United States News Title: Man Up, You Losers! The Wimmenz Demand It! The frowning ghoul pictured to the right is Penny Nash of Concerned Women of America, and she’s concerned that men aren’t growing up. In an article for Fox News, she pimps a new book by walking goiter Bill Bennett, best known for his recent article urging men to “man up”: The Founding Fathers believed, and the evidence still shows, that industriousness, marriage and religion are a very important basis for male empowerment and achievement. We may need to say to a number of our twenty-something men, “Get off the video games five hours a day, get yourself together, get a challenging job and get married.” It’s time for men to man up. Like most loudmouth Christian conservatives, Bill Bennett is a loathsome hypocrite, the unique blend of sociopath and toadie that American Calvinism specializes in. His gambling addiction is well known, but very few talk about him being the government’s first ever Drug Czar (under George H.W. Bush) and how he played a big role in fostering the current War on Drugs-fueled civil war in Mexico and all the savagery and barbarism it’s produced so far. Bennett was so prissy and “moral,” when he was in college in the sixties, he narced out his roommates for smoking pot. Man, I must have missed the part of the Bible that said that drug users should be punished by being ass-raped in federal prison until they contract HIV and/or get brutally hacked to death in a gang initiation ritual. Apparently, God is willing to suspend his usual prohibition on sodomy if it’s an evil “sinner” getting it in the end. That’s not all. In addition to being a two-faced pig and engineering the deaths of ten of thousands of Mexicans, Bennett is an S&M queen (HT: Mike) who likes it hard and rough: The rumor about conservative moralizer William Bennett and his forays into Las Vegas sleaze aren’t going away anytime soon. Of course, readers will recall last year’s revelations about Bennett’s gambling habits during Las Vegas trips. Knappster also hinted last year that there were other, darker tales floating around. Some of those have now surfaced in other media. Basically, reporters from a few news outlets are trying to find out what Bennett’s relationship was with a muscular Las Vegas dominatrix. Someone close to the woman has been providing details about the alleged relationship. The source has even provided links to video snippets of the dominatrix during weight-training sessions. Yikes. So far, the story has yet to break, perhaps because there is no smoking gun to speak of. Yep, I’m going to take my cues on manliness from a fruitloop who spends his Friday nights getting flogged by Lady Whippingsworth and her cat o’ nine tails. Good God, can you just imagine this sweaty fat fuck tied up and naked? I almost feel sorry for his domme. Does she charge him extra for the added K-Y she needs to grease up his voluminous ass-crack? But to Penny Nash, probably a hypocrite in her own right (I don’t care to do the research), the ramblings of a senile poltroon who enjoys having his nuts clamped with kitchen tongs are just so insightful: Working in an office full of women, many of whom are young, single gals, I hear all the time, “Where are all the good men out there?” Even in this post-feminist age of asserting independence from men and having both a career and a family, women still want their prince and these days, he can be really tough to find. These man-shaming, “man up” articles are so predictable and formulaic that you could program a computer to generate them. Seriously, what’s the point? I could just re-post my Kay Hymowitz article from last February, change a few names and no one would notice. Actually, Nash does go slightly off-script in her post by placing some of the blame for men being overgrown boys on women and feminism – her motives being completely self-serving, of course: But are women contributing to the demise of the man? Feminism has been detrimental to the identity of the American male. Men have been rebuked if they pull out a chair or open a door for a woman. If they offer to pay for dinner (which they should), their date may be offended and demand to split the check because she can pay her own way. — Ladies, it’s not such a bad thing to be treated to dinner unless that meal comes with sexual expectations, which is another column. Yes, men should man up, take on the responsibilities of an adult, get a job, have a family and be a contributing member to society. The benefits to being a married man are huge. According to Men’s Health magazine, married men make more money, have more sex, get promoted faster, and are generally healthier than unmarried men. But women also need to let men be men. Men don’t have to linger between college and well, college, forever. They can make choices to take control of their lives and be the men they are called to be if they just put down the game controls and choose a better direction. Sadly, at the moment, American women are apparently still in need of a few good men. This is the old Phyllis Schlafly “feminism is bad for women because it deprives us of our special privileges” argument that’s been driving the pseudo-right for decades. Sorry ma’am, but I ain’t bitin’. Too much social capital has been burnt for me or anyone else to give a shit about your plight. Your cluelessness about the employment, legal and social situation for men and your reliance on cooked statistics to claim that married men somehow have it better off* show that you don’t give a crap about us, so why should we care about you? You need us, we don’t need you, and your impotent admonishments to bait us into saving your worthless rear-ends will nourish us as we ride laughing into the sunset, abandoning this corrupt nation to ruin and decrepitude. *Anyone who claims to have statistics showing that married men are better off than single men is full of shit, and let me tell you why. While it’s true that married men are healthier, wealthier and “happier” (I dispute that a nebulous and fleeting emotion like happiness can even be quantified to begin with, but let’s roll with it) than bachelors, the numbers conveniently omit that the divorce rate is fifty percent – and that divorced men have poorer health, less money and are more miserable (and more likely to commit suicide) than either marrieds or singles. In other words, you have the same chances of reaping the benefits of marriage as getting heads on a coin toss. That sound like good odds to you? Also, these raw statistics ignore the possibility that correlation is not causation. While it’s true that marriage makes men richer and healthier, it could just as easily be the other way around – wealthier, healthier men are more likely than poor and unhealthy ones to get married. Which is more likely to get married and be well-adjusted, a SWPL couple or a white trash couple? To ask the question is to answer it.
