If Rep. Michele Bachmann is a good Christian why is she running for elective office which is against the Christian teaching that women should not have authority over men? "no woman [is] to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent" (1 Timothy 2:12).

It does not matter. What type of Christian would allow a woman to have authority over a man in contradiction to the New Testament as in being in charge of the armed forces?
With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction.

Barack Obama began to attend church in adulthood in Chicago, and from 1989 to 2008 was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, which introduced itself online as "a congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA... and remain 'true to our native land,' the mother continent." When Barry was 6 years old, President Obama's mother then remarried an Indonesian Muslim whose beliefs had an inclusive flair. In his autobiography, President Obama described his stepfather's beliefs as "a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths." 0bama is just sooooo hip! He's into Muslim-Animism thing AND "COMMITMENT TO AFRICA"! What could possibly go wrong to America lead by a man who "leads" with such a (ahem) solid belief system and background??

The context is subtle but different to someone like you. You: "Women should not have authority over men" (1 Timothy 2:12): "no woman [is] to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent" American King James Version: "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." The context is "teaching" the Word and displacing the man as a Spiritual leader. And NOT in the plural. Concepts that are foreign to you.

They seem to look for any excuse, and if one doesn't present itself they make up one. It definitely appears to be in their comfort zone.
The context is "teaching" the Word and displacing the man as a Spiritual leader. And NOT in the plural. Concepts that are foreign to you. That disqualifies women form any authority as president, she would not be able to lead a prayer as president. Bachmann is according to you and scripture wrong when she opines on religion - she should shut up because her having religious opinions is offensive to God.

Bachmann falsely claimed that she and her husband "have never gotten a penny" from a family farm that received federal subsidies. But she reported income from the farm in 2006, 2008 and 2009 — the most recent year available — on her congressional financial disclosure statements.
She claimed she had been "faithful" to her pledge not to request federal earmarks. But she requested $40 million in transportation earmarks in the 2009 fiscal year budget after taking the pledge, later claiming such projects should not be subjected to her promise. She withdrew her requests after the House Republicans took a party position in 2010 not to seek earmarks.
Bachmann wrongly blamed President Obama for increasing the number of federal transportation workers who earn more than $170,000 from one to 1,690 during the recession. At least two-thirds of those employees were receiving more than $170,000 before Obama took office.
She criticized the president for a 73 percent increase in government "limousines." But one department accounted for the increase, and it had a long-term plan, pre-dating Obama, to add armored vehicles. The term "limousine" includes armored vehicles and sedans, not just actual limos.
She claimed government money received by her husband's counseling clinics did not benefit the business, because the funds paid for employee training. It's true the clinics received $24,041 for training, but the business received thousands more in government funds, including money for treating crime victims.
The three-term congresswoman repeated — on two Sunday shows — the false claim that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the federal health care law will "cost the economy 800,000 jobs." The CBO never said that. It said there will be a "small" impact on jobs.
