RICHMOND, Va. (WLS) - The presidential race is already creeping onto local television in the 2012 battleground of Virginia.

The Republican National Committee previewed a new 30-second attack ad Wednesday that portrays President Barack Obama as a dupe of a China that has mastered the United States by January 2017, the hypothetical end of Obama's second term.

The ad, with light penetration but a big social media component in Virginia, depicts a wide-eyed girl in a darkened room fearfully viewing television images of Obama before a red-and-yellow Chinese flag and a cutaway shot of China's Communist leaders applauding.

RNC political director Rick Wiley says the ad is also airing in North Carolina, Iowa, Ohio, Florida and Indiana - states Obama won in 2008 but Republican George W. Bush carried in his 2004 re-election.

An afterthought in presidential elections for decades, Virginia was a decisive battleground in 2008 and a critical loss for the GOP in what had been a solidly Republican South. Obama was the first Democrat since Lyndon Johnson in 1964 to win Virginia in a presidential race.

This year, not only is Virginia in play again, but Obama's chief supporter in 2008, then-Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, is in one of next year's most-watched U.S. Senate races. Republican George Allen, trying to win back the seat he lost to Democratic Sen. Jim Webb in 2006, is favored to win the GOP nomination over a little-known field.

The GOP is striking while Obama struggles with Congressional Republican leaders to reach a compromise on raising the nation's $14.3 trillion borrowing limit by Tuesday or default on its bills for the first time in history. Wiley said polls show the drama is taking a toll on Obama heading into his re-election year.

"Across the board you're seeing it," he said. "We believe Barack Obama is beatable."

The ads, he said, "gives us a trial run before we put our grass roots in place across Virginia."

Brian Coy, a spokesman for the Democratic Party of Virginia, said the GOP is "holding our economy hostage" for political gain.

"They can launch all the ridiculous attack ads they want, but it won't distract Virginians from the fact that Republicans don't understand working families and don't have a plan to create jobs," Coy said. (1 image)

Virginia is one of the states that will be hit the hardest if the GOP sends the country into default next week. If they want to have any prayer of winning, they'll increase the debt limit.

So...Your position is that the GOP must surrender again to the irresponsibly fiscal whims of the Leftist Dems in order to dethrone 0bama?

LMAO.

Virgina is a fedgov hive of bloated bureaucracy. Let these parasites get real jobs (oh, that's right - the ONLY jobs in Virgina are fedgov jobs. Eff 'em.

How is agreeing to pay the bills that the GOP ran up when they controlled both the Congress and WH capitualating to the "leftist dems"?

"Spandex", btw, isn't an answer.

War, let's be intellectually honest here; BOTH Parties ran up this un-godly debt. And BOTH Parties must ratchet down the un-godly spending.

And have you forgotten that since 2007 when the Dems first began controlling the purse-strings that the debt really began exploding into the ionosphere?

Again I refer you to The Federalist #10 in which the reason for the Framers choosing a Republic over a Democracy is discussed.

So, no, there is no need to read minds when the Framers have spelled out their reasoning of one over the other in print for posterity.

You first.

You never disappoint my very low expectations of you. You've spent more time on my bozo then off of it and, at this point, I really don't care which way you go.

You attempted to posit something that, as you wrote it, makes 0 sense. Now, honestly, I could care less if you clarified it. But, this appeared to be one of those few times where you are TRYING to have a discussion. If that is not the case tell me now.

Firstly, I mean the Citizens United USCON decision was RIGHTLY decided, and Emperor 0bama and his loyal subjects - you, mininggold and Unions - are WRONG.

Secondly, the WH and the Dem Houses have virtually blown up the country a thousand different ways since 2009, yet you two are whimpering about - of ALL things - the Citizen United decision? Gimme a break.

The debt stood @ $10trl and the deficit @ $1.2trl when Obama assumed office.

What did they blow up?

Let's see. Half of the Bush deficit was due to the Bush tax cuts, and most of the rest was from Bush's two unfunded wars and Bush's unfunded prescription drug entitlement.

The second two items are legit...

Tax "cuts" are merely the People's refund for being overcharged in the first place. And btw, even those who paid ZERO taxes got "refunds" because the DEMS demanded it.

