Yep, and the Obama campaign celebrated. Now if only she can get rid of Romney and Perry and win the nomination.

I think Perry could win it. I don't know if that would be good though.

She's a nut Stone. After she voted to raise the debt ceiling by $6 trillion over 8 years she now says she's opposed to any increase in the debt ceiling, a stance that directly led to the recent debt downgrade.

If your honest with yourself. You know the budget is way to big. They needed more spending cuts. If they had taken Rand Pauls proposal there would have been no downgrade.

Obama voted against raising the debt ceiling.

yes. there would have because the negative economic impact would have called into question our ability to meet our obligations.

Read the S&P report and recent statements: they continue to cite two primary reasons for the downgrade. First is the talk by Tea Party Republicans about how a default wouldn't be so bad. Second is the a concern that short-term spending cuts without stimulus would depress the economy.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact that instantly cutting 40% of federal spending will have large negative economic impacts.

And it all depends on what is cut..... If it's bullshit like what was on that list I posted nobody would even know or care.... (we weren't having any problems paying the bills with Bush's budget but we are with Obozos and we are spending 1.6 trillion more!!!!!! ROTFLMAO)......

But no, we can't cut that bullshit, gotta cut loans for college students, cut out money for retirees, Social security, Medicare..... etc ......etc...etc..... Things that piss people off and hurt them....... the poor are just pawns in this game, I wonder how they feel about constantly being used to push a bullshit Democrat political agenda.......

that list you posted wasn't 40% of federal spending in one year. You could end ALL discretionary spending immediately and it wouldn't be enough to balance the budget. You need to immediately cut over $1.2 trillion spending, and once the impact of such spending destroying the economy, you would likely have to cut another $800 billion to $1 trillion. After interest on the debt, that leaves about $600 billion for everything else.

What is the tea party planning on doing? Opening the borders, dismissing the military and emptying federal prisons? Ending Medicaid and social security immediately?

The basic fundamental flaw in tea party economics (if I can even call it that) is that they don't look at where actual federal spending is going.

No, he's a politician. But there's no way he would have voted against raising it if there was a chance of it not being raised.

BTW, Reagan supported raising it 17 times, by your logic that makes him a flaming liberal.

But I have no doubt you could find enough of that kind of bullshit to get your 40%....... Honestly I think you could get to 60%......

We were doing fine paying the bills with Bush's budget, why $1.6 trillion more and it isn't enough????? Because I would imagine that all of that extra spending is the same kind of silly stuff that is on the list I posted.... totally useless spending..... If you really knew what they spent money on you would shit yourself...... Do you need an underground crosswalk for turtles on your street???? Somebody does because the government has paid for some!!!!!!!

Do you have any idea how many trillions of dollars businesses (in and outside of the US) are sitting on waiting for Obozo to be kicked to the curb????? (somewhere in the 6-8 trillion dollar range)!!!!!! compare that to what the (cough... cough.....) "government" (if you can call it that, clusterfuck is more appropriate) can spend...... government can't even come close.... get rid of socialist policies and regulations and the economy will come back.... if you don't it won't.... plain, pure and simple...... it's not brain surgery...... but then again some people need new brains.....

Reagan inhereted a national debt of $900 billion and handed George HW Bush a national debt of $2.7 trillion (after 17 increases in the debt ceiling. It took 31 years for the debt to go from $300 billion to $900 billion. Reagan tripled it in just 8.

I guess you can't quite grasp the fact that any budget/bill that originates in the House still has to be approved by Congress and the Kenyan Village Idiot...... And they won't approve any meaningful spending cuts, unless you consider a few million here or there to be "Meaningful"?????

So if you want to try and blame the Pubbys for the $5 trillion dollars added to the deficit from Jan 2007 until Jan 2011 (when the Dumbassocrats held the purse strings) then by all means go right ahead...... That's the Dems stategy by not passing a budget, because they can use Bush's last budget and say "See the Pubbys are responsible for all of our debt, we tried to pass a budget but couldn't.... those nasty Tea Party people"......

Can I go ahead and laugh now or should I wait for your reply????

So what happened to Pay/Go ?????? The PAYGO system was reestablished as a standing rule of the House of Representatives (Clause 10 of Rule XXI) on January 4, 2007 by the "DEMOCRAT- CONTROLLED" 110th Congress..... Oh that's right it got ignored (By the Democrats) so they could pass all of their bulshit stimulus packages.....

You need a civics lesson. Obama can't spend a single dollar without Congressional approval. If the House doesn't appropriate the funds, they don't get spent.

The House doesn't need to pass a bill to cut spending, it simply can refuse to enact any spending at all.
