Title: MSNBC Host, Guest Consider Whether Tea Partiers Are Addicts, 'Delusional'

MSNBC host Martin Bashir interviewed Stanton Peele, a psychologist and an "expert on addiction," this afternoon. Bashir urged Peele to psychologically evaluate supporters of the Tea Party. "It reminds us of addiction because addicts are seeking something that they can't have," Peele said. "They want a state of happiness or nirvana that can't be achieved except through an artificial substance and reminds us of the Norway situation, when people are thwarted at obtaining something they can't, have they often strike out and Norway is one kind of example to one kind of reaction to that kind of a frustration."

Bashir later asked: "So you're saying that they are delusional about the past and adamant about the future?"

"They are adamant about achieving something that's unachievable, which reminds us of a couple of things. It reminds us of delusion and psychosis," Peele responded.

Here's video of the exchange:

I'm TP and don't support Bush's wars OR 0bama's THREE wars.

You must be unique. Apparently the TP'ers in congress don't think the same as you.

Just so we're clear, this cartoon expresses exactly what I think of Obama as president.

You should be fine with that since the military are all government employees. We could always use the remaining military to fight the only war that effects us directly; the one on our southern border.

I doubt Libby would be in favor as that's the country of Libby's dreams. Not much of a middle class, just the wealthy and the poor working beggars.

It's going to be interesting to see if the American voters will buy the bullshit that Brian SS and skippy are trying to sell.

Yep.

There is a concerted, collusive effort by the Statist/Leftist media and their zombies/drones to scapegoat the Tea Party for the gazillion dollar deficit perpetrated by this irresponsible fedgov Leviathan.

In THIS country, the asylum has been taken over by the patients.

Those two hacks seem to have a real hard-on for the tea party, it seems. For the life of me, I can't understand why. Does the tea-party threaten their gov't check?

The TP threatens their goob-statist controlled FREE STUFF TRAIN and wet dream of a Commie/fascist globalist Amerika.

I'll repeat an analogy I used earlier - We have a 12 alarm fire. The house is in imminent danger of burning to the ground. Enter Obama and his "team". Their solution? Pour more gasoline on the fire.

Yep. Excellent analogy.

After two years of that, you get the tea - party. Their solution? Piss on the fire...Even though the house is going to burn down in the end, at least the tea-party's solution seems to make more sense - futile though it be.

The Tea Party at LEAST recognizes and demands addressing the spending-money-we-don't-have problem. Metaphoric speaking, the "pissing on the fire" is apropos, although, we do need to drink a LOT more beer if we're going to be effective ;-)

Though Bobby Sherman is my hero and DREAMY, America is hijacked by Elites and Leftists.

It had some slight declines before the deal was signed. It started significantly sliding afterwards.

It's easier to find a baby pigeon than it is to find a trader who likes the Debt Ceiling agreement. The much derided deal effectively raises the amount the government is allowed to spend today in exchange for mythical cuts 10 years from now.

No, my solution is to realize that the debt ceiling was raised to pay for programs the congress already spent money on.

How convenient.

HEY! Lemme run up my VISA card past its limit...then demand VISA raise the limit cuz...I've ALREADY got the 100 inch plasma on the wall.

You say you want to save money? Fine. End the M.E wars, stop being the world's cop, and reduce the size of the military.

Fine. Have your Prez and Senate get on it ASAP....oh, wait....

You should be fine with that since the military are all government employees. We could always use the remaining military to fight the only war that effects us directly; the one on our southern border.

Funny, how your beloved Dims were all against raising the debt ceiling when they controlled Congress. And when Bush was suggesting that failure to reform Social Security might result in failure to meet obligtations, the MSM and your beloved Dims were saying it was traitorous to say such things as the US will always meet it its obligations, regardless. Yet, you have no problem with this mythical allegation being made over the debt ceiling.

Sometimes you make a bit of sense.

Even a fool says something valid... from time to time.

Usually it's by accident.

It used to be the leftists that had bumper-stickers that said things like "Question Authority.' Today they follow slogans from 1984:

War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.

They blindly LOVE Big Brother. They believe competition, pride & profiting from ones labor, are evil things to be banished.

Stephen King observed, "The beauty of religion mania is that it has the power to explain everything... [so] logic can be happily tossed out the window.

This describes socialists. They will ignore logic and "common sense." They will ignore REALITY. Because THEY are religious zealots...

THEIR God... is the STATE.
