DENVER (CBS4) -- Police are asking for the public's help tracking down a large group of violent teenagers. They say 10 to 15 young people -- described as black or Hispanic and both male and female -- attacked four white men on the 16th Street Mall at about 10:45 p.m. on Sunday. Denver police say the men were standing on the mall near Arapahoe when they were approached by the group. After a conversation, the group turned violent and they attacked the men. CRIME BULLETIN: View The Document From Denver Police Two of the four victims left the scene before they could be questioned. The Denver Post reported that two of the victims suffered minor injuries. "It's really unclear as to what their motivation was -- why such a large group of young people came together and assaulted these individuals," said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson. Authorities say the attacks could have been gang related or racially motivated. "We're not going to dismiss anything in this case because we don't know," Jackson told CBS4. In 2009 a similar series of attacks took place near downtown, on the 16th Street Mall and in surrounding areas. The victims were usually white or Hispanic and the suspects were black. Surveillance video captured one of the attacks on camera. Many of those arrested in connection with the assaults were known to have ties with street gangs. Police said some or all of those attacks may have a kind of gang initation. Police will confirm that in this weekend's case the victims were not robbed, which narrows down the list of motives somewhat. Police are asking anyone who has more information about the attacks, including the two victims who walked off, to come forward. They also want to interview anyone who witnessed the attack. There is a $2,000 Crimestoppers reward for information that helps solve the case.

With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction.

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — Police say a Hispanic man has been attacked on Long Island by a gang of white teenagers and stabbed to death. Suffolk County police officers responding to an emergency call Saturday night say they found Ecuadorean Marcello Lucero, 37, stabbed in the chest in Patchogue. They say a friend who was with him was unhurt. Police say they quickly rounded up seven white boys ages 16 and 17 from Medford and East Patchogue. The boys are charged with gang assault. One of them is charged with manslaughter as a hate crime. They're being held until arraignment Monday. County Executive Steve Levy says the "heinous crime" that led to the man's death because of his race won't be tolerated.

You're right,but the fact that the law is based on politically correct BullBarack does. A murder victim isn't any deader if he or she was killed by somebody that looks different than them than they are if killed by somebody that looks like them. Same thing with all the violent crimes.

Motive is always an element of a crime. But, if what you state here was applied equally, the murder of a cop or POTUS would be treated no differently than a husband killing his wife - or vice versa... Correct?

I disagree. The murder of a president is a crime against the whole country. The murder of a cop is an attack on our civilization. The murder of an individual is just a tragedy. And to be clear on this,I am talking about murders,not accidental or justified homicides.
