Hastert told Limbaugh that Republican leaders knew only about one set of e-mails Foley sent to a former page from Louisiana. The e-mails were not sexually explicit, but Foley suggested that the page send him pictures of himself. Hastert said Republican leaders were informed of the e-mails and resolved the situation.
"We went to Foley, told him to stand down, don't do this," Hastert said. "We asked him if there was any sexually explicit language in this message, and there was not."
"We went to Foley, confronted him," Hastert said, adding that Foley said "he wouldn't do it anymore."
