says ever contradicts anything else the Obama administration says, especially when it does. And if you dont like it, what are you gonna do, vote for somebody else? Yeah, right! 4.) Smoking gun (literally) in Fast & Furious case? TheDCs Matthew Boyle reports: House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa said Sunday that he thinks there may have been a third gun at the scene of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terrys murder. Two weapons sent into Mexico under Operation Fast and Furious were found where Terry died, but investigators have been unable to conclusively determine which if either gun killed him. On crime-scene tickets used to mark evidence, FBI investigators labeled the weapons No. 2′ and No. 3′ a fact which hasnt escaped Issas notice. The California Republican told CBS Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer on Sunday that he doesnt believe FBI officials tampered with crime scene evidence, but he does worry about specific inconsistencies which, so far, lack explanations. Were not suggesting that, Issa said, but when you have tickets that are numbered 2 and 3 and theres no ticket 1, when agents who were at Brian Terrys funeral made statements to his mother indicating that there were three weapons, when the two weapons that they have tested dont conclusively match up then you look and say, Well, was there a third weapon at the scene? Were there additional people who escaped with weapons? The Terry family has suffered a great deal. It doesnt seem like the answers are coming. Either the FBI training program doesnt include counting to 3, or theyve got some explaining to do. And if you dont think its significant that there might be a missing murder weapon at the scene of a crime linked to Fast and Furious
would you think the same thing if Bush were still president? 5.) Spock is gay (NTTAWWT) Reuters: Actor Zachary Quinto, known for portraying Spock in the 2009 blockbuster film Star Trek, has publicly come out as a gay man. In an interview with New York Magazine published on Sunday, Quinto recalled a stage play he performed in last year, Angels in America, which was set against the backdrop of the AIDS epidemic and the toll it took on him personally. (A)s a gay man, it made me feel like theres still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed, he told the magazine. No jokes, please. Making a joke about a gay person in this case, say, taking a classic Star Trek trope and putting a gay-themed twist on it is homophobic hate speech and cannot be permitted. Especially if its funny. That said, it must be noted that this is a partial victory for Kirk/Spock slashfic writers everywhere. One down, one to go? 6.) Todays words of wisdom from Alec Baldwins Truther, er, Twitter feed Sitting in a restaurant with @hilariathomas and some VERY drunk people are railing against progressive politics. Madre Mia!!!!!! Like putting Germany and Russia together. unstoppable....;} President Obama could have changed the outcome if he had actually believed in change. He could have told his attorney general to enforce the securities law. He could have replaced the zombies at the SEC and told the new ones to apply all existing regulations. Before last year's election, he could have used his legislative majorities to repeal the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and reinstate the Glass-Steagall act. He could have initiated the process of deconstructing the giant banks back into their separate functions - so that banking once again worked as a utility rather than a launching pad for colossal frauds and swindles. Not only did he fail to do any of these things, he didn't even talk about it, or try.
But now the 1%ers are in mortal danger. their Empire is tottering. Their only hope: To speed up Disaster capitalism, and hope they can hide amongst their security guards and the rubble of Amerika they've created. " Obama has a lot of nerve claiming to support the Occupy Wall Street movement. He should be one of the objects of its ire. I'm not even sure Obama will get to finish out his term of office. 2012 looks like a complete horror show in the making. The way world money matters are lining up this fall, some kind of debacle seems unavoidable, much worse than the 2008 fiasco. The normal political channels are clogged and sclerotic. Our institutions are failing us. The cast of "candidate" characters across the political spectrum convinces nobody that they can manage this republic."
just wait till the 1% mommies and daddies who are support the 99% hippies trash cut off their trust funds. i hope macdonald's has a lot of job openings.
i hope macdonald's has a lot of job openings. The one in town this weekend had lots of the older generation participating. Too Funny. You CPAs recommended to your corps employers that they cut jobs so you can now call the unemployed names.
