On Sept. 20, the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy banning gays from serving openly will be stripped from the military’s rulebook. For gay Marines, official repeal will be a historic day, comparable to the moment 63 years ago when President Truman ordered the services to end racial segregation.
For straight Marines, this will bring changes, too. “That’s gay” — a pervasive phrase used throughout the Corps to express dislike for almost anything — will no longer be tolerated. Equal treatment will be a must. And yes, some gay Marines will bring dates to the Marine Corps Birthday Ball in November.
With the end of “don’t ask” just days away, this week’s cover story includes the stories of several gay Marines who wanted to share their views on repeal and the future of the Marine Corps. Gay Marines interviewed for the story include:
– A corporal in the infantry, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
– A major at Quantico, Va.
– An infantry officer and company commander at Pendleton.
– A former enlisted Marine now enrolled at the Naval Academy
– And a field grade officer in California

Don't worry it won't last long.... You'll start hearing about things happening that brought about "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in the first place.....
In your dreams. Being Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Trans-sexual, Metrosexual, Bi- sexual or whatever is just a personal trait that has no bearing in and of itself with how a person comports themselves in life. Your view is as irrational as railing against bottle blondes or blue eyed people as being dangerous to civilization as we know it. You and K Y up the ass Stone stick your bigotry where the sun is glad it never shines. Stone has the excuse of being as insane as a cross dressed zebra, what's your's? Never mind, don't answer; I don't need to know.
Their actions when they came out of the closet the first time is what brought about DADT.... I have no doubt they will do it to themselves again, a lot of them have no clue how to act to stay out of sight out of mind... (I.E. fit in)... History/reality has a way of repeating itself...... Some learn from it and some don't, we'll see if they learned their lesson or not.... And oh by the way it wasn't what the "straights" were doing to the gays that brought about DADT, a major part of it was them fighting amongst themselves over their "Favorite Bootys" that did them in..... They also had a "Pirates Underground" set up through the Assignments Office by bribing them...... So if telling you this makes me a bigot or insane in your eyes, then so be it... It won't be the first time that telling someone the truth has brought ridicule/scorn down on them from the "Deniers/Liars"......

A metrosexual is a man who spends a lot of time on his appearance, grooming, etc. It is not a designation of sexual preference.
That is true, but explaining the facts to someone addicted to the hateful need for a scapegoat -- someone to denigrate and steal the social status and sense of well being from to try to build themselves up -- is all too often an excercise in futility. What is ironic is that Stone wisely sees this true when looking at the anti- semitism in various venues on the Internet as the practice of irrationally creating a scapegoat and backing it with lies and fellowship in hate. But then he goes right ahead and does the same himself with groups he likes to scapegoat and bully to try to create stature for himself. He needs to do more then chide others for scapegoating and villifying entire classes of people; he needs to stop doing it himself.
California Marriage Protection Act... "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." Prop 8 Your gay buddies found a grandma to scapegoat and beat up in Palm Springs, after California voters rejected homo marriage by passing prop 8. She likes guys and is a Christian, so the faggots attacked. I voted for it of course.
So, what do you want, a medal or a chest to pin it on?