You did forget the cost of subsidizing the illegal invader population, the Plantation parasites, and increasing the goobermint's unnecessary agencies and drones.

For the record, IMO Bush bribed the American people with his "Tax Cut" in exchange for looking the other way as he was involving us in his fake trillion dollar war.

Comparatively speaking though, those tax cuts/refunds are a mere pittance compared to War Tax, the Plantation Tax, and the Fedgov Drone Tax.

Alaskan Gay Canaries

Funny that you should bring that up. My comment is about your tagline and it got me to thinking about the CT that "yukon" professes along with his stalwart crew of gay idiots. Since March 27, 2011 "yukon" has made some 7050 posts (94 pages of posts X 75 posts/day = 7050) Some were purged by Goldi-Lox. So that is a minimum number.

What is important to note is your tagline date/time stamp for the infamous "yukon" thread which has entirely disappeared from LP's history cache.

The time stamp is about 1:30 PM, March 27th. Are you or anyone aware "yukon" normally arrives on LP (throughout his ENTIRE posting history on LP of seven years at about 1:30PM) about that time each and every day? After his daily rants between 2-5 AM (EST) he drops off and resumes his rants upon his next day.

If not, it is something to think about. Here is why:

Why would a "hacker" whom stole "yukon's" password WAIT for any time period or lag to create the "infamous yukon thread" so it was timed almost precisely with his regular daily posting activities?

Yukon lives somewhere in Alaska which is 4 timezones away from EST LP timestamps. That means that after he wakes in the morning and handles any chores, he gets right on his computer for LP and his other fun and frolic.

Check out his posting history on LP, yourself. He has accumulated more than 110,000 posts through a 6-7 year period AND he starts his antics about 1:30PM each and every day!

Holy crap. Does the canary have a life?? (btw, do us all a favor - don't ping those lying, azzhole disruptors and vulgar blackmailers. Thanks.)

Many of us do NOT believe the "I WUZ HACKED" meme and never will.

The timing of the post was indeed crucial. And then we were all asked to suspend logic and common sense during this convoluted CT episode by the Liars and Blackmail Crew while ignoring the whispers-of-collusion in real time. Some of us remember THAT clearly. Moreover, NO one has ever posted gay porno at LP - nevermind a second time. I was one of those who gave yukon the benefit of doubt the first time.

It really comes down to the reputation, credibility and the evidence at hand of the canary and his cabal of liars. Once the blackmail card was used, all bets were off. One can NOT be threatened, coerced or blackmailed by a fake narrative into accepting a lie without proof otherwise. Not even several months or years later.

Check out his posting history on LP, yourself. He has accumulated more than 110,000 posts through a 6-7 year period AND he starts his antics about 1:30PM each and every day!

That is simply...sad.

Buck, I'm commenting on this insane episode again only to help you clarify the some of the considerations that may have needed to be addressed. I don't want to dwell on cover-ups and fairy tales by a committee of colluders. They are what they are. Forum Trolls and...but perhaps even the co-composite "poster" who is called "yukon" is responsible for mistakenly clicking the "wrong link." You'll note they even have almost finished each others sentences - they are that intimate with one another. Odd, isn't it at a forum with no email feature. There is more proof of this theory as there is of the "hacked" meme.

Disagreeing with and disliking other posters politically is one thing; But not at the expense of trashing forums and undermining debate purposely.

None of us are perfect, but I also know you can be provocative, overbearing, and over the top yourself at times. You're honest enough that you would readily admit this about yourself. I do also realize however that Goldi's 0bama-like double-standard of ethics enforcement disturbed you and many of LP's posters as well; I know you love your country, and are distraught over its direction; And I do enjoy your wit and commentary on occasion.

No Buck, it's not been fair how Goldi-Lox has treated the forum of Liberty Post, ignored or selectively enforcing the rules of behavior and hung out many a good conservative poster out to dry. The only explanation seems to be her change in agenda for that forum and/or she has sold out interest to silent partners (which would explain why a poll conducted reflected 90% of the posters regarded yukon has the "#1 Disruptor" and a Blackmailer from the ACLU slanders with impunity.)

Honestly, we no longer need to be distracted by the Statists or dwell on the rabid troll of a poster at LP and the Hoax-sters. Rome is burning. Perhaps LF is a better venue at which to address the Insanity.
