Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann told voters in Florida Sunday that Hurricane Irene and the recent East Coast earthquake were just God’s way of telling politicians to reign in government spending. “I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians,” Bachmann said during the speech in Sarasota. “We’ve had an earthquake; we’ve had a hurricane. He said, ‘Are you going to start listening to me here?’ Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we’ve got to rein in the spending.” At least 21 people died over the weekend due to the storm. I said it again - Republican majority states should not get any dollars for Irene relief. Fuck em.
With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction.
Bachmann believes that God is evil and needs to kill people to get His attention. Wholly forgetting the promise made to Noah.

If He wants the attention of politicians, why does He only kill off and financially ruin the little people? I would think taking out a dozen senators or so would work much better.
She doesn't sound much like a Christian to me. Love and forgiveness evidently doesn't generate the needed cash flow.
She sounds just like Christians Pat Robertson and James Hagee. Of course, they're both totally insane, but then so is she.

Everyone sitting behind her is an old white person on SS/medicare. Lack of diversity there with a mixing of hypocrisy......... It is very clear the GOP lost the young generation. It has become an old people's party the way the Communist party in Russia is mostly supported by old Russian pensioners remembering the good old days.
