For centuries we have used the maps to establish the boundaries that defined policy. But it is time to abandon many of our concepts of self-organization of mankind. The revival of tribal relations in the world leads to a more complex global alliances. Where once defined the boundaries of diplomacy today, history, race, ethnicity, and culture divide humanity into new dynamic group.

General concepts - "Green" movement, the socialists and the ideology of market capitalism - can inspire cosmopolitan elite, but for most people this is not enough motivation. As the once great Arab historian Ibn Khaldun, "only the tribes, held together a group feeling that can survive in the wilderness."

Tribal ties are as old as the world itself, but political upheaval and globalization increase their impact. New contours of the world began to emerge after the Cold War. Those cards, which were designated separate units, or tending to the United States or the Soviet Union, suddenly became irrelevant. In recent years, replacing the notion of a single Third World has come the rise of China and India. A new concept of, say, the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) are refuted by the fact that these states are very different history and culture.

The boundaries of this new world would be unstable, undergoing changes from time to time. Some countries are difficult to assign to one category or another - take for example a very peculiar place, bearing the name France. Therefore, we allocate them in a separate class. There is also a successor of the great city-states of the Renaissance, such as London and Singapore. They are united not geography, and communications, defined similarity and proximity.

1. The new Hanse Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden

In the 13th century came the Nordic alliance of cities known as the Hanseatic League, which historian Fernand Braudel (Fernand Braudel) called the "common civilization created by trade." Today, the Hanseatic countries, a list which has expanded, have common cultural roots of German. They found their niche by selling expensive goods in developed countries, as well as in rapidly developing markets of Russia, China and India. These countries were universally admired for its generous welfare system, and in recent years, most of which have liberalized their economies. These include six of the eight countries that occupy the top places in the wealth index Legatum; there are among the highest in the world savings rate (25 percent or more), as well as an impressive level of employment, education and technological innovation.

2. Border countries Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, United Kingdom

These countries are seeking to find their place in the new world is divisible by the tribal grounds. Many of them, including Romania and Belgium in terms of culture represent a complete hodgepodge. They can be unstable: Ireland, for example, has gone from "Celtic Tiger" to financial bankruptcy. In the past, these states are often subjected to capture by powerful neighbors. In the future, they can fight for their independence from competing zones of influence.

3. Olive republic Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain

These countries have their origins in Greek and Roman antiquity. These lands of olives and wine behind their northern partners, literally on all indicators: the poverty rate there is almost two times higher and employment is 10-20 percent lower. Almost all of the republics of olive - a list that led Greece, Spain and Portugal, huge budget deficits, when compared with the countries of the Hanseatic League. There's also one of the lowest fertility rates: Italy, for example, competes with Japan in a battle for the country with the oldest population in the world.

4. City-state

London It is a center of finance and the media, but London is better to call first-class city, located in a second-rate country.

Paris It accounts for nearly a quarter of the GDP of France, and there are many global companies in the country. It is not as important as London, but its market in this most beautiful of all the cities will always be.

Singapore In a world which increasingly face shapes Asia, this city, situated between the Pacific and Indian Ocean, probably the best on the planet. There's one of the world's largest ports, where high levels of income and education, and Singapore is an example of the huge success of cities.

Tel Aviv If most of the nationalist and deeply religious Israel, this border area, which is carefully guarded, then Tel Aviv is a secular city with a booming economy. It provides most of the high-tech Israeli exports, per capita income there is 50 percent higher than the national average, and in this city or its suburbs live in four of nine Israeli billionaires.

5. North American Union Canada, United States

These countries are closely linked in terms of economics, demography and culture, each of which is the largest trading partner of its neighbor. Many scientists believe that this vast region in the grip of an inexorable decline. But they are wrong, at least not yet. In North America there are many cities in the world level, a list headed by New York. There's the world's largest economy, with its high technology. There is the largest volume of agricultural production, as well as four times more water per capita than in Europe or Asia.

6. Countries of liberalism Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru

These countries - the standard-bearers of democracy and capitalism in Latin America. There is still low family incomes and high rates of poverty, but they are trying to break out into the ranks of fast-growing economic powers like China. However, for some of these countries, it seems improbable idea of 43;43;breaking with the U.S., which has traditionally been the dominant economic force in the region. This is particularly true in Mexico, the United States has close geographic and ethnic ties. But the economic future of these countries is uncertain. Will they rely on state or will pursue a policy of economic liberalism?

7. Bolivarian Republic Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Venezuela

A large part of Latin America headed by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez goes back to the dictatorship, and follows the model of Peronism with its traditional dislike of America and capitalism. Under the influence of Chavez's largely poor country, where the proportion of people living in poverty by more than 60 percent higher than in Bolivia. With anti-American mindset, large reserves of mineral and energy resources, these countries are tempting targets for such escalating powers such as China and Russia.

8. Detached country

Brazil As the largest economic power in South America, Brazil is in the range between the Bolivarian and liberal countries in the region. Thanks to its resources, including offshore oil, as well as achievements in the industry, Brazil is the superpower of the second echelon (after North America, India and Greater Middle Kingdom). But it suffers from the huge social problems, particularly on crime and poverty. Brazil recently freed from the embrace of North America and found new allies, chief among which are China and Iran.

