The deity in charge of sports is as mad as hell at San Francisco Bay Area sports teams and fans, and he or she is not going to take it any more!
Indeed, the heavens opened and visited unbearable sports hell upon Bay Area fans this weekend including:
* The Los Angeles Dodgers, the most despised opposition sports franchise in the Bay Area, completed a three-game thrashing of the San Francisco Giants at ATT Park in San Francisco.
* In the process of sweeping the Giants on their home field, those same Dodgers clinched a spot in the baseball playoffs. Upon doing do, the Dodgers staged a wild celebration in front of the San Francisco ballplayers and 42,000 local fans, most of whom were non-celebrants on this beautiful autumn afternoon.
* San Franciscos once highly respected 49ers were tossed about like disposable toys by the Kansas City Chiefs. In what was one of the most humiliating defeats in team history, the Niners were shut out 41-0 in Kansas City.
* Not to be outdone by the pathetic showing of the 49ers, the Oakland Raiders blew a 21-3 lead in the third quarter of their contest with the Cleveland Browns. The Raiders, who allowed 21 unanswered points to score, ended up losing 24-21, and are now 0-3 for the season. That record would be worse were it not for the team bye last week.
Only the Oakland Athletics escaped unscathed this weekend, but even they may end up suffering next week in the American League baseball playoffs.
Turn away from your sinful, liberal ways Bay Area. Or risk even more suffering at the ball yards and parks!
