If Rep. Michele Bachmann is a good Christian why is she running for elective office which is against the Christian teaching that women should not have authority over men?

"no woman [is] to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent" (1 Timothy 2:12).

Have you forgotten Bush with a Saudi Prince, holding hands and kissing in the WH rose garden?

It was lovely, wasn't it? It was almost as sweet and submissive as 0bama bending over for the Saudi King and simulating a BJ in front of several embarrassed World leaders.

But hey - Dubya is also as queer as a canary.

"It's not surprising, then, they [White Pennsylvanians] get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." ~ Comrade-in-Chief Barry Hussein 0bama

Liberator, do you actually read your 'real' Bible?

Libby is one of those 'Christians' who only reads the Old Testament.

Then he should be even more against Bachmann and Palin holing office.

With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction.

The context is subtle but different to someone like you.

You: "Women should not have authority over men"

(1 Timothy 2:12): "no woman [is] to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent"

American King James Version:

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

The context is "teaching" the Word and displacing the man as a Spiritual leader. And NOT in the plural. Concepts that are foreign to you.

That disqualifies women form any authority as president, she would not be able to lead a prayer as president. Bachmann is according to you and scripture wrong when she opines on religion - she should shut up because her having religious opinions is offensive to God.

That presents another problem. Women, per Bachmann are submissive to their husbands. How can she run for President when the power of her husband over her is stronger than her oath of office?

THIS wasn't a spectacle??:

See if you can figure out how this story applies to you.

Two Buddhist Monks were on a journey, one was a senior monk, the other a junior monk. During their journey they approached a raging river and on the river bank stood a young lady. She was clearly concerned about how she would get to the other side of the river without drowning.

The junior monk walked straight past her without giving it a thought and he crossed the river. The senior monk picked up the woman and carried her across the river. He placed her down, they parted ways with woman and on they went with the journey.

As the journey went on, the senior monk could see some concern on the junior monk's mind, he asked what was wrong. The junior monk replied, "how could you carry her like that? You know we can't touch women, it's against our way of life". The senior monk answered, "I left the woman at the rivers edge a long way back, why are you still carrying her?"

Hey - nice strawman. But funny - you can't stretch your "credibility" because you have none to begin with.

FWIW, you have no idea what Dawg believes or how "good" a Christian he is. Like me, I'm sure that he would say he's a sinner, is grateful for the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and prays for Lord's wisdom and comfort.

It's not much of a stretch to imagine that if Jesus came back today and preached the message of the New Testament, right-wing Christians would accuse him of being "anti-Christian, pro-socialist".

IF HE came back today, He would be recognized...IMMEDIATELY.

Btw - exhorting one to "help thy neighbor" does NOT make Jesus Christ a "socialist."
