Ex 50's heartthrob Pat Boone said Barack Obama was born in Kenya and not the U.S., it emerged on Saturday.

Announcing his 'birther' opinions, the ageing former crooner was filmed saying the President's long-form birth certificate, which was sensationally released in June, was a 'photo-shopped fraud'.

Mr Boone, 77, also said he believed Obama was born in Kenya, and that he was 'spending millions of dollars' of tax payer's money to cover up 'the truth'.

'He is spending millions of dollars so we do not have his records..And experts have already looked at and been able to verify that this long form document is a fraud.

According to a recent CNN poll, one in six Americans still believe the President was definitely or probably not born in the U.S.

However this figure of 17 per cent after the birth certificate's release in May was a fall from the 25 per cent who gave the same response in March.

The embarrassing comments come after a book published on the topic reached number six on a New York Times best seller list.

56;Where's the Birth Certificate?57; by Jerome Corsi, which argues he is not a natural-born U.S. citizen, stormed the charts after it was released in June.

The book's blurb says it shows 56;conclusively that no legal authority has ever verified Obama's legal eligibility to be President57;.

It has a 56;compelling body of evidence57;

to show that Mr Obama 56;is not a natural-born citizen as is required of all presidents (by) the Constitution57;.

Dr Corsi says his work shows Mr Obama was a dual citizen of the UK and U.S. - and shows he was registered in school as a Muslim and Indonesian citizen.

Pat Boone is right. Everything Obama did should be declared null and void. It would save us trillions.

This has been debunked so many times...but like the 9/11 conspiracy kooks, it will never go away.

Pat Boone was who the establishment selected to tame the wild Rock and Roll spirit that was sweeping the nation. He would take songs that were black rooted, wild and free and sung that way (songs by Little Richard) and would neuter them for the "middle America" audience to prevent "contamination".

With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction.

As he prepares to singularly veto Palestine's statehood bid, he must be thinking to himself: 'This isn't right'.

"Can I get the Hell outta here and still make tee-time" would be a safer bet . . . .
