Title: US Troubled By Rising Anti-Americanism In Egypt

The Obama administration is expressing concern about what it says is a tide of anti-Americanism in Egypt.

The State Department says criticism of U.S. aid and motives as the country transitions to democracy are inaccurate and unfair.

The State Department has raised the matter with Egyptian officials. Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland called personal attacks on the U.S. ambassador to Egypt "unacceptable."

Nuland says Washington firmly supports Egypt's democratic transition and will continue to. The administration has been surprised by a rise in anti-American sentiment in the Mideast.

Some in Egypt have accused the United States of interference and fanning instability since the ouster of longtime U.S. ally Hosni Mubarak earlier this year. Subscribe to *Arab Revolution On Parade*

I say let the Chinese deal with them.

Let's just watch from the sidelines for a change.

Why should they hate America? I mean all we did was back a dictator that robbed them and crushed their human rights..............

With the economy still in the dumper -- maybe permanently? -- and full-time jobs becoming as scarce as rain during a drought, huge percentages of Americans have had their (misplaced) faith in the American dream shaken, the upper-middle-class consumerist lifestyle is exposed as a mirage for anybody who plays by the rules. Capitalism and the America that embraced it as a way of life is now and forever more a failure. It does me good to know that the generation that voted in Reagan and his ideology will see their America die from that ideology before their very own eyes and knowing they had a hand in its destruction.

So I'm curious as to how they are going to feel a couple years from now after they have been under the boots of the Muslim Brotherhood????? they might end up being sorry.....

Yep - sometimes folks have to just live under the "paradise" they think they want until they realize that it's not the "paradise" they thought it was going to be.

They may learn (finally), or they may be like the statists in our own country and NEVER learn.

In either case, we're broke and we can't afford to care butt in anymore. That's why I said turn it over to the Chinese.

Let them deal with the insanity for awhile, and let's see how that works out.

Prosperous like Turkey is under the Islamists?

Sucks for Israel though (which is the underlying context of brining up the Muslim brotherhood boogie man all the time).

Turkey hasn't quite yet gone totally over to "The Dark Side", there is still fighting going on within the government right now....... the same as it was over 30 years ago when I was there.... they were under martial law at the time and you definately went indoors before curfew...... you don't want to spend time in a Turkish prison, it isn't as nice as ours..... and you probably won't leave with all of your extremities intact either..... büyük bas....

The Islamists seem to be more civilized than the militarists were - calling them 'secularists' never made any sense since the Turks of the old regime were nationalist Muslims in the same way Sadaam was a nationalist Muslim (though Saddam was actually more tolerant of Non Muslims than the secularist Turks probably because the Christians of Iraq were Arabs rather than another people). The so called Turkish secularists were no different than the Ba'athists including making up fake history like the Turks were the first humans, etc. all of the same nationalist mythology crap the Ba'athists did and still do.

But I guess because the Turkish military was doing America's bidding for Cold War dollars Americans liked that I guess even though it was under the so called secularists that Turkey saw the elimination of the non Muslim populations from Anatolia (again probably for nationalistic / ethnic reasons because they would not assimilate under the faked Turkish heritage mythology more so than because they were hateful of Christians).

So your statement that Turkey has not gone fully over to the dark side is spurious because Turkey was more evil under the generals than she is now. I guess from a pro Israeli - pro American empire point of view - the Turkey of the generals was better for them and thus less evil than it is now.

It depends on if you like life in the Stone Age or you like a more Westernized lifestyle..... If they keep falling into the Muslim Brotherhood abyss it will be the Stone Age..... and that's the way the Brotherhood likes it, a religious Stone Age.... women in burkas, women treated like slaves, women are disposable..... the men running around in 7 day shitters and smelling like a goat during Ramadan...... only people who are insecure and very stupid do shit like that.... I.E. the Muslim Brotherhood....

Turkey under the so called secularist generals was no feminist paradise and the regime went around torture/murdering thousands of their own people. The Turkish generals were no different than the Saddam Ba'athists.

I think you might be surprised at the amount of women that I seen running around in miniskirts when the Generals were in charge.......

I don't see any different in Turkey today. In any case the Turkish generals were pro Muslim in a Ba'athist sort of way (nationalist reasons).