France This is still an advanced and highly cultured country trying to resist the onslaught of Anglo-American culture and reduce the significance of the EU. It is no longer a great power, but has a much higher opinion of himself than olive republic, though not as strong as the Hanseatic League.

Most of India India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, but family income there is still about a third lower than in China. At least a quarter of its population of 1.3 billion people live in poverty, and its ever growing mega-cities like Mumbai and Kolkata, home to some of the world's largest slums. But India is stubbornly moving forward in everything - from automotive manufacturing to software.

Japan Japan with its financial resources and engineering acumen remains a world power. But from the second place worldwide in terms of its economy outpaced China. Partly because of resistance from Japanese immigration in 2050 of more than 35 percent of the population will be aged over 60 years. At the same time, its position is gradually undermining the technological superiority of South Korea, China, India and the U.S..

South Korea South Korea has become a real scientific and technological power. Forty years ago, its per capita income was comparable with the income of Ghana, and today they are 15 times more. Income of the average Korean family is about the same as in Japan. It is great to recover from the global recession, but South Korea should take care to ensure that its in their turbines are not sucked rapidly developing China.

Switzerland In fact, this city-state that is associated with the world is not shipping routes, and wire transfers and airlines. The country is flourishing, is rich in water and has excellent conditions for business.

9. Russian Empire Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine

Russia has enormous natural resources, significant scientific and technical potential, as well as a strong army. While China is growing, Russia is seeking a foothold in Ukraine, Georgia and Central Asia. Like the old imperial version, the new Russian empire relies on the strong bonds of Russian Slavic identity, since Russian is about four-fifths of its population of 140 million. It is middling in terms of family income, which is about half Italian, and in addition, Russia faces the challenge of rapid population aging.

10. Wild East Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan

This part of our planet will remain a bone of contention between rival regions, which include China, India, Turkey, Russia and North America.

11. Iranistan Bahrain, Gaza Strip, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria

With oil reserves, a fairly high level of education and the economy is on its volume by about half Turkish, Iran would seem to be a superpower on the rise. But the full measure of his influence is constrained extremist ideology, because of what Iran interferes not only with Western countries, but also with the Big Arabia. Because of the mismanagement of the economy, this country became a net importer of consumer goods, high tech equipment, food and even oil.

12. Most Arabia Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, the Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen

Oil resources make this region an important political and financial players. But there exists a deep chasm between the Persian Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates on the one hand, and poorer countries, on the other. If the Abu Dhabi per capita income is about $ 40,000, in Yemen it is only five percent of that figure. Strong cultural ties - religious or racial - strengthen the unity of this region, but its relations with the rest of the world rather problematic.

13. New Ottomans Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan

Turkey represents a return to tribal top, because today it is focusing more on its eastern edge, rather than Europe. Although relations with the EU continues to underpin its economy, the country now shifts the emphasis in foreign policy at their former Ottoman possessions in the Middle East and ethnic counterparts from Central Asia. Trade with Russia and China are also on the rise.

14. South African empire Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe

The economy of South Africa's largest and most diversified in Africa. There's a good infrastructure, rich in mineral resources, fertile land, as well as a strong industrial base. Income of 10,000 dollars per capita makes it quite wealthy by African standards. The country has strong cultural ties with neighbors such as Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia, who are mostly Christian countries.

15. Sub-Saharan Africa Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo - Kinshasa, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia

Most of these countries were in the past by the British or French colonies. There there is the division between Muslims and Christians, between the English-speaking and Francophone population and the lack of cultural cohesion. The presence of minerals in conjunction with the terrible poverty level, which lives below the 70-80 percent of the population, virtually guarantees that the rich players with pockets full of money, such as China, India and North America, will try to exploit the region.

16. Time Maghreb Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Tunisia

In this region, covering the African Mediterranean coast, there is a glimmer of progress in relatively wealthy countries such as Libya and Tunisia. But there are also high levels of poverty.

17. Middle Kingdom China, Hong Kong, Taiwan

Perhaps China is not in ten years will surpass the U.S. in terms of GDP, as recently predicted the IMF, but it's certainly a new world superpower. Its national solidarity and a sense of historical superiority simply exceptional. Han Chinese make up more than 90 percent of the population. It is the largest in the world of national and cultural group. Because of such national and cultural cohesion, are beginning to realize how many foreign companies to penetrate this huge market is even more difficult. The growth of China's resource needs can be judged on its economic expansion in Africa, in the Bolivarian Republic and the Wild East. However, China has many problems: it is highly authoritarian regime, the deepening gap between rich and poor, and environmental degradation. Its population is aging rapidly, which can create huge problems in the next 30 years.

18. Rubber Belt Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam

Those States have rich reserves of minerals, fresh water, natural rubber, as well as a wide variety of foods. But they suffer from political instability, which manifests itself there in varying degrees. All these countries are trying to create an industrial base and diversify its economy. In addition to Malaysia, where household incomes are still quite low, but they may be the next region of rapid growth.

19. Countries that are lucky Australia, New Zealand

Household income there is about the same as in North America, although their economy is less diversified. Because of immigration and the general Anglo-Saxon heritage, they are culturally linked to North America and Britain. But their geographical position and raw-material economy suggests that China and India could be a future for them, the dominant partner in trade.
