The makers of your video had one thing right - the development is nice. Just about everything else is hyperbole or just plain wrong - take funding for instance:
The Hope VI grant awarded $35 million to tear down and rebuild Salishan in three phases. The entire project cost was $225 million. The Tacoma Housing Authority made up the difference with loans, bonds, grants and home sales from the first phase, when 119 private homes were built. It also forged partnerships with Habitat for Humanity and Korean Womens Association, which built homes and apartments for seniors.

I see. All that is "free money" and doesn't need to be paid back, right?
Also,I know for a fact that if *I* wanted to sign an agreement with a contractor to build a first quality housing complex, the very first people I would contact would be Habitat for Humanity and the Korean Women's Association. No politics or graft involved there, right? Plus, who could be more experienced contractors than those two groups?
Once again the parasites are being given the keys to the public treasury.
