DENVER -- Public opinion polls show that people like President Barack Obama personally, even if they don't agree with his policies and have been hurt by them. It's this likability factor that's keeping him afloat politically as the 2012 election nears. And it gives his team hope that Obama can win a second term despite high unemployment and sour attitudes about his policies and the country's future. Across the country, some people who have lost their jobs or their homes since Obama took office nonetheless say they want him to succeed. What's more, they're working to help re-elect him because of the affinity they feel for him. It's a bright spot in an otherwise dreary political environment for the president.
