Hurricane Irene, a major Category 3 storm, is moving over the Bahamas’ Crooked and Acklins islands with winds of 115 miles (185 kilometers) an hour, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in an advisory shortly before 11 a.m. East Coast time. The latest tracking map shows the core of the storm passing the Outer Banks of North Carolina and crossing over Rhode Island and Massachusetts into central Maine.

And you'll note that ZERO Evac orders will go out in the BosWash corridor. Where would they Evac to? ;} 13 ft of water all the way up to Canal, if the eye goes over the Statue of Liberty....
new 11 AM guidance is out, shifting the storm west a bit. It will nail Va Beach up to Cape May, then go right into NYC. Not a good time to hold stock in property insurers.

Thanks for the ping and the update. I have a Dad and 3 siblings in NJ one of them is 1/4 mile from the shore. Goldi will blame Obama is my prediction regardless of how Irene plays out.
