I will focus this strategy on five goals essential to making America safer: ending the war in Iraq responsibly; finishing the fight against Al Qaeda and the Taliban; securing all nuclear weapons and materials from terrorists and rogue states; achieving true energy security; and rebuilding our alliances to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Would you lose sleep over those same techniques being used on US soldiers?

The US is a signatory to the UN Charter/Treaty and therefore that Treaty is the Supreme Law of the Land as is the NATO Charter. And it was France that pushed for the authorization to use force in the UNSC.

International protocols are "law". Targeting combatants is most certainly within those protocols. Again, this is an issue that you want both sides. You wanted Clinton to view terrorist acts for that they were - acts of war - and now that Obama has and is, you want them to treat them as criminal violations. Again, the law is clear, the difference between engaging an enemy in battle versus his treatment in custody are TWO DIFFERENT legal issues. And, again, the SCOTUS has agreed with me thoughout the history of the US.
