Title: Poll: Weakened Obama Would Lose Vote Today

A Democratic polling firm said President Obama's already weak job-approval numbers are "worse than they appear" and he likely would lose the election if it were held today.

For the first time in a year, Mr. Obama does not lead former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in Public Policy Polling's monthly national poll on the 2012 presidential race. They are tied at 45 percent, and Mr. Obama is losing among independent voters by a margin of 49 percent to 44 percent.

Worse for Mr. Obama, PPP said, the "vast majority" of undecideds disapprove of the president's performance. The survey of registered voters was conducted July 15-17.

"There's a very good chance Barack Obama would lose if he had to stand for re-election today," said Dean Debnam, president of PPP. "This is his worst poll standing in a long time, and he really needs the economy to start turning around."

In an interview this week with a Kansas City, Mo., TV station, Mr. Obama said the election will be more about his record than the platform of the eventual Republican nominee.

"Americans understand that we didn't get into this problem overnight," Mr. Obama told KMBC-TV, one of three interviews he gave to regional TV outlets at the White House on Wednesday. "If next November they feel like I've ... been working as hard as I can and have been getting some things done to move us in the right direction, then I'll win. If they don't, then I'll lose." Obama was worried for a second until he realized this is from the Rev Moon's Washington Times.

PPP is a Dim polling firm and tends to slant left, moron. The Washington Times had nothing to do with the poll.

Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’??

That's really not a problem since the Tea Baggers will never allow Romney to get the nomination.

Stranger things have happened - Americans elected an unqualified and visibly brain damaged actor as president - twice.

Romney will be the nominee. It's the way the GOP works.

You heard it here first - Rick Perry will be on the ticket.

As a result of Perry being on the ticket, there won't be a third party challenger from the right, so Obama will go down in flames.

To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. — Thomas Jefferson

he loses to "generic republican" but beats any named Republican.

The GOP hasn't learned the lesson of Angle/Buck/O'Donnell, they could beat Obama with a moderate, intelligent candidate - but they insist on pushing whack-jobs like Cain and Bachmann.

I'm not so sure about that - Perry is pretty bombastic, he's not the kind of guy you would want as a #2 - and he would likely calculate that if Romney is the nominee, he would be better off getting ready for 2016 should Romney lose. Romney doesn't need help winning Texas. I would bet that Romney chooses either Marco Rubio or Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell as his running mate. Both would help him win critical states that he needs to win to beat Obama.

Let me ask you this. Suppose Acting President Soetoro IS defeated in either the primary or the general election in 2012. Do YOU and your leftist pals REALLY think anything is going to change regardless of who the next president is?

Face reality. Barry is nothing more than Bush 4.0,and whoever replaces him is going to be Bush 5.0,regardless of the union label behind his name.

Those of you on the left have been getting hosed as badly as those of us on the right. When are you going to wake up and realize this?

"I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago." (Sarah Palin,Dec 2009) ************************************ DID Palin say or write these things or not? (Me) I don't know or F ing care. that depends on who beats him. If it is Romney then no. If it's Bachmann, well let's just say those who think the end of times are near may just be correct.

Whoever becomes President in 2013 is going to have to deal with the beginnings of the retirement of the baby-boomers, and little in the way of options to generate growth.

You asked a great question, Pete.

They're true believers - I don't think they'll ever wake up.

I can illustrate one of the differences between the "left" and the "right" by comparing it to corrosion on a car. A car - like everything else in this world - deteriorates and corrodes. It is the natural order of things.

Work and effort ("rightist" qualities) can certainly slow down the process, but the relentless onslaught of corrosive elements ("leftist" qualities) are always on the move - never quitting, never letting up.

Eventually, the left-wing forces win out, and the car is a pile of shit. Everything turns to shit. It is the natural order of things.

What do right wingers do? They buy another car, and start the process all over again.
