Sarah Palin Hooked up with Glen Rice, According to New Book By IBTimes Staff Reporter | September 14, 2011 9:42 AM EDT
A new Sarah Palin book claims that the former Alaska governor had sex with former NBA player Glen Rice in 1987, according to the National Enquirer.
The book written by Joe McGinniss, an investigative reporter that moved next to the former Vice President candidate for the book, says that Palin had relations with Rice when he was a junior basketball player for the University of Michigan in 1987.
Rice, who led Michigan to a national championship in 1989, was in Alaska for a college basketball tournament and hooked up with Palin when she was a sports reporter for KTUU in Anchorage.
The National Enquirer claims that at the time Palin had a "fetish" for black men at the time and "hauled" Rice down.
The book, entitled "Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin," is yet to hit the market, but the Enquirer claims that Rice confirmed the relationship to McGinniss.
Rice would later go on to play in the NBA for a host of teams, including the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers, while Palin would transition into a political career after her stint as a sports reporter.
National Enquirer, citing publishing sources, also claims that this was only nine months before Palin would marry her husband Todd.
McGinniss has also written critically acclaimed books about Richard Nixon and Teddy Kennedy. McGinniss initially went to Alaska to do a story on Palin for Portfolio magazine, but ended up netting a book deal about the controversial conservative.
Palin strongly opposed McGinniss moving next door to her and posted on her Facebook at the time, "Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?"
The book is expected to be available on Sept. 20.
