A gunman has opened fire at Norway Labour Party's youth camp on the island of Utoya, fifty miles south of Oslo, shooting several people. Unconfirmed eyewitness reports have said 25 to 30 may have been people killed. The gunman appeared “tall, blonde and [of] Nordic looks” according to reports. A reporter from Norwegian TV 2 news channel, Lasse Evensen, said he has spoken to several witnesses at the site. "They told me that there was a man with light hair and light skin, 190 centimeters tall and well-trained, who pulled out an automatic weapon and opened fire," said Evensen. Acting chief of police for the Northern Buskerud Police District, Bjorn Erik Sem Jackobsen, said the man spoke Norwegian. The attack followed a bomb blast at the government headquarters in the capital but it was not immediately clear if the attacks are related. Labour spokesman Per Gunnar Dahl said a man dressed in a police uniform started shooting at youths assembled for the party's annual youth camp at Utoya, an island outside Oslo. He said around 700 people, mostly teenagers between aged 14-18, were assembled for the camp. Police have arrested one person as a flock of ambulances arrived at the scene.
